let's two years ago je and bought this
for wi makers home the in southwest
France
had always dreamed ofing a bed and
breaking this reg and when they found this property
it was love at first S and so
they took on the renovations to turn the
house into a home for their family of
three and the stable and barn into bed
and breakfast rooms after almost two
years of nonstop building works they
opened their first bed and breakfast
room this P Sumer and they currently
creating two more

so here in the
room the common thread at the level of
the sheepfold is really it's parfill
that we found in an annex and
that I wanted to
reuse in each
room for the landing in fact and I
find that it harmonizes well with
the color of the
tiles after here the particularity of
this room
it's in the bathroom it's a
paint that I made at home so
it's a mixture of Chud uh with a
pigment and casein so like it was
done before so an application with
a flat brush and a protection to
protect against
splashes at the level of the pigment good the
more you put necessarily the more it will
be dark knowing that upon application
it is already very dark and when it dries
it loses a lot in terms of shade
it's the one that's heathered and it was him
uh who defined in fact the
whole entire piece eh since it's
its color that made us go with
tones like that Jean he tells
me said but what are you doing to me
I said but if you go and see everything will
go from there and and then I found the
tiles the three tiles which are
above were also found in
Portugal ah yeah I I was wondering
where the tile was, I didn't want to bring
an extra light fixture and so we had
some old tiles and we
cut them, we drilled them, we made a support
and to have a little light
next to this storage uh because if you
see clearly in fact it is deeper
than the wall we went to
really hang in the stone wall to
gain depth because if we
had put a wardrobe obviously
it would have been a little bit more
imposing so we started it a little
further away and we came to do the the
wall next to it in fact all around yeah
so and in plaster tile it's it's
very simple but super beautiful I think and
it seems antique the door is found,
well, like everything else when you find something there,
it's really something
unique, well, it's a P feeling
and the seat cushions are the same, I
found it, it's something, it's something
fabric is what he used to make
the beds at the time uh
headboards yeah yeah yeah and
so I made the chair pads
with it but it's a fabric that is antique
but it's in perfect condition eh but
it's an old fabric h and the table
I love and the table well there you go you
find a table you hunt for a table
in these temponl then you come
across a pretty fabric by chance and then everything
matches and uh the same painting is
a flea market friend who had it
for a long time and then suddenly there
and I passed in front of it often eh
but then when the atmosphere was
over I said to myself no but in fact
it This is the one you need for the
final touch I also really like what you
did for the sockets ah
yes so it's the protruding socket
with the small insulators like it
was done yeah that's it 'it's a nice
solution in fact when the electricity
passes through the
ceiling it makes a decorative element a
little bit it's pretty
ceramic socket so this one B
so it's it's Jean who
made it entirely entirely uh we we
had old wooden planks and I
wanted it to have a vintage look I could
n't find a suitable size
for the bed at all so we completely
created it so I designed and he did so
he made the cutouts on the sides
like the banns at the
old time yeah and we have it we still have it
a little bit sometimes so damaged
at the level of the wood for him give
the
lived-in look and with old old
boards that's what's good when you
're under construction is that when you renovate
you always have something lying around
and that you can reuse we don't throw
anything away he put big big
points like that was done so he
pre-drilled he put the big
points but he did a bit like he
did at the time eh he made his
little cutouts of wood and
[Music]
break again the same ones what is it called
parfe parfeuill orou we
find them here and we will find them in
the other rooms
as well and it's a it's a
top of an old buffet he left he
left for waste disposal sites and it was the
top of 'a buffet in fact and so it
hurt my heart to see it
go to the recycling center we got it
back we remade it we made a
tray to put it on and
so we used it to dresser for
the sheepfold and after that it's
papipain yeah so a tailor-made panoramic
I wanted like a painting and
it's true that in summer we open the door
and when we're in the swimming pool it's
continuity to see a landscape I
am delighted with the result I CIS
yes here there was there was coating
it was completely hidden we
couldn't see the stones so we
discovered everything with the the
jackhammer on the other part was
much too damaged that's why
we made the plaster around it but but
it highlights here's the fact of having
found these pretty stones still it
highlights the door and and
the opening
[Music]
so what did you do for us al an
apple and vanilla cake
next I had the pleasure of being invited
into Aurelie je and their daughter
Victoire's personal home this is one of
the most stunning homes that I have never
seen and I can't wait to share it with
you
[Music]
ah so here we are in your wonderful
kitchen so here there was a
staircase in the back
that we broke down to save
a little space and I wanted
something bright here we also
sealed off the staircase to recover the
place of light there were a lot of
stones on the wall that we could not
recover too dirty by time and
therefore not maintained enough so we
made the choice to harmonize with white
and there we found an old workbench from
a framer so that we
shortened it a little bit and that's what
we use here to have an aperitif
on breakfast it's true that we
sit here when we are both
with victory or all three yeah and
it has a nice height too yes it was
perfect it was just a little too
long and we redid all the sides with
trying to find a wood that
matched it so that it would
n't be seen precisely then the worktop
is all made of plaster tiles
so we made the kitchen ourselves to
measure that has was a little complicated
because you have to take all the
ribs and not forget anything so that's
the most difficult but at
least I have I really have enough to
cook with and in storage I have I put
connecting boxes everywhere to save
space and now it's
practical in terms of storage
and so my my favorite is
it's my cooking piano but yes I
see that's it it was really in
this house I only saw that so we
kept the fireplace which we transformed
into a Hte uh and we placed the
cooking range so it's true that
it has an unusual height
but it's it doesn't matter it's the charm
of the old you also have to know how to
adapt and I find that it has its
place here
really learning to cook differently
sometimes with what you find in the
garden and and then you always have
great stories that's what's
nice
yes you want us to go to the
living room so here I'm taking you to the living room and
the dining room so here there has been
a lot of change because we
had a lot of stones uh there was
n't a lot of electricity finally we
just had one outlet so we had to
draw all the electricity redo the
floors it looked a little bit like
a cellar and uh and we wanted uh we
wanted to transform and make the living room here
and it's fantastic because
by doing the openings
differently and always by bringing this
white it gives a warm
couoning side with the vaults finally very
little furniture because obviously it has
an
effect I find it actually breaks in
terms of the decor when you put
large pieces of furniture here so we made the
choice to do like in the kitchen
with plaster tiles for the
TV unit so that's it. is a piece that I have
that I found and which was in
a priory and normally there they
are put like this and there straight away
it speaks to you when you see that in the
in the priories the monasteries often
so it's a very very beautiful piece ah
I'm
[Music]
delighted to have been able to leave it in the
living room and after all it's turned into furniture
well I imagine yeah this table
that one a lot on the right corner we
find and then and then suddenly of
heart and the ban also I love yeah
yes you can come here so there you have you
have our our
sleeping area with our bedroom and
victory room just ah wow oh the
fireplace so it was the living room here
it's a corner living room with the
library and uh and we made the
choice so we made our our
bedroom here and uh we kept the
fireplace as it was, we renovated it
it had a few cracks but
the whole wall behind with its traces of time
it was kept deliberately
but it adds
charm the victory room right here
hop
and it was she who chose all her decoration
ah
yeah so she China a lot with me
and she really made her
world so here on the top floor
we have our neighbor who
either buys us pretty things or
gives us things from his house
that change
and uh he offered us these
magnificent doors and we created something
like a library in
fact with beautiful objects that we have hunted
for several
years the lighting fixtures especially I love ah
that yeah you find them where one I hunt
everything I can eh at the
level of there the base it was the wall lamp
it was found the globe
yeah we have a hike
in the wood of bread which is called
the volcanic balconies and you have
gray stone that's what makes the village a little
special and that's a
very very old house it was there
it was there in the beginning with the
tower which is higher so and there
we were told that it served as a rampart
at the time very very ciur luran cabriè
was inhabited since the Neolithic here so
it was it's really we're on old ones
and there is more beauty to this gorous
property because the prev owner was a
herbalist and aelie decided to keep the
greenhous that he had built so that she
could do her gardening projects in there
and in the adjacent building in the
small C she created the cutest little
Brant shop
[Music]
