Meet the 10th Mountain Division | GOARMY​

The mountains and the cold weather are going to make us world-class light infantry. 10th Mountain Division develops into an empowered team of offensive-minded, self-reliant, innovative, and critically thinking professionals. The mountains form that type of mindset that then translates into light infantry craft. Alpine soldiers are masters of their craft, confident in their formation, and possess discipline inspired by a commitment to a greater purpose and belief in one another. The leaders within this division are bringing back our mountain Alpine heritage that those who came before us started in Camp Hill, Colorado in the 40s and then they bled for it at Reba Ridge, Mount Belvedere, and as they broke out through the Gothic Line into the Po Valley. You go to the 82nd Airborne Division to become proficient in airborne operations and jump out of planes. You go to the 101st Airborne Division to be masters of air assault operations. You come to the 10th Mountain Division to be a master in the mountain and Alpine environment. The mountains and the cold weather and the things that we'll do whether we're in training in Scandinavia or in the Andes or here in the Adirondacks or you name a mountain range will get us mentally and physically ready to go when we're called. Being a part of the Army is being part of something bigger than yourself. It's being part of a team of people that you can trust and that you know have your back. It is meaningful work and so I think it's something to be a part of.
