[Music] Diamonds And Ice - A Loving Hand Dordogne Peace II - Magnus Ludvigsson
Long time no see, it's nidones.
The chill in the air in the mornings and evenings has been increasing day by day recently.
I hope you're all doing well and have been enjoying life without any changes.
It's already been 9 months since I announced the decision to publish my book at the start of this year.
After spending so much time working on it, I'm happy to say that the book was finally completed!
And today, pre-orders are officially starting.
Many people helped out with the production of the book.
Editors, photographers, designers, writers,
Everyone on the team worked hard to preserve the “nidones” feel while also suggesting expressions that bring out new sides of us.
Thanks to their efforts, even the familiar sights of our home, our life, and ourselves appeared fresh and appealing,
and we were able to enjoy the process of making the book with excitement.
The content of the book was created based on the responses to the survey “What kind of book would you like to see?” answered by my followers.
It includes a room tour of each part of the house,
introductions to our favorite items such as furniture, tableware, kitchen tools, and books that fill our home,
and things I haven't shown much before, like clothes and scents.
There's also a feature on a day in our life (breakfast, lunch, and dinner),
a look at how we manage our household budget and divide chores as a couple,
and tons of never-before-seen content.
I also talk about the things that are important to us in life and work,
and share our “way to make dreams come true” from our perspective, as well as some thoughts on mindset. 💭
I wanted the book to be something you can enjoy not just by reading but also by displaying it,
so I paid as much attention to the book's design as to its content.
I visited the publisher, Seibundo Shinkosha, where I had the chance to carefully choose the types of paper for the cover, jacket, endpapers…
Each piece of paper was selected one by one, with great care.
According to the editor in charge, it's not often that they get to sit down and choose the paper like this,
but by consulting with the designer and editor, I was able to touch and compare various papers,
which allowed us to pick the best combination with no compromises in terms of appearance and texture.
I'm so grateful that we were able to take this time to do it. 🙇🏼
We also asked our followers for their opinions on the cover color and photos,
and we decided on the design that received the most votes!
One of my favorite parts is the smooth print on the photo section, which was suggested by the designer.
When you take off the cover,
you'll find a hand-drawn illustration on the actual cover.
We decided not to use any Japanese text on the cover, only English, which was a detail I was particular about.
The endpapers also feature hand-drawn illustrations.
Actually, I also drew a lot of illustrations for the book 🌼
I even drew the floor plans of our house!
It's exciting to see how these illustrations will be used in the book…
They've been beautifully laid out across various pages, so I'd be happy if you could try to find them.
The most challenging part of the production process was definitely writing the manuscript.
Writing the 120 pages of the book was more difficult than I imagined,
and I spent a lot of time working on it, whether I was at home, in the car during travel, or even in a hotel while on a trip,
always with my laptop open.
Even when the words wouldn't come together, and I felt like giving up,
the process of deeply exploring my thoughts and feelings about the things I love
and confronting my inner emotions was full of new discoveries, and it was enjoyable.
Above all, since I was given this precious opportunity to publish, I wanted to make a book that could fulfill what everyone wants to see and know.
Just like a bible that you want to flip through again and again,
I wanted to create a book that you would want to keep on your bookshelf for a long time.
That feeling was the driving force behind everything.
Four years ago, when I started my YouTube channel, I said something like this in one of my early vlogs:
There are many things I want to achieve with nidones
Publishing a book, creating something, opening a store
One of the things I started doing was YouTube.
I still can't quite believe that the dream I've been holding dear in my heart is about to come true.
Being able to turn my dreams into reality like this is all thanks to everyone who has supported me 💐
I just want to take this moment to say thank you once again for finding and supporting nidones 💐
Thanks to you, I've been able to create a book that feels like the culmination of all my work so far.
I'd be so happy if this book could find a place on your bookshelf as well.
