Abandoned Ranch Forgotten and Lost to Time

foreign [Music] [Music] foreign so these pens must have been what for cattle Maybe that's what I'm thinking to say I guess this would just be a little feed Stables I mean look at her the shape that this Metal's in even the welds have snapped off of here and it's got that beautiful desert patina now this one's all uh fenced up like this so I wonder whether or not this would be for maybe I don't know smaller animals or maybe the whole lot had that no I don't think so maybe they would keep the balls in there separate from the rest of the cattle because it looks like a cattle fence maybe horses donkeys you can hear the donkeys in the background yeah but this is just I mean again all around like the orchard fields yeah what are they spouse you can never say that that's the one okay pistachio potassium close enough is that a cottonwood tree it looks like it's been struck by oh it does gorgeous and then I hear all the you got just metal bits at least see this is the weird thing that was all on pallets you can see everything was up on pallets and now it's been washed oh maybe people have sort of scavenged yeah Metal scrappers and things trying to get the look at this tree that feel hollow that sounds like it oh yeah because look it's got burn marks yeah all through it oh it's a Welly that's where you think we'll start do like an outside circle of the hole yeah we're starting this I think this I think this is the bunk house this is pretty neat shall we go in cool I gotta say it no trip would be complete without a trip to the loo look at that old bath Bellini yeah it's like a baby bath so kitchen yeah a little kitchen area and uh bedroom I would say so the closet you've got those mud now mud daubers that's it I know somebody told us what they were or wasps yeah well at least so far fingers crossed it's only natural Decay which is apart from maybe the smashed Windows they could be natural as well actually it could be because there's a lot of crop yeah the cracks and they're very thin thin pain yeah no uh no hooliganism yeah it's nice so let's have a look and see what this room is bird's nest so our bedroom the closet okay just like the other one but then outside door outside access yeah another door here to another bedroom with outside access so there's no living room so yeah I like you said probably just a bunk house [Applause] okay this is a little bizarre okay here's the kitchen [Music] foreign that's in terrible State oh yeah and then another bedroom oh he's in the screen's still in there oh that one's cool so again more bunk house oh more of the same actually no no this isn't I think that could storage yeah where's that donkey I can hear him I can't see him it's hiding won the barbed wire ah so no then I mean still part of the bunk house but it's not it kind of looks like maybe like a common room oh okay yeah you've got although saying that there is beds and a dressing table a dresser and an outside door outside door a lawnmower there I don't think that one over here well load of ladies shoes in pairs actually lots of ladies shoes oh okay and then a kitchen here uh oh that made me jump it's the wind [Applause] Pantry of some sort okay and probably would have missed this another bedroom and with a shag nice shag carpet and a bathroom so this kind of is like an ensuite Okay so what if this one was a family one so you had like the single guys living in the bunk house you've got all the ladies clothes so maybe it was a husband and wife and kids and this was like if you because you then you've got that or like a foreman yeah kitchen and living area or if they had kids I don't know I'm just guessing yeah it makes sense to me so what do you think main house yeah I think that looks possibly like it it's got a nice fireplace and again just all the equipment around it how just they're completely surrounded there's uh buy these irrigation system right the way around the house right right the way around the ground kind of reminds me like the lazy river at like the swim parks that go all around the outside but just the orchard Fields just stretch out it's like all the way to the base of all these mountains it's incredible isn't that adobe oh yeah Adobe bricks and then they just plastered over top of it or something I wonder how old this is then the whole the whole structures Adobe oh yeah wow we're gonna listen to the size of these telephone poles here wow okay this is in rough shape yeah yeah obviously living room yeah fireplace that's got a really nice Arch oh yeah that's different and two doors into the kitchen see the paneling they put wood paneling over the stucco stream so I would say this is a kitchen Diner yeah I've got the cabinets there oven what on Earth is that oh foreign it's got a bunch of little holes for like cups face me never said anything like that before right that's uh look at the the huge is that air conditioning yeah well you'd need it out here in the summer sofa bed and then in here ceiling in here yeah you can see the ducts underneath oh just a bedroom with a closet yeah and an outside door oh that wind is getting strong I'm gonna another bedroom here and that door probably go outside which will check and a bathroom this is a big bathroom so family house [Music] okay let's check out all right [Music] oh okay I reckon this must have been a massive walk-in closet you got tons of Base it's like a dressing room because you wouldn't have a bedroom walking in from another bedroom no that would be bizarre look at all the mold yeah all coming through wow this looks like it's an extension yeah that looks like it's an outside oh maybe not well yeah that's weird they took time to do their own type of crown molding so I guess he was trying to make his wife happy with a nice huge walking yeah because there's no crown molding anywhere else in the place no so we go out this door to the because there's a back inch there's another building back here did you know there's a freezer in here shall I shall I well it's outside empty I've got a deep freezer at the back oh [Music] it's empty major jump though yep [Music] [Laughter] I guess that's payback yep foreign bird poop okay look at oh wow I'm liking this one oh what a screened in porch yeah massive look at the way the trees fallen and damaged the roof look at that giant palm tree I know now that palm tree does not go here no way out of place duck Bowl the large front window and then this is the thing the screened in front porch I know it's even got one of those uh oh it's plastic but yeah plastic yeah oh that's light aluminum super light aluminum sit out here in the morning cup of joe evening a couple cup tea yeah and okay oh yeah oh look the tree's gone right through the roof that's that's this is gorgeous actually this is perfect a lot of light huge Windows one room so kitchen Diner living room you'd have your bed what here I guess probably here uh by the window I'd imagine oh no but oh yeah well look at you've got oh that's a curtain rod to go over so maybe you put the bed now well no because if you had the bed that way you'd drive straight in and the closet's over in the corner is that a closet or is that storage for the or kitchen well I can see a hanging rail oh okay look at the I don't know what you call that because this is what is that called we just did that as a fancy I know but what's it called um I don't know fancy design I don't know let us know in the comments below crown molding it's just an extra piece to kind of separate the kitchen and in here is the bathroom with the Lou all intact foreign this is really nice this is a few more buildings to check out before the wind just totally blows us away so we've done the bunk house done the main cabin the little cabin we've still got the trailer today and machine shop yeah yeah so right out this one's got is this like a generator is that what it is yeah it looks uh got power supply of things to pull out when you're working on the fences and or powering Machinery out and about made in West Germany oh 983 83 yeah and I got some electrical stuff in here so yeah just a neat little shop and again all around they got large windows lets in a lot of light sliding doors see what's around the other side and then we'll come back to those uh cars we're going this way so this is just is this ply ply board plywood is that what you call this oh no it's not it's not PL it's it's not that bored it's I don't know it's like cement board oh is that what it's called it's a large it's massive isn't it so you've got two little sheds yeah yeah you got a bunch of so tool bits Parts in hearing out of nails fuel looks like fuel filters over here in the bends what do we got okay watch my step on the floor here okay you got some distributor caps spark plugs looks like some flywheels some pulleys so a little mix of some engine parts same back in there filters and whatnot over here we've got Plumbing so just some part spins but it's so cool to just see these parts out here still I mean it really is a snapshot of their life out here on the farm are these air filters yeah there's tons of air filters and whatnot oh look there's loads up there as well they look like they're new well they were yeah I'm sure they've never been used but again more distributor caps and engine parts belt serpentine belts over here and again zero graffiti which is lovely yeah it's so refreshing and that's again what makes this so special it's like they we say that when we come to some of these places and this is a perfect example of when people leave things where they're supposed to be it gives you a better idea of how the people lived here you know it actually is a snapshot of their life like they just got up and walked away I mean look at all the tools it makes you wonder why they would have left all the tools behind so another Workshop Nuts and Bolts oh you can smell oil oil big time yeah so Parts fridge yeah Parts fridge oh wow this oh this place is massive oh it goes on and on wow and again just fully stocked with all the stuff I mean this is how things should be left this is amazing [Applause] it's pretty nice isn't it and this just goes out oh these are belts aren't they foreign Fun House Effect in here oh mind your head and then this I mean I wonder if they had obviously it's a pump or something I wonder if they had like a milking cow maybe or some goats possible oh some piggies [Music] thank you so the last little bit in this area trailer home looks like this was a spot that kept a dog now it's all just full of remnants door's been shot up yeah somebody wanted in there Oh see it's potassium all over bed suitcase yeah remnants of uh lots of mice droppings over there I bet they've had a field day with these nuts oh yeah wow so this is kind of looks like it's been trashed you know the strip lights have been taken out yeah the bulbs so but I mean yeah it looks like that window has been busted out but all in all I mean for their the wood paneling not to be ripped to shreds and walls kicked in and graffiti yes nice isn't it sprayed all over the place it's just it's so refreshing to see somewhere in this good of shape right let's uh go over to that other place yeah so one more building take a look [Music] I just can't get over it this land is massive the acreage has got to be just huge so they did have cattle I would say looking at this yeah or some sort of livestock because this looks like a a branding oh yeah where they lock them in there they get them in with hay and then and then they brand them so cattle [Applause] yeah because there's the weight huh poor cow again they're just and it just goes on well I mean the land seems to butt right up against the mountains yeah and kind of you can see a little bit of the fence line goes up and around there and up this direction to those mountains it's unbelievable so we've got that building left yeah so I think we're gonna have to go back around the way we came yeah boy my legs are going to be tired at night [Applause] there's lots of donkey poop thank you so Barn I guess yeah I would whoa no maybe not a barn okay or another exterior's blown out but what are okay a bunch of pallets and you've got a sink over there double sink wow okay later windows Another Empty room with that like cement board thin super thin cement board this wall is coming down maybe it used to be a barn and then they put this in another massive room lighter another sink shower bathroom toilet that doesn't exist anymore Another Empty room I think this was a barn and they reconfigured it yeah a little back patio out here now and a ladies shoe huh just want to just check out in here well at least it's nice to get out of the Wind all right so I think that's about it yeah this is again I'm just I know Farms have a lot of land but actually walking around well you think one from one end to another we didn't do that halfway we only did half so I don't know what's down the other end or along the back side because that just it's immense but there's probably more outbuildings and things that's I mean you would think that this water trough so they've got to have water everywhere so there's got to be little outbuildings with pumps and stuff to keep the water flowing maybe that's the reason why they uh close down yeah there you go a nice abandoned ranch with a very sprawling property yeah we only covered half of the ranch's property so we there may be more buildings that we we couldn't find or we didn't look for but we've been at it for about four and a half five hours and oh the straps fell down um and the roads to get here was 12 miles of really bad Road actually yeah it's up and down and also the the roads not big rocks not big rocks but divots and where it's been washed away and with all the you know the recent Monsoon activity and all that kind of things you know it does damage the roads and those are times where we don't record that um just because it is a bit we can't focus on recording something and trying to navigate through those and plus we both have bad backs so driving on these roads is getting a bit tough so um but with that said I mean this place was well worth it oh totally it's just we're absolutely exhausted uh backs hurting legs are hurting we have walked so much today it's it's um amazing how big this place is so we've decided to Camp here the night because it's hot past five and there's no way we're gonna get back up that undulating Road um before dark yeah so we're going to stay here with Tonto as you can see we've got him all set up with M and I'm going to cook some dinner inside and I can stand up yay and on that note get out there go and explore put another pin in the atlas and we will
