hey kids so today I'm going to show you
how to change your cabin filter uh it's
the air filter inside of your cabin of
your car this is different than the
video I showed you last week about the
engine air filter it's a different type
of filter that just ensures that the air
is clean within your cabin but first I
have a dad joke for you you know I went
to buy some camouflage pants but I
couldn't find any so as I mentioned in
some of my recent videos I took my car
into the shop because my check engine
light was on and while I was there they
fixed that but then they gave me a list
of all kinds of different things that I
needed to have done on my car and this
was one of them for this service uh I
was quoted
$57.99 I was able to buy it on Amazon
for
$19.67 so for less than 10 minutes of
work I saved $38.30
so I'm G to show you how to do it today
let's get
started so the cabin filter is usually
located just behind the glove box so
what you need to do is you just need to
squeeze the sides here squeeze that and
then there's just a couple stoppers on
either side there's a little stopper
there and one on the other side too and
then just let that down and then right
behind that you'll be able to see the
filter it's right here behind this black
cover in my case it's a black cover just
squeeze that pull that out and that
exposes the filter there so now we're
just going to go ahead and pull that
out and you can see it is pretty darn
filthy and pay attention to which way
it's facing too cuz that matters and see
how those uh stripes are faced up I'm
just going to put it right back in the
way it came out put it right back in
might have to jiggle it around a little
bit to get it to fit perfect but
just kind of work it and
then slide it in
there okay shouldn't be too difficult
you can even compare to make sure it's
the same as the one you pulled out
before you try to put it in so now it's
in and we just replace that plastic
cover snap that back in place and
reverse everything that we did to remove
it and then now we're just going to
pinch those sides on the glove
box and
put it back in place to get past those
Stoppers pinch that
in and you're good to
go all right I hope that was helpful for
you what I would suggest you do um
before you attempt this is just go look
and see if you can figure out how to
open up the your glove box and squeeze
those sides together and pop it out and
see if you can do it maybe before you
buy the air filter just to see if you
can do it for for yourself cuz as you
saw it was pretty easy and I know my van
is the same way as my car really similar
you just squeeze those sides in I'm not
sure when they started putting in cabin
filters but all pretty much all the new
cars have them so just wanted to show
you how that was done so I hope that was
helpful for you thanks for watching and
God bless you
