ATHLETIC CLUB 3 - 1 RC CELTA | RESUMEN LALIGA EA SPORTS | J6 | 2024/2025

And there's that beautiful image of Samamesh and the meeting of two managers who have shown great respect for each other this week in the pre-match for the side from Galicia. Micky Williams again ghosting in behind Jai Ilson. His ball back towards Oskar Ojansan. Zeta and it's Gorka Guru Zeta who hooks it in. He has a tentative look towards the linesman but it looks like it will stand. Athletic club with the early lead at Samamesh just three and a half minutes into the game. He's called upon. He performs. And hang on. Iago Aspas is through. He looks to take it around. Aguirre Zabala. Is that a penalty kick? Yes, says the referee. Aspas wants a bit more. Iago Aspas. But he's a cool customer. He goes down the middle. Points to the Celta de Ligo badge. And he's put. So this left foot. Marcos Alonso with the flick. A fine, rough period in the game for Athletic. Berenguer. That's the trademark. Berenguer cross. And Gorka Guru Zeta fires the header in at the near post. A second goal for him. And Athletic, well, they've gone back to basics. They've gone back to what's always worked best for them. To put themselves back into the game. Berenguer. Still Berenguer. Saved by Vicente Guaita. Well, that's a player brimming with confidence. Lovely ball from Sanchez to his shot. Into the hands of Vicente Guaita. That was the one-two. Best option. Damien. Space on the left. Marcos Alonso. Into Bamba. Almost found an opening there at the near post. As Padilla rushed out. Now Rueda Galarreta. Williams to the right. Unai Gomez to the left. He feeds it to Ollantzan Zed. Williams shows his turn of pace. The ball in towards Álvaro Jaló. 3-1 Athletic Club. There's his first goal in a red and white shirt. And it was a textbook counterattack from Athletic Club. Well, they've shown all of the weapons that make them such a threat. Yago Aspas. Maybe one last bit of magic from him. It's a good pass from Yago Aspas. And that was a chance. He didn't make it at San Mames. Athletic Club with a much better performance in the second half. Celta in the opening 45. But Athletic Club, it's not enough for the visitors.
