Mirra Andreeva vs. Wang Xiyu | 2024 Wuhan Round 1 | WTA Match Highlights
Just the one break necessary.
For Andrea, but she had one
extra in the third set that
got her across the line.
Well done changing the pace.
And I think she needs to use this here.
Couldn't keep up as Andrea
but dragging long to improve.
A good effort from see you
keep that rally alive as long as.
Now Wong just can't control the
return and Andrea outlasts.
Seven walks in you for the opening set.
What a dynamic 57 minutes.
Some terrific tennis at a high level.
But once again, it's the 17 year old.
Making her top 20 debut,
who takes the opening set 76.
That's pretty good defense from
both players on each side,
but for him down the line of
people who always hit so well.
Pretty good 2126 for Andrea,
but but Wong even better.
Only losing three points.
Yeah, I was going to say that to
mention the quality of serving up
to the tiebreak for both players.
Great recognition for Andrea,
but there's only one thing long could do.
045 for mere Andrea throughout this
match on breakpoints conversion.
Perfect timing and Wong close
to salvaging this fifth game.
Game and Wong has to go the hard way.
And the ascension of the
teen sensation continues.
The remarkable 2024 season
7663 rolls on in Wuhan.
Her debut of this WTA 1000 event
knocks off one of the Chinese
hopefuls in route to a straight
sets win and she finished strong.
Winning 16 last 21 points and for the
17 year old victory feels oh so good.
She's got one under belt as she
wins 7663 an hour 44 minutes.
