Welcome to Tokyo, one of the most incredible cities in the whole world.
A vibrant city full of endless possibilities and unforgettable experiences.
Join me as we uncover the city's top most busy destinations and activities,
from iconic landmarks to hidden gems.
Get ready as we experience the best of Tokyo in this amazing video.
And guys, this is the busiest crossing in the whole world
and it's located here in Tokyo, it's called Shibuya crossing
and 2.4 million people every single day make this crossing
and as you can see, it's extremely busy.
So it is said that around 3,000 people are crossing right now at the same time.
Pretty, pretty cool, so you've got to be quick, be careful a little bit
because it gives you a short period of time to make the crossing, so be careful.
I'm going to try to show you also what it looks like from above.
If you like to enjoy the best views of the Shibuya crossing,
we go here this part which is called Max Rooftop Terrace
and it's located in the last floor of this building
and here you can enjoy the views of the crossing.
It is for free, the only thing you got to do is order one drink, a beer or anything
and yeah, you will be able to enjoy the views.
Got this part with the window where you got a very nice view of it
and there is another room in which you got like this really nice writings on the walls
and you can write your name if you wish so, so really, really cool.
The beer was something around like 3 US dollars, so not bad at all, so really good.
Max Rooftop Terrace located here in the Shibuya crossing area
that offers you the best views of the crossing.
And in the inside part of this rooftop,
you will be able to write in the walls any message you wish so or even your name.
And another must visit definitely when coming to Tokyo is to come to Shibuya Sky
which is this amazing observatory open air space in which you can enjoy
panoramic 360 degree views of all the city of Tokyo.
This is located on the 47th floor of the Shibuya Scramble Square Tower
and it's definitely worth it.
It's very important to know that you got to book in advance
because it gets pretty, pretty booked up so quickly.
I mean, it was booked for the next 3 to 4 weeks, I got to say.
Luckily, I managed to find a spot around midday when it's not so busy
because I got to say most of the people comes around the sunset to enjoy,
you know, a bit of the day and the night time but it's still very good.
It's a very sunny day, we got even people enjoying themselves here
in this part which is like spot for helicopter as you can see.
And yes, a lot of people but not so crazy.
We got even queues for taking some pictures over there.
We already took some and most likely we're gonna take some more.
I'm gonna leave you how much it is over here and where to book it
so definitely come to Shibuya Sky.
And you got also this electric stairs in which you can appreciate
all these views as well while you're going down or while you're going up as well.
So it's pretty, pretty cool.
It's a good experience so you can come in the day and come in the night, it's amazing.
Or if you come for the sunset, it's perfect so you appreciate the best of both worlds.
But yes, either way, anytime you come, it's perfect.
And apart from all the places in which you can take pictures,
you got places as well in which you can relax, have a sit
and enjoy all these beautiful views of Tokyo.
So it's really, really cool.
And look at these views, guys.
Wow, so, so amazing.
Look all the green over there of all the city of Tokyo.
Among all these incredible skyscrapers.
Wow, you need to come here to the Shibuya Sky, definitely.
Another thing that you can do when coming here is rent these cars
that are obviously like Mario Kart, the traditional character of Nintendo.
But you got to bring your driving license if you like to do so.
Unfortunately, we don't have it yet.
But yeah, it's a really cool thing to do if you come to Japan.
Some more here.
In this area, you can snap a photo in front of Shibuya's main meeting point,
a statue honoring the most loyal dog in Japan, Hachiko.
And it's that in the 1920s, this Akita dog will journey to Shibuya station
to wait for his owner to arrive back from his daily commute.
One day, his owner did not return from work.
He died.
This did not stop Hachiko, though,
who returned to the same spot to wait for his owner every day for the next nine years.
The dog has gone on to become a symbol of enduring loyalty nationwide.
The statue in his memory serves as a fitting meeting point
for city residents and tourists as well.
And if you love music and you love anime, you got to come to Tower Records Shibuya,
which is located just a few meters after the Shibuya crossing.
And it's a place popular because you can find pretty much any record
you can imagine of Japanese music and international music as well.
So as you walk, you can see all the CDs and digital CDs as well available for buy.
And also concerts and even outfit of your favorite Japanese band.
As you can see, a lot of people come here to take the pictures of it.
And it's important to note that you've got also pop-up events daily over here.
Right now, there is no pop-up music going on,
but you can find even like the famous Final Fantasy records
that are used, you know, throughout the games.
So really, really cool place.
You can spend here hours checking up all the records available.
And something that I really like because I'm very fan of Dragon Ball
is that you can find even some comics of Dragon Ball.
And I'm going to show you right now.
So we got here the part that says thank you Akira Toriyama.
As you may all know, he recently passed.
And yeah, we got here some comics of Dragon Ball.
You can see here Krillin, Master Roshi, Goku, Bulma.
So a lot of them.
I don't know which one to pick.
Which one will you pick if you will come here?
And also some series of collaborations that Akira Toriyama did as well.
But yeah, really, really cool.
I think I'm going to take this one.
What do you think, guys?
Do you like Dragon Ball?
Because I love it.
Really, really cool.
And it's that there are over eight floors over here.
And each floor is so busy.
This is the floor of K-pop, which is obviously very popular.
Not only in Asia, but all around the world.
And look at the queue to pay.
So many.
You can find all the artists, favorites, everything, everything,
everything you can find over here regarding your favorite artist.
So I bought my some comics of Dragon Ball and I'm so happy.
So amid the bustling part of the city, we got this beautiful natural area,
which is the Meiji Jingu Shrine, which is located just a few meters of Shibuya.
And it's a very important part of Japan history
because it takes back to the Meiji restoration part of Japan.
So it plays an important part on the restoration of Japan.
And over here we got all this incredible nature that surrounds the whole area.
And it's very important to know that it's an area that covers over 170 acres.
So have a look.
It's very, very beautiful.
At the beginning, we entered through the Torii gate,
which represents the entrance to the sacred part of this shrine.
So let's explore together what it looks like.
And along the way, we got these sake barrels, which are displayed as a decoration
and placed at the shrine entrance in honor and offer to the multitude of gods
and souls of the deceased Emperor Meiji and his deceased wife Empress Shoken.
So it's very interesting to come and see all these barrels.
And it's also a very beautiful spot to take pictures as well.
This famous Shinto shrine is hidden among a thickly forested area,
creating an atmosphere of tranquility in the heart of Japan's bustling metropolis.
Meiji Jingu is one of the most popular shrines in Tokyo
and is visited by millions of people every year.
The shrine's daily ceremonies, incredible architecture and scenic grounds
make it a memorable and rejuvenating destination for tourists and Shinto practitioners alike.
We have entered now to the main part of the shrine and look at this guy.
This Shinto architecture is just amazing.
It's very important to note that this architecture dates back to 1920
and even though it was destroyed during the Second World War,
it has been reconstructed and it maintains
the original aspect of what it was like when it was constructed.
And look at this.
It's just incredible.
Among all this incredible nature, you've got all this beautiful Japanese architecture.
So really, really nice guys.
Inside the Meiji Shrine, you will find the wishing tree
full of wooden blocks with written messages, wishes from people from all around the world.
It costs about 800 yen to purchase the wood blocks
and you can write your own message or wishes.
And remember, if you're enjoying this video so far, make sure you give a like,
you subscribe to the channel and you activate notifications
in order for you to discover more amazing videos like this in the future.
And another must-visit, especially when you're coming to Shinjuku,
is the Shinjuku Gyoen National Park, which is a park that dates back to 1603
and it was destroyed during the Second World War,
but it was then restored in 1949 and ever since has been a very popular park,
not only for tourists but for locals alike
because of all the beautiful areas surrounding this incredible park
with Japanese-style gardens.
So I'm going to show you what it's like.
In here, we can also find traditional Japanese architecture
and as you can see over here, this is an area in which people can come and have tea.
So it's very interesting to come to this park
and find all this incredible traditional architecture
and in this part that dates back to 1603 and literally a few meters,
you got the busy, busy part of Shinjuku.
So as you can see, this is a part in which you can actually come
and have traditional tea in this beautiful Japanese architecture.
Hello!
So we have entered to the traditional Japanese tea house
and we have ordered some matcha and also some traditional Japanese snack
and we are here sitting in the very traditional way.
Look how it is with the beautiful Japanese garden on the outside.
You can sit also in the traditional tables if you wish so,
but we have decided to do in the traditional way.
Oh yeah, really, really cool.
The staff is very friendly as well.
So let's try.
Try the tea first.
Matcha tea.
Wow, so smooth.
Really, really good.
And let's try the traditional Japanese snack called mochi.
Wow, I really like it with the mandarin inside.
So good.
Wow, definitely you got to try it.
And how much was it for everything guys?
It was really good price, no?
3,580 yen for all of this in the traditional tea house.
Really good.
So you need to come here to the Shinjuku Pyoen Park.
And another thing you got to do especially if you come to Shinjuku
is the many karaoke places in which you can sing along with your friends.
So they give you your own place, it's private,
so you don't sing in front of other people luckily.
They give you the iPad in which you choose the music, the microphones,
and we paid very little.
It was, it came up everything roughly just 20 dollars for three of us,
including the drinks.
So how cheap is that?
So good.
In the middle of Shinjuku.
So good, so good.
So let's have some fun now guys.
Okay, choose the music guys.
Come on.
And we have come to this place for breakfast
and it's good for brunch as well if you are hungry when coming here to Shibuya.
It's called Happy Pancake and while the name alone might make you smile,
there are more reasons to it.
This place which was born actually in Osaka,
it has the philosophy of no baking powder
and no additives to the pancakes they make over here.
So they are actually steamed and they make in the moment.
It can take up to 40 minutes from the moment you order,
but look how delicious it looks.
It's very, very yummy.
This is the Happy Pancake which comes with syrup,
whipped cream, and also ice cream.
So we're gonna try it now.
My friends, they ordered also the one with banana and chocolate.
We ordered some extra of strawberries and ice cream
and also the one with the tiramisu.
So let's try.
Looks so yummy, yummy.
Oh, the texture looks like extremely soft.
Let's try.
Let me put also some of this.
So let's try.
It's so soft.
It feels like it's gonna melt in your mouth.
So delicious.
You got to come to Happy Pancake here in Shibuya.
So good, guys.
I love it, I love it.
So how's yours?
What do you think?
Amazing, wow, crazy.
No, the texture, super soft.
It's crazy.
And what do you think about yours?
It's amazing.
It's the best tiramisu I have ever had.
And the pancakes, what do you think about the texture?
They're so soft, like little clouds.
They're really, really nice.
Enjoy.
And this is what is left from our pancake.
We actually stopped now because she couldn't finish the tiramisu.
But I had it, so that was my plate.
And Christian, he's nearly there.
And we still have a little bit of ice cream.
But that was really, really good.
So we received the bill now.
All of that came up to 7,960.
So we have the three pancakes, plus the extra of a strawberry,
strings, tea, and coffee as well.
So that's not bad at all.
That's roughly around 50 US dollars.
And we ate quite a lot of things.
And it was delicious.
So really good price to be fair, considering we are in Tokyo,
the capital city of Japan, and for a good service.
And lovely, lovely pancakes.
And another particularity is the way to the toilet.
So this looks like some books over here, but it's actually the way to the toilet.
And if you like shopping, Ginza is the place to be.
This is the most important shopping district of all Tokyo,
and one of the most important in all Japan.
So yes, in here you can find all the high-end brands you can imagine,
like Gucci, Fendi, Balenciaga, and much more.
Even this amazing building that has Sony, Nissan, some restaurants as well.
And yeah, it's pretty cool.
I'm not looking for shopping, but it's good to include it in the video
because the area is so modern.
Looks like New York or London.
Completely different than the other districts.
So it's pretty cool to see.
And also in here, in the area of Ginza, you can find second-hand shops, vintage.
And we're about to enter to this one, which is called Kindle.
So let's see what we find over here.
So I'm going to show you a few of the things you can find here,
just to give you an idea.
For example, here we got a Prada shirt.
Pretty nice, I quite like it to be fair.
This costs ¥40,000, so what do you think?
Is this expensive or not?
Then you got Louis Vuitton, this really nice jacket.
This costs ¥200,000, wow.
Got this really nice Gucci sort of like tracksuit top.
Pretty cool.
This costs ¥85,000, and it says it's been reduced extra 20%.
So what do you think about the prices, guys?
Got here some trousers, Gucci as well, for ¥40,000.
So yeah, great variety of things you can find here, which are pre-owned,
which means second-hand vintage style.
Got here area for women as well, there is Saint Laurent, Chanel.
There are also bags, handbags, small leather goods.
So yeah, quite complete.
So yeah, if you want luxury brands and even pre-owned vintage shops,
you can find here in Ginza.
Got this really nice shorts that is ¥5,000.
Got even a section of shoes, for example, we got Kenzo Paris for ¥9,000.
That one looks pretty cool, and yeah, more and more clothes.
So that was our experience here at Kindle,
the vintage shopping store that is here in Ginza.
And well, Cristian, tell us why you bought here.
I just got a body from Vetements, which is amazing, black, oversized, classic.
Wow, really cool.
So how much would it be if you buy this full price somewhere, according to your knowledge?
I think they are around £1,000.
Plus, there is no architectural or online shop for Vetements,
so it's quite difficult to find the item.
And you paid how much, roughly?
425.
Okay, okay.
So you save around half of the price.
Okay, so you are happy with your purchase.
Okay, well, enjoy.
For last but not least, I highly recommend you to visit TeamLab Planets,
which is a highly tactile experience with four exhibition spaces
that host seven different large-scale artworks,
which TeamLabs call it body immersive.
By body immersive, they really do mean it.
You will explore the museum barefoot,
and at times, while submerged up to the knees in the water.
The reasoning behind the concept is that, as TeamLab explains,
once the boundary between the body and the artwork dissolves,
the boundaries between the self, others, and the world become something continuous.
Kids are expected to engage with the world far differently
than they would in a regular exhibition,
more like how you may engage with the natural world.
Without giving too many of the surprises away,
you can expect to get a little wet.
You will wander through the maze-like dark rooms
that lead into open light-flooded displays and synchronized music.
Be sure to charge the phone
because the Instagram content opportunities are abundant.
Given that there is no clearly marked pathway,
you can expect to get a little lost, but this is very fun.
There is a good chance you will stumble across a hidden surprise.
Also, as the way is crafted,
many of the rooms have mirrored walls and light displays
that will trick your sense of the space and depth of vision.
So, have fun and be careful.
Definitely my favorite part of this exhibition is the Floating Flower Garden,
which consists of a three-dimensional mass of flowers.
In here, you can encounter over 13,000 orchids, which are completely real.
But as the flowers float up above the people, open spaces are created.
Because of this, people are able to freely wander around the flower mass space.
Really, really recommended.
So beautiful to take pictures over here.
This is it for this video, guys.
Thank you so much for watching.
