Los Angeles Dodgers beat the NEW York Yankees in 5 games.
Some Sportsnet LA interviews after DODGERS WON THE 2024 WORLD SERIES
I do not own this.
What a World Series for you.
How does this one feel? You're a two-time champion.
I know. This is everything you can ask for.
The moment we stepped into spring training, we knew what kind of team we had.
And this is a grind. It's a grind all season long.
We faced every adversity possible and we overcame every single one.
And to be here as champions, this is everything.
Freddie, you guys committed yourselves when October began.
How much did that help you guys get here?
That was the kind of group we had.
The guys we traded for at the deadline, they fit perfectly in our puzzle.
And when we started off in this run, we wanted to do everything as a group.
And that's the kind of team we were.
We set out on a mission and we were able to accomplish that.
I've called Freddie Freeman the most inspirational player in the postseason.
Now you're the World Series MVP.
All the work, hard work you put in, Freddie.
I'll say it again, the game rewarded you.
I appreciate that very much.
It's been a lot. It's been a lot.
This makes it a little bit better.
I can't wait to get home and see my old team.
Max and Brandon did make it.
Three-year-olds behind across the country is a lot.
Well, you enjoy this one, Freddie.
I'm going to. I'm going to.
Los Angeles is putting their arms around you, Freddie.
I can't wait to see you, Los Angeles.
We're coming home soon.
Yeah, the parade is out.
Not right now, though.
Freddie won MVP on one leg.
That lets you know how good he is.
I mean, really, it was just a great group effort from everybody.
Whatever. As long as we win, I don't care who does it.
Winning is the most important thing.
Mookie, congratulations.
Just to be in this situation, you guys had to fight through adversity,
injuries yourself to be here.
How special is this? What does it mean?
I have no idea what you said.
How special is this moment?
Oh, super special.
I mean, in spring training.
Oh, God.
Like you said, all those hours in the cage,
that one guy turned their back on me.
Everybody hugged me, kept me going.
I mean, we hugged each other.
I mean, this is a great group effort.
In spring training, this is what we said we were going to do,
and we did it.
Mookie, congratulations.
You deserve every ounce of this moment.
Thank you.
Hernandez, you're finally going to get the parade you've wanted
for so long.
We did it, Dave.
We did it.
We're getting a parade.
There's so much that I want to say,
but I don't feel like getting fined again,
so what a life we get to live.
That's all I can say.
Kike, you put in so much work, so much energy,
so much emotion being a Dodger.
You waited your turn.
You were patient all season long.
You got the opportunity.
What does it mean to you to play such a big role again?
The world, dog.
It means the world.
When I was going through my run in Boston in 21,
I wanted it really bad because I wanted to win a World Series.
Obviously, I had already won one,
but I wanted an opportunity to do it,
having a bigger role on the team.
We fell short that year, but, you know,
first couple of games, I wasn't in there,
and then patiently waited.
And like you said, the opportunity came,
and it happened.
We're here.
World Series champions.
Suck it, Noah Lyles.
Woo!
A lot of guys down there that challenge each other,
and we just look for opportunities
and try to make the most of them for the next guy.
Next man mentality, I'm looking over here at Walker Buehler.
He's the inaugural dog tonight.
Yeah, he is.
Yeah, what a blessing.
All glory to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
And Josh Bard, the bullpen coach.
Cesar Millan, the dog's whisperer.
Hey, and nobody can say anything anymore.
Exactly.
I can't wait for kickoff.
Blake, man, what does this one mean to you?
Everything.
I mean, not everything.
It's so great to be a part of it, man.
It's so fun.
Like I've been telling people,
it's nice to finally put to bed
how great of a manager Doc is,
how great of an organization the Dodgers are,
how talented this team is year in and year out,
and the pieces they bring together.
2020 wasn't a fluke, and this is a testament
to what the guys have done over the last five years
who've been here for it all.
The game seems to reward you.
The game has rewarded you,
and certainly everything's rewarded me.
I've been very blessed, yeah.
The Dodgers are lucky to have you, Blake.
Let's run it back next year.
That sounds good.
