Jill, it was a match that ebbed and flowed and in the end you got over the line,
you managed to do it in extra time. What was the reaction like in the huddle at the end?
I personally was super overwhelmed. I think it was such a tough game. We're behind, we're in front
and actually I thought it was going to go to penalties but then thank God we scored the
3-2 and yeah super happy to be in the finals. There are some things that are like a movie
scripts and coming back to Arsenal and scoring, did that feel like one of them?
Yeah, it's a really good feeling obviously. For me, being in the finals is also something new.
I haven't come that far in the Champions League so this is like a dream and yeah,
also all the credits to Arsenal, they made it very tough for us but extremely happy that we won.
You will have Barcelona next in the final. We know what a mammoth task it will be to try and
beat them. How are you feeling going into that? Obviously, it's going to be a tough challenge
but also it's just one game, it's not like semifinals two games. It's one game,
90 minutes hopefully and I think anything can happen. I think we have to be brave and
we've got nothing to lose and we just need to go for it. Finally, history is mentioned so often
with Arsenal Football Club. They talk about their history in the game. Your history yourselves,
two-time winners of the UEFA Women's Champions League. How much do you talk about that?
Not that much actually. We go from game to game, at least that's what we try to do.
But obviously, we have a lot of players in the squad, we have a lot of experience and
they tell us sometimes how it is to play for this many people and bring their experience
on a pitch and I think that's important. Thank you very much. Congratulations,
how are you feeling? My body is done but I'm very, very happy. I'm so proud of my team. It was a
very, very tough game and now we are into the final and that's so fucking amazing. I'm so sorry.
Say how you feel. Wow, an incredible performance. You come back from injury as well. To score your
first goal against English opposition since 2011, was that in the back of your head?
Yeah, I read it but it was not in my head at this time. For me, it was important to score,
to go in front and this is what I need and what the team will for me.
Next stop, Eindhoven against Barcelona. When do you start preparing for that?
Now we have a lot of games in the league and with a cup final but we are very happy to go
to Eindhoven against Barcelona. I think it's the perfect final for the UVCL and
we are very proud and we are very strong. How will you be celebrating?
I don't know. We are escalating. Go and get a bath.
