(Laliga 2024/2025): Highlights MALLORCA - REAL MADRID

A few collisions in the last few seasons. And some whistles from the stands as well for Real Madrid. It's the Quartet in the front line just ahead of this game. Tribute is paid to Rudi Fernandes. It's Rafa Nadal in the stands, but it's the honorary kickoff taken by Rudi Fernandes. On the half hour. Real Madrid in there. It's been an underwhelming tenure so far at Mallorca. That bending shot has to be tipped over by Thibaut Courtois. The ball is taken away inside the boxes. Vinicius, little backheel from him. Rodrigo might set up a shot. Rodrigo with that bending effort. It's Real Madrid's opening goal of the game. And their opening goal of the La Liga season. The defending champions score. Courtesy of Rodrigo. It was set up by a deft backheel from Vinicius Junior. And have that injury around about Christmas time which kept him out. Here comes a run from Vinicius. Lays that off. It's Rodrigo. And that strike sinks the hand of Dominic Reef. Rodrigo looking for his second. Vinicius Junior. Mbappé has made a sprint towards the near post. And Mbappé hits the side netting with his first shot. Asano, he's dropped over to the left-hand side. He will take on Mandi who has also changed flank. And this one ricochets around. Courtois was in a panic there. And he's given a helping hand by Antonio Rudiger. Another corner. This time Dani Rodríguez entrusted with the delivery. And there's the header. It's an equaliser for Mallorca. And it is that man, Vedad Morici, who starts the season with a goal. He powers the ball into the net. That's the attacking threat that Vedad Morici offers. He does well there to get the ball ahead of the defence. Looks for that low shot. And it has to be saved by Dominic Reef getting down to his right. Not just in terms of intensity. All through. Is Kylian Mbappé from a tight angle? There's the follow-up. Somehow it's gone wide from Rodrigo. Mbappé's shot too hot to handle. He takes off Militao. He's into the box. Brings that across. It was there for the taking. It might still be on. It's the shot there. And it's throwing himself into the line of fire. The ball nearly finds its way across the line. Off the rebound. Rodrigo was brave there. A league of season for these two sides. Half-hearted appeal for Hampel there. It pings back. It looks as if it was Antonio Santos very nearly finding the net at the other end. Modrici's pass is blocked. We've got a player down. It is Kopete. A lunge from Mandir will result in a straight red card. Mandir in front of Mandir has been sent off. As frustrations get the better of him. Real Madrid ends in a 1-1 draw in Mallorca. It's probably fair, Duncan. I feel like this is a result that represents what we've seen with the caveat that Mallorca was short.
