Arsenal fans, have we made an error? Have we been focusing on the wrong Brentford lad? In a day and
age where we know we need a striker amongst other positions and Ivan Toni was linked with our
football club which as you've seen he's moved to Saudi Arabia, were we focusing on the wrong
lad from Brentford? Now I want to ask you lot a question, would you like long term cover for
Bukayo Saka and added versatility across the front line? The answer would be yes. Again as I said us
Arsenal fans were focusing on the wrong lad. According to Team News and Tick, staff at Arsenal
Football Club were keen on Arsenal signing Mbuemo from Brentford. So let's attempt to gauge as to
why we would do such. Now as I said, Team News and Tick, Sammy Moatbell, any credible journalist
after the fallout of the summer transfer window has said Arsenal considered a late move for Mbuemo
which evidently he's not playing for Arsenal Football Club, that didn't quite work out. Now for
me, he's a transitional demon, he's got a lovely left foot, he's dynamic, he's versatile and he's
aggressive in all phases of play. He's also at 25-26 years of age, at the prime age to really
adapt to Arsenal's way of life, not to mention he's Premier League proven. There's a lot to like
about the Brentford attacker people and you can see just by watching Premier League football why
Arsenal would be drawn to him. In my opinion he has all the tools to thrive not only in his position
but in terms of our high energetic pressing game as well. This season he started off in blisteringly
good form, he's got three goals in three games already. You would have seen he was instrumental
to their win against Crystal Palace in relation to Brentford, opening the scoring with a sublime
finish. He also netted a brace against Southampton last time out to make it three goals in as many
appearances which currently, while there's a long time to go in the Premier League, only Erling
Haaland is ahead of him in such. Now for me I would say his best position is off the right-hand
side but he can play as a false nine. I'd see no reason as to why he can't play on the left.
The man's a demon on the transition, he works his socks off, he's a pressing machine. There's a lot
of intangibles in relation to Brentford and Thomas Frank's style of play that he could adapt and work
at Arsenal and ensure he thrives. He also can take a mean set piece. I also have to big him up because
between him and Visser, they coped very well with Ivan Toni's absence and during a couple of years
in Buermo has actually been at Brentford. He's been a great partner and understudy to both Ivan
Toni and once upon a time Ollie Watkins who has since joined Aston Villa. I wouldn't describe him
by any stretch of the imagination as a prolific goal scorer. I mean on the face of it, 25 goals
and 21 assists in 101 Premier League games and when you consider total appearances for Brentford,
203, 53 goals and 42 assists, it's not really eye catching. But I do think he's a player that
is a rough diamond and I don't think the statistics do him justice. Last season he got 9 goals and 6
assists in which he missed several games due to injury. As stated earlier in the video,
this season he's already got 3-3. You could argue at Arsenal, a team that got 91 Premier League goals,
playing with better players, scoring more goals, naturally he would thrive.
Only Harlan is ahead of him in the goalscoring charts at the moment.
He's a player who provokes havoc and thrives in a more chaotic Premier League game. He's also so
good at arriving late into the box or just in general his runs into the box. He makes intelligent
runs. He's so good off the ball. Now Brentford fans I'm sure would agree with me to describe Apologies
his debut season at Brentford would be electric. He scored 15 times in the Championship which also
shows added experience. He's got 101 Premier League games to his belt and he's got a significant
season in the Championship and at 25-26 he's ready to make the step up. He got 15 goals in
his debut season as I said in the Championship. He contributed 8 goals during the 2020-21 campaign
when Brentford were promoted via the playoffs. We also would have seen Benjamin White and Aaron
Ramsdale's debut game when Brentford returned to the Premier League, how good he was and what they
did to us then. Let's forget about that. Now again, Arsenal seem to play one formation and we kind
of tweak it but Thomas Frank's a very good tactician really and you've seen him play a 4-3-3,
a 3-5-2 and things of that ilk. Now again, you look at the Ivan-Tony and Mbwemo partnership,
it worked a target. David Rye who now plays for Arsenal Football Club, at the time he's doing it
with Havertz now but at the time he would target Tony from goal kicks and Mbwemo would chase after
any flick-ons which the second ball is vital in football. It sounds a bit like Arsenal Football
Club at this moment in time people. I would say Mbwemo's preferred position is on the right wing
so he can cut inside on his left foot, his dominant foot and he's also tweaked his game to succeed
centrally when demanded of him at Brentford. He'll explode and explodes in tight spaces people
along the width of the front line. For me he positions himself where he can't be tightly
marked. He places himself in awkward positions between defenders and he's a very good technical
player. He's got a very good first touch, he can receive the ball on either foot but obviously
naturally generally wants to work with his favoured left peg. He can also play off a one-touch sort of
way of playing football people. He's got incredible maturity and possession that is beyond his years
in my opinion. He reads the space well and is a thinker's man's football. He scans well and he
uses his peripheral vision on a football pitch amazing. He's also a brave lad, he puts his body
on the line. He also is a mean set-piece taker which our set-piece culture at Arsenal Football
Club would love. At a time people he attempted 24 crosses and found his team-mates with 12
which shows he is quite accurate with his crosses. So maybe with Raheem Sterling and Kai Havertz
arriving early slash late into the box Mbwemo could find them, a bit like how you'd see with
Kyle Saka. In my opinion I might be doing too much but you could argue he's one of the most
underrated players in the Premier League. I love the fact that he shoulders responsibility. He
helped his team not alone but alongside Vissa in dealing with the absence of Ivan Toni and actually
at this moment in time coping with life without Ivan Toni. I think he has an option of an additional
year on his contract but currently he's contracted until 2026. He could be someone considered a
target and a long-term player for us. I mean we do have great relationships with Brentford
owing to a couple of our dealings. At 25-26, again in terms of his age, it would tie into
the long-term strategy. I also believe while you can source players from all over, I do think
Arsenal Football Club were at that point where potentially we need to start poaching the best
of the rest from the smaller Premier League teams. I look at someone like Eze of Crystal Palace,
Kudus of West Ham, Isaac of Newcastle United and it wouldn't help to go to that small club
in South West London and try and poach Cole Palmer people. Banter aside, he's an experienced
Premier League player. He's a Cameroon international. He is to a degree Premier League
improving and it could be worth pointing towards January of maybe tempting Brentford to sell.
Next summer is probably more sensible. He would allow us to marry stronger creative
depth in that position. And again, his strongest position is on the right-hand side. So he could
be long-term competition for Bukayo Saka or a long-term rotational option amongst other areas.
We all like players who like to take defenders on and has the speed to get past them. I do believe
he can be slightly wasteful at times and he can be quite wasteful with snapshots inside and outside
the area. But I do think year in, year out from what I've seen at Brentford, he's getting ever
better there. And he's also someone of a growth mindset. In his spare time, allegedly he uses an
app on his iPad called Summer that according to the company's website says is the leading cognitive
performance training platform trusted by professional athletes, militaries and universities
around the world. So this is someone that has a growth mindset and wants to be better. He's also
known to do a series of extra training sessions to improve his accuracy with head of coaching
Justin Coltrane and assistant coach Kevin O'Connor people. Thomas Frank has even attributed
his clinical finishes to those extra hours he's been putting in. I mean, if Embermo can maintain
his level of performance, then he, in my opinion, stands to have his best goal-scoring season in
terms of output in the Premier League to date. There's no reason as to why he can't reach double
figures in the division for the first time. I do think if you go back in time, he's also signalled
his intentions of one day playing for a more bigger club. So owing to him signalling his
intentions, Arsenal doing their research and seeming like he's a player that flags on their radar
and also his contract situation where he's contracted until 2026 with an option of another
year, this could be one that is one to watch for the future. But for what it's worth, if we could
get him in January, it'd be great. Obviously, you know, he's irrelevant to a degree at least until
January at the earliest or more realistically the summer because the windows closed. But for what
it's worth, I can see why Arsenal are linked to him and I definitely wouldn't be upset if we
confirmed his signature. With that being said, that's enough waffling and rambling from me.
