Hello guys! It's a beautiful day again and welcome back to Dexter's World Channel.
I always say it's a beautiful day because nothing is permanent.
I mean, if you have a problem, it's not permanent.
When there is a problem, there are solutions to the problem.
When we started this farm, we had a problem with the predators.
The lizards and even the snakes.
I'm so happy that we were able to provide a solution and that is by raising native dogs here on the farm.
I have native dogs at home but I really wanted to have dogs here on the farm.
And you look at Bonnie and Clyde, they're already big and they're helping us drive away the predators during the night.
For today's video, we're going to celebrate new life in the farm.
What I mean is that we have hatched dozens of ducklings already.
And these ducklings are in addition to the population of our ducks here, the Muscovy ducks in the farm.
Well, as you know, we started with just a couple of ducks.
One dragon against five hens.
But now we are able to produce more than a hundred of these ducks.
And some of my friends have already tasted the meat of these ducks.
I sold some of them and it's very easy compared to the chickens.
Because these ducklings don't require intensive care during the first few days after hatching.
They can just be, you know, allowed to room around.
But, of course, be protected against the predators because there are lizards.
But they are not that susceptible to disease.
I don't have any virus in mind that is common to the ducks.
But for the chickens, we have so many.
That's why we have to vaccinate them.
But for the ducks, there are no known diseases for the ducks.
As long as they can eat and you provide a good environment, they will really survive.
And come on, let's go to the duck's nest and we'll have a glimpse of what's really happening there.
Come on, let's go. I'm going to the beach.
It's nine o'clock here.
I can see from outside the nest these empty shells of the eggs.
Do you see that?
These are the shells of the ducklings that we're going to see today.
I'm so excited because I just got word that the eggs have already hatched.
Let's see what's going on here.
It's quite exciting.
Oh, the mama is too jealous.
Okay, so I have one, two, three, four.
You can see how many are hatched.
So far, how many have we got?
Sorry to disturb.
One, two, three, four, five, six.
And this one is about to hatch.
Oh, I will help you out.
I'll help you out of here.
Do you see that beak?
The beak is coming out.
The first thing that happens is that the egg is not able to grow, and when it grows inside the egg, the beak pushes the shell so that it will crack.
And when they move, of course, they will be able to break the shell and come out.
We will not force this one.
How do you know if your duckling is healthy?
Well, you would know if they're going to be able to break the shell of the eggs.
The reason is that some of these ducks, if they are weak, cannot leave the shell.
But so far, so good because our experience here is that we hatched 90% of the total eggs that had been incubated.
And actually, we have 16 eggs right here and we expect to hatch around 14 or 13.
And that's going to be new additional duck babies that are going to be enjoyed by our visitors here at the farm.
As we wish to expand the dryland, we are also trying our best to make some plans here for the cattages.
If we're going to be able to extend maybe about five meters from here where I stand, we're going to have to do it.
From this point to that, then that would be a big area for our cattages.
So these are my plans.
And I hope that this will materialize.
Well, of course, in life, we can't do everything at once, which means we have to go through some processes, and we have to be prepared to do it all.
I'm sure that the people who are working on this project will be very happy to see us, and I hope that we can have some patience, of course, because it takes a little more time for us to be able to accomplish everything.
Some of us can do this at once because they have the budget.
But in my case, I'm doing this little by little and I'm excited to share with you the little progress that has been made.
The same is true for the people of the world who are suffering from the same problems.
Well, this is the barn that we intended for our chickens.
But since we've already made a big coop right there, we might as well dismantle this.
The boat is a bit of a sight to behold, but it is a beautiful sight to see.
If we stand there outside, this will cover everything.
So I'm going to dismantle this and recycle the GI sheets so we can still use this on the sidings of our boathouse.
And one of the major achievements we want to achieve is to finish this boathouse in October.
And then we will start the business of offering coffee and some food.
We will start it in a way that is within our capacity to do it.
So we will think big, but do it little by little.
It's a boat, isn't it?
And if you go there, you'll really have that feeling that you're inside the boat because of the water.
The first thing you'll do is to go to the beach and you'll feel the fresh air, the breeze of the air, and the calm and coolness of the environment.
It's windy here, actually.
I am so happy that we were able to develop this one.
Of course, you know that when we started this plan, we literally started from scratch.
We started from zero.
And little by little, with the great hope and faith that we have in our hearts, we have been able to make a difference in the lives of our children.
We were able to have these things.
And these are actually a milestone for me.
If you look at this point, you will also see a different angle of the boat.
And you will see the post right below that is very close.
I am so confident that this will stand up to the strongest typhoon that may come.
I just hope so.
And one of you was very concerned about this.
Well, we don't know.
But we are trying our best to improve and you can make some suggestions.
I really appreciate that.
