(Ligue 1 2024/2025): Highlights Le Havre - Lyon

Two sides at the opposite ends of the form table as Le Havre hosted Lyon. Le Havre are on a four-game losing run in Ligue 1, while the visitors have won four games in a row in all competitions. Lyon started this game brightly, and the first real chance fell to Malik Fafana, but his shot was blocked at the near post. Pierre Sarge's sides continued to press, and there was a bit of brilliance from Ryan Scherke, but his cross just went over the head of Alexandre Lacazette, an outrageous bit of skill. Just after half an hour, Lyon's persistence would pay off from an unlikely source. Abner with a fabulous volley to get his maiden goal in Ligue 1. The defender had just returned from international duty with Brazil. Terrific technique. Twelve minutes into the second half, and Tolisso threaded the ball through to Fafana, and he raced away and doubled Lyon's lead. The Belgium teenager tearing it up with his second goal of the season. Fafana in full flight. Just minutes later, Le Havre had a chance to pull a goal back, but Rasoul Ndiaye's shot was straight at the keeper. Comfortable for Perri. With 20 minutes remaining, Tolisso would feed the ball into Scherke, and Alexandre Lacazette capped off a scintillating move. The Lyon captain finally getting his first Ligue 1 goal of the season. Le Havre brought on Andre Ayew in the second half. His free kick was agonisingly close. The Ghanaian international making his first appearance of the season. Lyon had brought on Sai Benrahma, but when he was through on goal, he couldn't get enough power on his shot to beat Desmas. But he wouldn't make the same mistake again. Benrahma threw on goal and completing the route for Lyon. Passing the ball into the back of the net, Mkhitaryan with the flick, and a first goal of the season for Benrahma. So it's five wins out of five for Pierre Chages and co. It finished La Havre nil, Lyon four.
