Hello my little adventurers! It's Penna Poppins here, ready to take you on a splash-tacular
journey through the wonderful world of water. Today we're going to explore how water can be
grouped into three exciting categories. Fresh water, salt water and a mysterious third one
that we'll discover in the book of secrets. Are you ready? Let's dive in!
Fresh water. Fresh water is the water we drink and can be found in a river,
lake or creek. It's really important because all living things need it to survive.
River. A river is like a water highway, always moving. It carries fresh water from the mountains
down to the ocean and along the way. Lake. A lake is like a big peaceful puddle of fresh
water that stays in one place. It's home to all sorts of creatures from fish to frogs.
Creek. A creek is smaller than a river. It twists and turns through a forest and field,
bringing life to everything it touches. Salt water. Now let's meet salt water. This is the
water you find in an ocean, sea or a coral reef. It's salty, so we can't drink it.
Ocean. An ocean is huge and it covers most of the earth. The ocean is where you find some of
the amazing animals on our planet, like whales, sharks and dolphins. Sea. A sea is smaller than
an ocean. It is connected to the ocean and often enclosed by land. Coral reef. A coral reef is the
rainforest of the ocean. This colorful underwater city is made of coral and it is like an underwater
playground for fish. And now let's unlock some amazing secrets about water that not many people
know. Water can change forms. Water is a shapeshifter. It can be liquid like the water we drink, but it
can also freeze into ice or turn into steam when it's heated. It's always on the move, changing
and flowing. Water can respond to its surroundings. The scientist Dr. Masuho Emoto did an experiment.
He looked at fresh spring water first. When he froze the water and looked at it under a microscope,
guess what he saw? Sparkling crystals that looked like snowflakes. They were perfect, like jewels.
The water looked happy and healthy with beautiful patterns. But when he tried the same thing with
dirty polluted water, the crystals were broken and messy. Water can feel words. Dr. Emoto did
an experiment with words and water too. He found that nice words like love or thank you make
beautiful shapes in water. If someone says mean things however, the water crystal looks messy.
So my dear adventurers, Dr. Emoto's experiment showed us that water can reflect what's happening
around it, just like we smile when we are happy. So it's important to keep our water clean and take
good care of it, because happy water helps everything grow and stay healthy.
After our exciting journey through the magical world of water, let's see how much we remember.
Are you ready? Let's go! What type of water can we drink? Salt water, fresh water, coral reef water,
fresh water. Which of these is called the rainforest of the ocean? River, coral reef,
lake, coral reef. What did Dr. Masaru Emoto see when he froze fresh spring water and looked at it
under a microscope? Nothing. Broken and messy crystals, sparkling crystals like snowflakes,
sparkling crystals like snowflakes. Isn't water wonderful? And if you want to join me,
