New decor, more home plans & boarding the loft!

Just when you think you've done one thing, another thing crops up. Oh my god, it's massive up here. We're going to go to Homebase to get a chair that Bethan's ordered. This vlog is getting more and more chaotic, guys. Everyone's on their own timeline, there's no rush to do anything because other people are. Good morning! We've got way too much energy. It's Saturday morning and we are heading off to the gym. We're going to have a Stacy Dooley sort your life out weekend. Because we've just got random bits around the house that we really need to do. We also need to pick up a chair today from our dressing room, so we'll bring you along to that. Gym session complete. That was good, wasn't it? It was. Bethan trained with me this morning. I did. And you haven't done that since probably Thailand, have you? Took me through my paces. But anyway, what we're doing now is we're going to go to Homebase to get a chair that Bethan's ordered to put in the dressing room. And then we need to go and get some loft legs, which are basically stilts for the loft boards, which you can then raise the loft board and keep the insulation. Then we're going to go home and get them sorted, aren't we? Yeah. Sorry, I'm concentrating on it. Found the loft legs. Don't stop in our house, guys. Just when you think you've done one thing, another thing crops up. Just when you think you've got a chilled weekend. Nice trolley, Joe. Be so glad to get this loft done, guys, because it's going to give us so much more storage in the house. It's actually been a bit of a nightmare not having one. Right, we've got the chair in. Another weekend of trying to get stuff in this car. Smashed it. Oh, my God. It's absolutely freezing, guys. It's freezing. What is the temperature? It's been so warm for so long. It's actually 10 degrees. I feel like that's the coldest it's been since last year. It's 10 degrees, Joe. My hands are cold. It's so weird. Literally, last weekend, it was like... Literally, last weekend, it was like 25 degrees. Right, we have just had breakfast. We had a lovely hash brown and egg wrap, which was nice. Lovely jubbly. Lovely jubbly, and now we're going to start boarding the loft. When we moved into the new build, they suggested for us to basically not touch the loft for a year. Let the house breathe or something. Yeah, to let the house breathe. We're not boarding the whole loft, though, are we? No, we're not going to board the whole loft, but we're going to put like... Are they kind of like stilts that we've bought? Yeah, loft legs, they're called. Yeah, and then put boards across them. So much wasted storage as well. We've got so much. I've been up in the loft before, and it's like this. There's actually loads of space. In our loft, we've got rock wall insulation. If you get that on your skin, it's horrible. It makes you really itchy. It gives you a rash. So always remember, put some long sleeves on, and I'm going to go and get some gloves. He's in. Going up. Oh my God, it's massive up here. We should build a room. Well, we could, though. I put these lights... These are actually from the garden, but I just screwed them to the timber because... Look at that. That could be a sick bedroom, couldn't it? Ow, ow, ow. I'm scared, I'm scared. I just scratched my knee so bad. Oh, look at that. Loft legs are going in. We've got one up. So basically, the board's just going to sit on top of the legs. Right, this is as far as we got. And now the drone's gone out of battery. So annoying. So we're going to have to... We'll come back to this later, all right? I absolutely scraped the whole thing. Look at that. This room, guys, is going to be the next one that we are going to start tackling in the next couple of months. So that'll be exciting. So there's a few bits in here that we just need to take to the dump. Like this thing that my parents had for about 100 years, and then we took off them for another 100 years. My sister's actually coming over tomorrow, so that'll be part of this vlog. She's an interior designer, and I think she's going to be setting up her own business with her friend at some point. So they're going to help us design this room, because I feel like the rest of the house I've had so many ideas for, but this room I'm just really struggling with. I just think it's such a box room, and because it's got to be an office as well as a guest bedroom, I just don't really know how to tackle it. So they've come up with a load of ideas, and they're going to come over tomorrow to present it to us. So I'm really excited. Hey hey, took Mills out for a walk, met a couple of friends just for a bit, and while we were waiting for the drill to charge up, now we're going to head back into the loft to finish off the boarding. Aren't we? Yep. We can get all of this stuff, not all of it, some of it's Besson's, but some of it here, up there in the loft. Oh my god! Be careful! What's just happened, Joe? Don't film me. Don't, don't. Right, guys. So, turns out Joe hasn't charged the camera battery properly. Don't know why that's happened, but obviously it wasn't charging. This vlog is getting more and more chaotic, guys. I don't know what's going on. So we're now not going up in the loft again. So we're going to do my chair. Dressing room chair. So if you are new to the channel or you haven't watched our last video, we have just set up this dressing room for me. We've got this area here that needs something done to it, so I thought I'd put like a bit of an accent chair, and I managed to get one in a sale from Homebase, and it looked really nice on the side. Wasn't it one, two, five, wasn't it? Yeah, I think it was one, two, five. You paid for it. Some of the ones that I've seen were so expensive. I'm hoping that it looks good. It's Alex mid-century boot clay armchair cream. Boot clay. Never had any boot clay stuff. No. It's so on trend, isn't it? We just don't have any. That looks like a good size to be fed, doesn't it? Perfect. There we have it. A chair. Right. I'll put it in this corner and then show you. Let us know what you think about the new chair. I feel like it's throwing this rug off now, but I've already purchased it. Joe's palmed this plant off on me, which I don't want because it's not a plant. You need to nurture these plants. Look at it. Yeah, but look at it now. Look at it now. In a couple of days, when it's in this bright room. Joe's killed all the plants. Don't put it on me. You killed all the plants. Please, anyone that is good with indoor plants, tell us how to revive this poor thing. Any horticulturists. Come on, look at it. It looks terrible. It looks a bit nicer in here now, I think, with that chair, doesn't it? It looks a bit less bare. A lot of you were saying to put this mirror in here, which makes total sense, and I get why you're saying it, but long story short, I need the mirror here because I film for Instagram stuff. I know not everybody on YouTube has Instagram, but I take Instagram videos, and it's so much easier to have the mirror here to film than it is there. Quite dark in there is where it's really light in this mirror now. As you can see, it's so light in this mirror now, so it's a good position for it to be in, but we will do something here. We're thinking about maybe panelling up the middle of it or something, but look, we do so much, and there's only so much I can get Joe to do, so we'll do one thing at a time. Loft next. Loft next, when the battery charges up. Yeah. You're going to have to wait for that battery now, aren't we? Are we going to do the soil on the drive? You don't seem too keen about that. It's been there for about six months. What about you shovel? I can't shovel. I can't lift. I ain't got the strength. Joe. Whether you say you can or you can't do something, you're right. Okay, I'll try and shovel then. You can shovel. Should we see if I can do it? Yeah. Go on then, let's go. I'll hold the bag, you shovel. Okay. Anyone who's seen the garden renovation video will know that this pile of soil was about the size of Bethan's car, and now this is what's left over that we need to bag up. I'm getting tired of this stuff. Another layer. I've been begging today guys for literally months. I cannot lift that. How much do you reckon that weighs? 30 kilos, 40 kilos. Would you look at that? Yeah. I think we're going to have to get this drive professionally cleaned. Let's get back up in the loft, shall we? Right, stage one. Check. The drill is charged. Yay! So we have our takeaway in the loft. It feels like a new house up here. Right, so we've got some pegs in, and then as you can see we've then put the insulation back over the top. So we've still got the insulation, and then the board is going to go on top and be screwed to these pegs basically. Lovely. Look at that. It's quite hard to film up here because we're trying to navigate not falling through the ceiling, and obviously it's not very light. I was just thinking about how excited I am to decorate for Christmas. Joe's birthday is on the 18th of November, right, so we're never allowed to even mention Christmas before his birthday. And it's his 30th this year, so a big birthday. But I've said to him the weekend after his birthday Christmas is coming to our house because I'm just so excited for it this year. I loved it last year, and I feel like this year will be even better because we acquired so much last year, and then we can just get even more decks this year, and so it's going to be like a grotto. Right, last board is going on. So we've got six boards that can stand up here, which is going to be plenty of space for stuff that we want out of the way. Job done. Loft panels are up. So now we just need to put a few bits up here, and then we'll get a takeaway and chill the hell out. Just climb up the ladder with it. Don't try and sling it up. But the ladder's not stable, though. I can't. I can't climb a ladder holding onto a heavy suitcase with nowhere to hold. Just go underneath it. Right. Now, flip it. Oh, my God. What a palaver that was. I am so weak. I might stay up here. Why? Cozy up here. Cozy up there, yeah. Still got loads of room, so. Yeah, so we've put like our suitcase, skiing stuff, and extra... Bless you. Well-deserved glass of beer now, I think. Yeah. Got some burgers on the way. Or not. Is it burgers? I just forgot that I was pouring that. I never pour that. Oh, my God. We've got sex education on the telly, because there's a new season. We've only watched season one of sex education, so we're going to watch season two, season three, and then we can watch the new one, season four, because apparently it's really good. You getting some sun? Good morning, everyone. Yo, yo. Joe's been working very hard this morning, guys. Beth has been dodging working very hard. I haven't been dodging, I've been editing. Always you've been going on. We need to get that garden painted. I know, but I did need to edit. And it gets to half ten. What, do you think I've just been sat around? No. Exactly. But that was the plan, was to do the garden. I know, but I'm grateful for you. So, the garden renovation is coming. We're hoping to film it this week, and then we'll get it up. Right, I'm going to go to the shops, because I'm going to go to the shops and get us some breakfast. So, my sister's coming this morning, as I mentioned yesterday, to present, or she's coming with her business partner, and they're going to present to us their ideas for our office room. So, I thought I'd do us a little breakfast spread. And Joe's been working really hard this morning as well, so I feel like I need to give something back. So, I'm thinking croissants, maybe Nutella. Got the brekkie. So, I've gone for pan and chocolate. Do you like a pan and chocolate? I do. Pan and chocolate. So, that one's for me, and then the rest are for... What do you mean? All of these are for me, and the rest is for you. One each, four people. Rice briefs. Ooh, got some shaken adder. Chocolate milk. Bangin'. If you know, you know. If you don't know, get to know. And I've got some protein yogurts, one each. Because they were two for two pounds, bargain. They're normally £1.60 each. So, I've got four of them. Granola. Yep, lovely jubbly. So, I'm going to lay the table. There we go, table's laid. Ready for our guests. Right, so they're in the van for us. My sister and Elijah have just left, and we've just been sat here going through all their ideas for the room. And honestly, it's so good, isn't it? Yeah, it's very good. I feel like I'm so excited about this room now. When they were talking, I was like, I wish they'd have done the rest of the house. I'm really excited for you guys to see it come to life. But just as a little sneak peek, it was really good, because they basically drew out all the dimensions of our room, and then talked to us around the room. Overall, a good experience, I thought. Another project that we're going to end up probably starting. Well, that's pretty much the last major project in this house. Yeah, that is like the one room now in the house that's just like, we need to just get that done. I feel like with the rest of the house, I've had a vision for it, but that room, I just... Because you don't go in there that often. Yeah, I just find it really uninspiring in there. And funny enough, I had visions of having that sort of thing behind the desk. We're going for a race today with our friends, aren't we? We are, which we've just been told is quite smart. Yeah, so we might have to get changed. Right, current situation is, apparently this place we're going for lunch is smart, so I've got changed. You can't actually see my outfit. Now I'm trying to pick out something for Joe to wear, but going in his wardrobe, guys, I think we need to give him an overhaul. I feel like he needs an autumn overhaul, and loads of the clothes are summery, and also he's had them forever. Maybe we'll do that for another video. We'll give Joe an overhaul wardrobe, but I'm trying to pick something. I like this shirt, which is kind of cord, but not as soft. Black t-shirt, white shirt, necklace. This is the vibe with black docks. So let's see what he looks like. Let's get dressed with Joey. We should do this regularly. This is fun. He's dressed. What do you reckon, Joe? Probably the only dog in the world who doesn't like going for a walk. She doesn't like it. She just pretends she doesn't want to go. She also does hate the rain. Look, she's going to hide underneath the chair like that. Mills, come on, honey. The weather has been a bit questionable. It's been raining on and off this morning. We're going to go get some food. Don't know what we're going to get. It's officially autumn. The dogs are back out. Good of you to clean them before you put them away for the winter and summer. What an idiot. Also, I need to get, apparently you can get this spray to make these waterproof. Yeah, it's like sweat protect. Yeah, I need to get some. Like scotch guard or whatever. I can't believe I didn't book. Oh, no. And we're in the car. Vroom, vroom. The smell is in a car seat. Me and me girlfriend's car. Vroom, vroom. I'm in people's car. Is that what it was? Vroom, vroom. There's never anything funny like that. That was Vine, wasn't it? Yeah, Vine, that was it. It was the era of Vine. Also, there was someone commenting on one of, I'd say one of our old videos, but it was actually one of Bethan's old videos about meal deals. Yeah. And it's a chicken triple with coconut water and a protein bar. Very healthy. I like Boots as well. They used to do one in Boots, they don't do it anymore. And I had it literally most days at university. And it was like a salmon salad. Was it a salmon salad? Yeah, it was like a salmon box. And then I used to get a brownie with it. And I used to get a naked smoothie and it was like my favorite thing ever. But I don't even think they do the salad, the salmon box anymore. I hope, I hope, it's after hitching we go. This is the noise that Mills makes when she knows that we've arrived somewhere. It sounds like she's in pain, but I think she's excited. It's so weird. Does anyone else's dog do that? One more of the beans and one... Secured the food. We went to a place called Chili B's in Hitchin' and they do like unreal sandwiches. Chicken, bacon and salad. Unreal. Chili B's is 10 out of 10 for sure. We're ready for... Ready to go out. Ready to go downtown. 30th birthday party. It's not very nice weather and we've got to get to London. Yeah, trains are the gimmick. They're literally delayed, cancelled. I literally feel at the moment like it's either an engagement party, a baby shower, a 30th birthday party or a wedding. Yeah. It's like we're at that age now where it's just like... Everyone's getting married and having 30th birthdays. It's mine in a couple of weeks. We're in a few weeks. But then we'll look back and we'll probably be like, oh, there's nothing to do now. It's the good times. We were talking earlier about how when you get to the late 20s, it becomes like... I feel like there's quite a lot of pressure on us to hit milestones. And you notice that people will ask you things that... Like when are you getting married? Are you going to have kids soon? Oh, like why aren't you engaged? I've met people before and then they've been like, oh, how long have you been with your boyfriend? And I'll say that, obviously, seven years we've been together, nearly. And then they'll email us and they'll be like, why haven't you got a ring yet? And stuff like that. And how do you answer that? Everyone's on their own timeline and there's no rush to do anything because other people are. Yeah. It's like having to remind yourself of that sometimes. I don't know if any of you are watching this and you've been through that stage in your life or whether you're going through that stage in your life now, but you do have to kind of be wary that everyone's on their own timeline and it's not anybody's place to ask you when are you getting married. Anyway, we're getting deep now. And we've got to go to a party. We're going to end this video on a DMC. Yeah, we need to end it. Give you some food for thought until next time when we catch up.
