We view the party as the defender of freedom and democracy, value that we hold dear after experiencing oppression firsthand. The memory of the struggle that we endured shapes our political beliefs and fosters a sense of gratitude toward a party that advocated for our right to live freely. Secondly, the emphasis on economic opportunity is another compelling reason for this support. Many Vietnamese Americans are entrepreneurs and small business owners. The Republican Party's focus on tax cuts, deregulation, and free market policies align with our aspiration to thrive in the American economy. We believe that this principle creates an environment where hard work and determination can lead to success, echoing our own immigration journey. Third, cultural values play a significant role. The Republican Party offers champions family values, personal responsibility, and community engagement, principles that resonate with many Vietnamese families. These values are foundational to the Vietnamese community, which emphasize education, hard work, and respect for tradition. Support for a party that mirrors these ideals creates a strong connection. Fourth, we cannot overlook the significance of foreign policy. Many Vietnamese Americans are concerned about the rise of the authoritarian regime globally, particularly in Asia.
