Oh my god, I'm so sweaty. I have sunscreen in my eye and it's burning.
Hey there, I'm Caitlin and welcome to my skating channel. Today is going to be the third little
mini video in a series that I'm doing showing you some different skate park basics tutorials.
So in this video, I am going to be showing you how to do a frontside stall. Now for this move
in particular, I do recommend that you have slide blocks installed on your skates already.
However, you can do the frontside stall without slide blocks. That's how I started when I first
started learning how to stall on coping. So it is possible to do. I think it's just good to start
getting used to the feeling of stalling with slide blocks on as soon as possible because
as you continue to advance in your roller skating, the most likely thing is that you're going to end
up getting slide blocks anyway. So just my own little personal tip. Also, I highly recommend
that before you learn to stall on a ramp that you already know how to drop in on a ramp and you
already know how to pump back and forth on a ramp because this incorporates all of those elements.
So if you need some help with those, I do have some other tutorial videos up on my channel already
that you can watch. I will link them here in this video. And without further ado, let's get on into
it. A frontside stall is when you roll up to the coping in front of you and you land with both feet
on the coping. And I found personally the easiest way to start is to literally just step up one foot
at a time onto the coping to get your balance for the stall. And make sure that you land squarely in
the middle of your skate on the coping. Once you've done that several times, practice jumping with both
feet landing on the coping at the same time. The key to a frontside stall is to make sure you get
your knees over your ankles so you can hold yourself on the coping. And once you're landing
the frontside stall, you will then jump backwards to roll into the ramp with your feet staggered for
balance. So that is my little quick mini tutorial on how to frontside stall on a ramp. I hope you
found this video helpful for you. If you are really new to stalling, if anyone has any other tips for
being able to stall, please feel free to leave them in the comments down below. The more information
we can share, the better. So thank you all for watching and I will see you in my next video. Bye!
