Our First Summer Home in Halifax Canada

Well after living in Africa for over four years it is the first time that we are finally back in Canada during summertime with the fam jam. And I have to say Halifax is at its best in the summer so I'm very excited. Because we hate winter. So I'm very excited to show you what we kind of get up to during our Halifax Canadian summers with our family. Yeah some pool time, some bowling, some restaurants, some whatever. Patios if we can find them. Follow along. When you go for the gold, sometimes you gotta go through some dirt. Yeah you gotta wait for it. First keys, first set of wheels. Dream house up on a hill with your girl sitting there in your rocking chairs with silver in your hand. Yeah you gotta wait for it. So it's my nephew's birthday and we got him a surprise. Something that he will flip out about. So let's let's go see. Happy birthday! So good gift yeah? Yes. Perfect. Oh Joel did you ask permission to board to Captain Owen? Now it is boat time. Not the little boat that you just saw but a bigger one. Book bag? Book bag? Yes mom. Bye. What's wrong? She's scared of the camera. Bye bye. Okay. It's all good. Bye. Fun. Fun. I'm excited. At least fun. Fun. Ready to put your new boat in the water for the first time? Yeah. I hope it floats. Okay Joel I need you to film. Just take this and just point it in this vicinity here. Okay. As we offload the boat. You got this. Good job Joel. That was heavy. Thank you very much. Good job. We're going for lunch but the kids can't wait. They got a snack out. Got a snack out. Good chip buddy. So otherwise as expected this is not the boat for the day. This is just a little thingy for my nephew. This is the boat of the day. A Boston Whaler. That's all I know about it. I don't know boats. I think it's a 270 Vantage or something. It's a 270 though. Do you have other fun fact about the boat? It makes 600 horsepower. That's pretty good. My fun fact is that it's white. Anyone in there? Can you see anyone? No. This is honestly my favorite. It's coming down in the boat and one thing that we did last summer. So I had to come home for a quick trip in the summer last year. We took it out and we're going to stop at a place for lunch. Yeah. It's super cool so I can't wait to show you that. So for lunch we just docked at a cute little restaurant that have its own dock which is super cool because you can come with a boat or a car. They also have a normal parking lot called Tuna Blue. It's our first time here but the fam jam comes here all the time and I think they have some good seafood hopefully with that. Apparently somebody saw a swordfish like just at the end of the dock like about 15 minutes ago so the boys took the fishing rod and they're trying catch supper I think. You're just here for the swordfish? Yeah. Smallest mackerel I've ever caught in my life. Yeah this is not going to be good enough for supper. Smallest one I've ever seen. I'm being so serious. I've never seen them small. Well if you get a swordfish scream my name I'll come back. Okay so we got fish tacos but we got one that was grilled and one of traditional battered fish and I am so excited. Good lunch? Such a good lunch. Emily's good lunch? The fries were the best. I really appreciated the half your chicken wrap. Joel food review? Unspeckable. Unspeckable? Is that a word? No. Owen food review? Pretty good pretty good. Pretty good pretty good? Well I thought our fish tacos were pretty good. So the fries definitely took the winner that is for sure. There were the right amount of crispy and spice on them. Perfection. Lost it. I mean it did fall but technically she caught a fish on her first throw. So with the boat they have the one spot that they always come out to and fish mackerel. So this is where we are right now and there are a ton of fish out. Annalise has already caught one with her first cast into the water. It's gonna be a good fishing day. Ciao guys. Well very fun afternoon with the fam jam but we are all exhausted right Tracy? Right. When you're out under the sun especially with the salt air there's something about it when you come back. All the kids were like relaxed and barely staying awake. Yeah. We're all sleepy. Yes. And I need a shower. That's true. And we were gonna go in the pool and have more fun but um I don't even think we have the energy for that. So we're just gonna chill the rest of the night. There's a fireplace outside. I think we'll go around that. Do you want to show them where we lived? This is our mini apartment for for this month. Show them. It's a mess right now. Yeah. It's very bad. Room tour. So please disregard. It is a disaster. I didn't remember that we were filming this. Just explain that we're at the second floor. Yes. Okay so we're actually staying with my sister um but there is a portion that is a loft upstairs and it is perfect for us staying here. We're here about a month. So we have our own bathroom there. We have a TV there. An amazing AC. Got a little couch here. Again we're just trying to get organized so there's like laundry everywhere because coming here and getting ready to head out. We have a little uh fridge there. Words man. Bed. It's perfect. I was just thinking I was gonna do that. Honestly it feels glorious. Thank you. Good morning. This morning we're taking the ATVs to a little trail not too far from um where where the family lives. We have no clue what it looks like but you know what? ATVs just sounded fun this morning so we're gonna do just that. We are now downtown Halifax about to start filming our next video which you're gonna see next therefore you should subscribe but it's always a good time with the fam jam. Yeah and I feel like it's been some much needed overdue Halifax time in the summer and obviously with the fam jam. Yeah. It's a good time. It is a good time.
