This video provides an explanation on how to fix obligations in the U.S. Treasury reporting portal for your SLFRF program account.
hello everyone my name is Stephanie and
I am the lead data and reporting analyst
for this slf program at the Department
of
Treasury today we're going to take a few
minutes and go over how you would
address a yellow or red flag for your
obligations to do this you will want to
start by entering your report through
the portal and navigating to the project
overview section
from there you will scroll down to your
existing
projects from there you will be able to
identify where an additional information
is needed for your
project for obligation status you see
that the project currently has a yellow
pencil icon this is identifying that
this project requires additional
information
the project status and the expenditure
status have green check
marks that means what is in the system
at this current
point is accurate information and need
does not need
attention however information in the
project status does determine how
information should be entered throughout
the system so when you have a red our
yellow
icon you should first go to your project
status and review the information for
that
project for this project we have a
$100,000
budget and we are saying that we have
cumulatively entered obligation of
75,000 and current cumulatively entered
$50,000
in
expenditures for this current period we
are saying we have not entered any
obligations for this
project and we have entered 50,000 in
current period
expenditures so since our icon is war
obligations we are going to focus on
that area we need to verify that the
cumulative
obligations is75
,000 and there are $0 current period in
obligations so to do that we should
navigate first to our sub awward
section to verify if there are any sub
awards for this
project here we can see yes there are
sub awards for this project
$50,000 has been awarded
for this project in a prior report
period to me that lets me know that as
of right now our cumulative project
obligations are
$50,000 and our current period
obligations are zero because this was a
prior
report but this isn't the only place you
need to
verify along with the awards and sub
awward
obligations can be
posted in the expenditure
section of less than
$50,000 so we will first review there to
see if there are any household project
obligations our project name is not
listed below so that still tells me that
50,000 has cumulatively been awarded for
this project in a prior period
next place you'll need to check is
payments to
individuals there are currently nonone
listed
here so let's recap on where you check
for
obligations the first place to look for
an obligation is listed in the sub award
section and then you can also look in
the expenditure section in the less than
50,000 section and the payments to
individual section so now that we have
reviewed all of these
sections we see that our
project status should be
updated because we have only come across
$50,000 total in cumulative obligations
for this project and 0 were in this
period so we will
update our cumulative amount to $50,000
once we do this our project status has
been updated to show the obligation
status as a green check mark this now
means that everything that we have
entered in the project status
section does match Our obligation and
our expenditure
status again I do want to remind you for
obligation information you will find it
in the sub awward and direct payment
section as well as the expenditure
section for less than
$50,000 and in the expenditure section
for payments to
individuals once you have verified all
your information and you have all green
check marks you can proceed to reviewing
your other projects and once they are
all green you can then proceed to the
certification
section thank you for listening and we
will continue to have more project
update information available
