Kelly's talk show went on a months-long hiatus due to the writer's strike and her moving the studio from Los Angeles, California. It was announced that the daytime TV program would return for season 5 on October 16. The move is part of Kelly's fresh start after her nasty divorce from her ex, Brandon Blackstock, 46. Their split was highly publicized, and the pair underwent a legal battle regarding spousal support and custody of their two kids, River Rose, 8, and Remington, 7. In June, Kelly appeared on the Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend podcast to promote her new album Chemistry and share how it was influenced by her difficult breakup with her husband. Divorce, in general, is hard. Separation, grief, loss, all of that is hard. I think the worst part is when you feel alone," Kelly told host Conan O'Brien in front of a live audience. She later confessed that she struggled to manage her mental health and work responsibilities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
