Civil Defense Cave and a Murder Mystery

where are we going Dave so right now we're in Rexburg Idaho and we're going to two cave systems civil defense caves and Ice Caves I'm going to look at the camera and not drive okay perfect you be my eyes watch out the breaks don't work very well you doing all right back so far hopefully we'll be alive all right [Music] [Music] Now Dave thinks he's a pro but if you saw what he did the other day when we stopped at the drive-thru he would know he wasn't hey that was a pro move the drive-thru was moving too slow is this the way to the Cav it's going to be like nope this is where I kick you out damn got to use four whe right now [Music] holy you feel a temperature difference immediately oh there's one of those swallows or Swifts I feels good though it's the 90s today you know yeah it's contrast it's hot out so it definitely feels nice in here so this is the civil defense cave which was also used or was going to be used if there was a nuclear fallout and apparently Dave was saying that the cave goes back and well a long long long way yeah but also he was also telling us they found some remains of material and they kept on digging then they found some human remains and apparently it was the body of a an outlaw who had committed loads of crimes back in the day Outlaw and murderer Joseph Henry Loveless was murdered and his body dumped in this cave in 1916 he was aged 46 his torso was found wrapped in a burlap sack in 1979 and his arms were found by a little girl in 1991 the head is still missing true story well shall we go down there and see how far this section goes maybe we can find yes let maybe we can find another Outlaw okay the way down is going to be a I think over here looks like the safest route oh it looks like it just it uh it Peters out is out just here actually it's not very big at all and this was where the body was found all right so Dave's leading the way we're getting ready to head on over there taking our time rocks are slick having a kind of flashbacks of the lava tube and pepper sauce cave pepper sauce cave which that one was super cool cave still one of my favorites oh yeah we can check check the video out out on that one yeah very slippery slippery and sharp sharp Jagged rocks really really slippery ow and sharp s slippery sharp my goodness temperature I can actually see my breath which is feels nice actually oh Dave being all cocky and climbing over that way so how far did you say these go back two to three miles does it today really wow I don't think we'll be uh venturing the whole 3 miles or 2 miles any cool stuff left there's a look back we haven't come in that far it's just uh taking a little while to clamber over those rocks and stuff and now we're back to this looks a lot like those Lava Tubes we explored now the ground way I think isn't is this a lava tube it's a lava tube it is a lava tube it has to I mean look at the uh the bottom what we're treading on and look at how tall it is it's big the paint kind of takes away the mystery of it all yeah cuz then it's it just kind of shows you you are close to humanity where sometimes these places that they're so far out that I mean that there's that one guy that that lost his life in here it makes you wonder whether or not there was anybody else and whether or not this place is actually haunted you could see all the the humidity in here oh okay lights off right let's do lights off one 2 3 oo spooky that's pretty neat looking actually you can see the looks like a mist or a ha turn around to just turn around to go the way we're going into the pitch h no black absolute void what is that I think we finally seen our first shadow person Andrea don't freak out but I think there's a ghost next to you do they look a lot like me well it it's moving I can't get keeps moving it's all over the place it's moving okay firstly smell can you smell the paint fresh spray paint this fresh spray paint yeah but what I was going to say was you look at these rocks and they've obviously come down but it it's like where have they come from yeah some of we could see that where it's kind of peeling away oh look up there actually that looks like that might come down well that will come down eventually and there's a drip and then it does look like this one right here that perfect this one yeah that like rectangular shape PR you're right some of these that are oh wow oddly shaped American flag there we go oh and wow look at this crack here you see it yeah goes right right right down yeah it's like that lava tube it just kept going and going it's getting there narrower hang on mind your head yeah it's getting kind of tight down here oh it's getting a bit uh you can really see where like the lava has flowed oh wow we're quite high up oops so finally and it opens up into a room we've come to the end kind of I suppose you could somewhat squeeze in there but as Dave pointed out there's no more graffiti so so much trash here too oh know all the dark pieces of pens lighters yeah there junk everywhere you know oh I'm not going to say it it I know I get so peed off with people leaving rubbish everywhere and graffitiing mhm but what an amazing natural wonder but I'm just just look nowhere hasn't been touched has been touched with yeah okay long journey back and long journey back to be continued to the next one yeah if you would like
