I have a brand new what's on the market episode for you today. I'm so, so excited for you to see
these. Hello everyone. Welcome back to my channel. If you are new here, I'm Jen, your Delaware
realtor. I'm a local Delaware real estate agent that basically covers the entire state because
we're pretty small. So whether you're looking to buy or sell in Delaware, I would absolutely love
the opportunity to help you. My information is down below in the description. So please feel
free to send me an email. Okay. So like I just said, I have a brand new episode today. So a lot
of times when people are thinking about retiring to Delaware or even moving to Delaware, they often
either don't want to be in a 55 plus community because they don't feel that they're there yet,
or they decide that they do like taking care of their lawn maintenance. And they're really just
looking for a ranch style, single family home, a ranch style, meaning that it is one floor. Now,
sometimes that's also referred to as a rambler, which means that there is a basement. So sometimes
there is one floor and a basement. Sometimes it's just one floor on a crawl space, or sometimes
there's just one floor on a slab. So today I want to show you three different homes,
all located in Kent County, Delaware. And these are all ranch style homes. Now,
some of them I believe have basements. Some of them are just on a crawl space, but a lot of times
you can get a lot more house and more bang for your buck in Kent County. So they are all located
in Kent County. First up being Felton. So let's take a look at what's on the market as a ranch
style, single family home. All right. So the first one is, like I said, located in Felton.
It is listed for $345,000. It is a three bedroom, two bath. It is 1,546 square feet built in 2012.
So this one does not have an HOA from what I am seeing right here. And it's located on 0.26 acres.
So let's take a look at what this one looks like inside. Okay. So this one does have a two car
garage is vinyl siding. It does have mature landscaping already taken care of for you.
And it does have a red door. Now me personally, I would probably paint the shutters and the door
just because I'm not a really like a red person, but I do feel like it has a good amount of
landscaping already done for you. Now this porch is not big enough to really put any kind of like
chairs or anything out here, but you could put like a big planner right here and kind of just
make it a little bit more curb appeal on like towards the front door. From this angle, it does
look like it has a fenced in backyard, but we'll get to that in a little bit. And it does look like
it has a side door right here off of the garage. So if you are outside and you need to get into
the garage or you need to come out of the garage, you have that option right here. Now it does look
like it has carpet throughout the main living areas, which does include on near the Island as
well. We have an open floor concept with the living room being right off of the kitchen.
It does have a slider that goes out to a deck and this kind of gives you an idea of how big this
living room is. It is big enough to hold a sectional. You could always do a couch here and
a love seat here or maybe a recliner here. So definitely a couple different options in furniture
placement for this house. It does have a ceiling fan. I do not see any recessed lights. So if you
were, if you do need light in this room, you're either going to get it from the ceiling fan
or you're going to have to have some lamps throughout the room. And that's the same thing
for the kitchen. We do have this one light here and then a one light over the sink.
But I personally, if I was buying this house would most likely add some recessed lights.
They've come a long way and you can actually, you don't even need the cans anymore. So it's
actually kind of a little bit easier to add recessed lights now than it was in the past.
This is that deck that we saw in here. So once again, it is red. Once again,
I would probably just paint it. I'm more of a dark Brown deck kind of person,
but I really do like their sectional that they have right here. And that kind of gives you an
idea. Now I've seen people put a gazebo on top of their deck just to give them a little bit of
shade, or some people will put an awning on their house that rolls out to give them some shade,
or I've seen someone put up like umbrellas. And then this kind of gives you another idea of
what the living room looks like off of the kitchen. And then you do have your dining room
area right here. So this is the front door does look like you have a coat closet and then you
have your dining room area, your kitchen area, and then your living room. It's like these pictures
now we do have an Island that does have enough room for some bar stools. I can't tell if this
is just like a one level Island or if there's like a dropdown right here, but I guess we'll
see on the other side, but your sink is located under the window. It looks like you have plenty
of countertop space right here between this and this and the backsplash is already done for you.
We do have black appliances and it does look from this angle that that is a gas stove,
but I guess we'll get closer and when we get closer, we'll see it. Once again,
already mentioned this, but there is carpet in the dining room area as well. And then we also,
it looks like we have linoleum in the foyer. Now this is, okay, it is a rectangle table.
At first I thought it was a square table. So this kind of gives you an idea of what type
table would fit here. Now you don't always have to go horizontal. You could go vertical here.
And I wonder if that would actually give you a little bit more space. If you did go vertical
with the table, if you went vertical, I feel like you would have a room here that if you have
China or if you have like a buffet table, that'll definitely fit right here.
Okay. So this is a better angle of the kitchen. So it is, it is gas for the stove and it is one
level for the kitchen island. Darker cabinets, but lots of cabinet space. Now I don't see a pantry.
So just know that you will need to figure out your food in the actual cabinets, not a pantry.
You could put cutting boards in here. I've seen people put cookie sheets in here.
You could do your air fryer in here. Definitely different possibilities. This is,
I want to say the primary bedroom, just based off of, I see this bathroom right here.
So this is most likely a queen size bed. It might be a little tight with a king size bed,
but at least you can see what a bigger dresser would look like. And it does look like you would
have room right here for a taller dresser. No, actually from this angle, this, this, yeah,
this is definitely a queen size bed, which you do have a room on each side. So you probably could
get a king size bed in here. So we have a ceiling fan with a light. They've put their TV over here,
but once again, you don't need to do that. You can put your TV here. You can put your TV here.
This is the primary bathroom. It does look like there is a small bench right here in the shower,
has a double sink vanity. I do think this needs a little bit of updating. I would switch out the
light fixture. I would do a different mirror and probably paint the cabinets, but this is
a great option and it does have a tub. So if you're looking for a tub, it is behind the door
and it has this big window, which will give lots of natural light in here.
We have bedroom number two that they are using as a TV room. So this kind of gives you an idea
of what could fit in this room. It does have a ceiling fan and it does have a carpet in this
bedroom and that is where the closet is. Then we have bedroom number three. I'm going to say this
is most likely a full or a queen, but it does look like there's still room on the other side
of the bed. So you're not slammed up against the wall or the window and there is room to get by
and also put a dresser and then your TV as well. Then we have the hall bath. It also has two sinks,
which is great, especially if the kids are going to be sharing. And then it also has a tub
shower combo. So don't have to worry about not having a tub.
And then the backyard, it is fenced in. We do have a little bit of a paver patio with a fire
pit. And then we also have that shed right here. This to me is like a blank slate. You could always
add a swing set back here, a trampoline and above ground pool. I mean, definitely has possibilities
of being a backyard oasis for sure. And it's like I said, it is fenced in. So if you do have animals,
at least you don't have to worry about it. All right, perfect. So that is a great option. So
that one, like I said, is listed for $345,000. It is a three bedroom, two bath. It is 1,546
square feet built in 2012. All right. So the next one, the next one is located in Milford. It is
listed for $380,000. It is also a three bedroom, two bath. It is 1,904 square feet built in 2003.
This one doesn't not have a basement. This is in the Milford school district and it sits on
one acre. One acre for $380,000. And I already see a big detached garage. This is looking to
be a very good possibility. And it sits, like I said, on one acre. Now, I do think that the
front of this house needs a little bit of curb appeal. Whether it be that you add some kind of
porch area here, whether you come off the house right here and do a porch area, or you just add
some landscaping here, it is definitely a little boring. But it can, I see potential,
and it can definitely be a quick, easy fix. So whether, like I said, just adding some landscaping
here and maybe some pretty flowers, I really think that you could spruce this up a little bit
and you can kind of see a better idea. Even if you just added a small porch, even just a little
overhang, just something to give this house a little bit of curb appeal. This is that detached
garage that we just talked about. It is two car, and it already has, it has a metal roof,
so you don't ever have to worry about the roof ever again. And it has the door right here in
the front. All right. So this house has been virtually staged, so I just want to make sure
that you see that. But it kind of gives you an idea of what could fit into the house. So we have
the front door right here. It already has, I love this, this little walkway here. This is really
pretty. It has LVP flooring throughout. It looks like the main living areas, but not in the kitchen.
It looks like the kitchen may have tile. But we have these two big windows in the front,
giving lots of natural light. And then this kind of gives you an idea. So you're going to walk in,
you have this living room area right here, dining room area here, and then the kitchen through here.
I love these walkways. This is also another living room area right off of the deck with
the slider. We have the kitchen with the backsplash already done for you. Now this is that what I call
90s oak. So if you are someone that maybe you're like, I don't like the color of this, these can
always be painted. These are really, really nice cabinets that just need a little bit of updating.
I do think that the countertops also need a little bit of updating, but I see a lot of
potential for this kitchen. Now it does already have the recess lights in the kitchen, so it's
going to be very bright, which is nice. We have stainless steel appliances. And yeah, I think
just paint these cabinets, maybe change out the hardware. Even if you can't afford to switch out
these countertops right away, you could always probably paint them. They make kits at Home Depot.
They're not that difficult. Just takes a little bit of patience. And then it does look like it
has tile in the kitchen. You do have a pantry right here. And then you do have an island,
which I would put a couple bar stools right here. And then your gas cooktop. Just really,
really, the appliances are really nice. Now you will see that you have crown molding throughout
what looks like the entire house. Now it is the wood, so if that is something you're not
interested in, wood can always be painted. Just keep in mind. So you could always paint them
white if you don't like the look of the wood. And then we do have the dining room area, which is
right off of the kitchen area. And then we do have this space right here that you could put an eating
kitchen area, like a table right here. And then that's right off of the back door. Another look
at the dining room. Now this is virtually staged, so just keep that in mind. I don't know if this
table is actually this big because they're not to scale, but at least it kind of gives you an idea
of what could go there if you chose to do that. We do have the laundry room, which I personally
would take down the wallpaper, paint this room, but we have really nice, actually, I have those
washer and dryer, same color and everything, and they're really nice. And then we do have cabinets,
once again, can be painted. We have the primary bedroom with the two big windows. Now it does have
this light right here, which I'm not sure if it would hold a ceiling fan. You would have to
take this light down and see if it would, but at least you have an idea of that you do have light
in the bedroom without any kind of lamps. And this is it without it being virtually staged. You could
put your dresser right here. You could put a TV right here if you are someone that would like a
TV in your bedroom. And then here is your bathroom. So the bathroom has two sinks and it also has a
garden tub. I would take down these mirrors just because I'm not a mirror person like that.
But it does look like it has an updated vanity. And then I can't see where the shower is. I'm
sorry. I'm not sure where the shower is. I don't know. It might be next to the tub, but
it's not showing me it. And then we have bedroom number two. Once again, big window,
crown molding, and a light already in the bedroom for you. We have the hall bath,
which has the tub and shower combo. And then we have one sink. Probably this vanity just
needs to be updated. It does look like the wood trim in this house has been
meticulously taken care of. And then we have the third bedroom, which could be used as an office
if you do not need a third bedroom, or it could be used as a guest room. There's many different
possibilities. I've seen it used as a playroom, a homeschooling room, so many different things.
Then here gives you an idea of the floor plan. So like we said, we come in the foyer, we have the
living room area, the kitchen, dining, and then the bedrooms are all on the other side of the
house separate from the kitchen and the dining room area. And then it does have an attic space.
It looks like it has about 800 square feet of attic space, which to me would be almost the
footprint of the whole house. And then the garage area. So this house definitely has plenty of
storage area for you, especially with that big detached garage. And then here is the slider on
the back deck. And then that door that was in the laundry room right next to the eat-in kitchen area.
And keep in mind, this is also on an acre. Oh, and the garage also has another door on the side.
Plenty of doors to get into the garage if you are someone that has big toys.
All right. So like I said, that one is listed for $380,000. It is a three-bedroom, two-bath that is
1,904 square feet built in 2003, and it sits on an acre. All right. So the last one is listed in
Camden, Wyoming. It is listed for $410,000. It is a three-bedroom, two-bath that is 1,846 square
feet built in 2006. And this one does have a basement. Now this one does have an HOA fee of $100
annually, and it is in the Cesar Rodney School District. This one sits on 0.28 acres.
Let's take a look. All right. So we do have two car garage separate doors. We do have a concrete
driveway. This one does look like it has mature landscaping. Now, I do think it needs pops of
color. I think everything's kind of green right now, but it could be because we are towards the
end of the season. Now, this porch is not big enough to put any chairs or anything, but you
could put these big planters right here to really spruce this area up, and you don't have to worry
about getting rained on. It does have a good... I mean, it looks like you've got green grass right
here. Now, Delaware has not had a lot of rain recently, so that could be why this looks a
little brown. So coming into the front door, it looks like we have a very neutral color going on
throughout the house with the gray, and then we also have crown molding, at least in these two
areas, which is white, and we have hardwood floors going throughout the main living area based off of
these couple of pictures. We have this huge ceiling fan in the living room with vaulted ceilings.
We have a fireplace, and then this kind of gives you an idea of what your furniture placement
could look like. You could put the TV up on the wall. You could put the TV above the fireplace.
We do have a door right here for the backyard, and then we have this little bump out right here
for the eat-in kitchen area, which I actually really, really like. I'm going to assume that
this is most likely a dining room off of the right of the front door. We have these pendant lights in
the kitchen, and then as you can see, there's a little bit of a half wall that divides the living
room and the kitchen area. A lot of times people are looking for an open floor concept, but they
do like the divide, and this kind of provides that for you. Once again, big fan, so at least
you'll have plenty of air movement coming into the living room. I was right. We do have the dining
room area, which is off to the right of the front door. We have this light fixture in the foyer.
Kind of gives you another idea. This is standing from inside of the little nook area in the eat-in
kitchen area. We have an island that's shaped like an L with a couple bar stools. You can sit
at that with the pendant lights that go over that. We do look like we have upgraded cabinets. I
wouldn't say they're white. They're mostly kind of like a linen color, like a creamy white.
We have stainless steel appliances, which looks to me, it's like that newer stainless steel where it
does have an electric cooktop. So if you are someone that is looking for gas, you most likely
will not find it in this house. And then we have an undermount sink. Looks like one bowl. And then
we have the backsplash that is already taken care of, which matches the whole vibe of the kitchen.
It looks like we have granite countertops. The hardwood floors do come throughout the
kitchen area. And then we do have this light fixture right here. I love this. I love when
they do this little bump out. To me, it's just like, it reminds, I think it's because it reminds
me of a dollhouse. I don't know why. But yeah, it just kind of gives that a little, just a little
bit more character to the house, honestly. I love their picture of their dog. You could put probably
a coffee bar right here, like a buffet style cabinet right here if you needed to. And then
this is that dining room area that is right off of the front door. Now this is a square, yeah,
this is a square type of table, but I would do a vertical table going this way. It looks like
there's plenty of room. And if you needed to put a buffet table or a China cabinet right here,
you have this natural light coming in these windows. I would take down these blinds or
open them up just a little bit more. Oh, okay. It kind of shows you. So you have this room for
a table right here. Now this is the primary bedroom. It does have hardwood floors in the
primary bedroom as well. This is a king size bed, plenty of room on each side of the bed.
You can hang something on the wall right here. It looks like they have their TV in the corner.
And then it looks like they have dressers, but if you have bigger furniture,
definitely plenty of room on this wall. You have your walk-in closet right here,
and then this is the primary bath. It has two sinks. It has a shower with tile from floor to
ceiling. And then this really intricate, it looks like shower heads. And it looks like you have jets
right here too. I think that I need to invest in this. I think that would be great. And it does
have tile on the floor as well. Bedroom number two does look like it has a queen size bed,
could go king based off of this picture. Plenty of room, hardwood floors in this one. I do not
see a ceiling fan in this one. Just a heads up, if you are in this room, you will need to add some
lamps. And we have bedroom number three that they are using just as an additional living space.
You could set this up as a bedroom, a guest bedroom, playroom, office, TV room, lots of
possibilities. And we do have, it looks almost like a sage green, like a light sage green in
this room. And it does have the hardwood floors in this room as well. And then two windows.
Looks like it is a decent size room, just like the last three. And then we have the hall bath,
which does have tile, one sink. And then I'm going to assume behind this curtain is most
likely a tub shower combo. We have the laundry room, which does have shelving above the washer
and dryer. We have, looks like linoleum in here, and it does have a light fixture.
This is the basement, which is unfinished, but could be finished. It looks like for future
use as entertainment space. They're using it right now as a gym, or you could use it for
entertainment with an air hockey table or a pool table. You could use this as just additional
storage area. And it does look like it has a sub pump right here. This kind of gives you an idea
of what the backyard looks like. So it does look like it has a fence in backyard. And then we have
this pergola coming off of the house, which I actually want to do this to my house. This
actually, I know it doesn't look like it provides some shade. You can always put like fabric over
this. You could hang some string lights right here. You could do a sectional right here.
It looks like you could, I think this is gravel right here. I think you could probably add like
a fire pit right here with Adirondack chairs. You could string lights right here. I mean,
there's definitely different possibilities. Or you could have a swing set for the kids.
All right. So like I said, that one is listed for $410,000. It is a three bedroom, two bath. It is
1,846 square feet built in 2006. And it is listed in Camden, Wyoming. All right. So there you have
it. There are three different homes, all single family, all ranch style homes. So if you are
someone that is looking to move to Delaware, and maybe you're thinking about the future and you
just don't want to do the stairs, or maybe you're someone that is thinking about retiring to Delaware
and you don't want to be in a 55 plus community, but you do want a ranch style home. There are many
different possibilities in Delaware. And this is just a few of what was actually listed on the MLS.
