IT LOOKS HUGE & CHANGES WE MADE| Ep 5. The Making of Our Dream Home

They were all wrong gosh Well, hello you guys Welcome back to our home Welcome back to our channel. Yes. Today's a fun day. We're giving you all the home updates. This is primetime, baby Well, we taking you like probably for the next like week or two just like giving you some little updates throughout I just want to paint you a picture of what's going on right now So we pulled up to our property today and we didn't know they were doing this. How about you just roll on over here? Did they get it yet? What's happening? Prime paint you guys cluing in yet on what's happening. They started priming for pain There she is so this is the the primer that's going on right now, ooh Well, look up there. What's going on too much? Sorry y'all gotta show you that later on So they have done the stucco and we did it and what's called an elephant ear So there's something helped like an orange peel and then there's elephant ear so it looks a little bit more Smooth texture. Yeah, what we are going for. Mm-hmm. We're really excited We're excited to like see it all come together to get our shutters in to get our stone And I don't think that'll be going on for a little while But also I got to tell you guys about a fight tour and I had I don't win many of these Okay, so hear my heart with what I'm saying right now our house whenever we got the plot of land our builder Oh, the whole story is crazy our builder He pulled some strings to make this lot available for us Because we thought we're gonna have to wait a year to build in the other face and then this lot Opened up praise God. He emailed us. He's like, I think this is perfect for you You want to jump on it? So we did but we flew into town and there was just trees everywhere And we wish we could have kept all the trees but they were all right where the house is so it's unfortunate One thing we didn't know is that there's actually a hill where we are. Yeah, can we go back in the garage? I'm like squinting my eyes out right now. We'll see in the garage So one thing we didn't know is that the house is actually on a hill Which blew my mind and I kept telling to her every time we pull up I'm like babe This looks like a castle on a hill. It's like it looks ridiculous. Like what is going on? Yeah, and yeah and I kept telling her I was like, babe You could walk out from the bottom of our doorstep and walk straight out and drive a car underneath your feet with how high it is She's like no, no, you're exaggerating I'm like listen listen, babe This is easily at the least eight to ten feet up in the air We messaged her project manager and guess what baby? 11 feet from the street to the floor of our home Which is absolutely wild Can I show you walking up the hill? You got this baby, I love you from the floor right here all the way down there to where she is is 11 foot height gap. Look at her go. Those quads are activated. The glutes are working hard. I'm loving this Anyways, I'm super jacked about that. I was a cute photo Okay, you guys it is the next day and We just stopped by the lot not thinking like anything I was sitting on the couch and Tori's like Why don't we go to see if they've done anything at the house today? And then we pulled up and I wish I had the camera recording cuz both of us went They Not only finished the primer, but they painted like the majority of our house today good thing that we're okay with it The what the black frame windows look so good I'm nervous to show them. I don't want to like reveal the entire Exterior, but I can show you just a little bit. Yeah, we'll go show y'all from the back So the reason we came was because we got dimensions from the furniture company back. So we just wanted to make sure They were all wrong Zach replay that replay that Anyways long story short, we forgot a tape measure, which is the reason why we came so we had to borrow it from our neighbors Hashtag awesome neighbors and then we were also surprised by babe. You want to go show them the big reveal? It's hot Flurry gets hot y'all. All right, babe. You want to show them the big reveal what we came in? Oh, yeah We've preface our project manager Luke is a saint he's gonna he's gonna have a mansion in heaven I don't know the guy he's just so patient with us It's important to have a good project manager And whenever we had our whole wall like we're like the couch kind of faces were like the TV is The one we didn't want to make it about the TV But I love sports and we love movies and so like we're not against it And then when we saw how big the wall is we were like something needs to be here as like a statement piece Architecture but a lot of the things that people do nowadays are really really expensive And so we're like, how can we fight in a find an affordable option to make this wall interesting? Yeah, and then Luke came through with tons of ideas. So we did a place but it's an electric fireplace and We stuccoed it Yeah, I know I touched it Is that not epic so we're gonna paint it white it'll all like look like wall, but it has that stucco So it'll have texture to it and the room will feel like layered It'll look more like a portrait let's do awkward family photos in there like, you know, just imagine you right here Okay, anyways, we just wanted to show you that huge update and then the whole back of the house is white and the front is white to you For a little shop I need him to slow down a little bit. I gotta get I gotta get some checks in the mail What was that He just said my kitchen Tori is Lying to you Literally what he just said, okay y'all it's the next day. We're back at the lot We're just the masters looking at all this stuff and they've officially put the stucco I don't think we've showed you guys the other Window the the two most frequent updates that you just watched or a little scatterbrained So we're gonna try to reel that in with some home Updates That was kind of right, there we go, babe, there we go Okay, y'all so they're getting ready to do a drywall probably by the end of next week So they have all the drywall kind of in each room where it's gonna go That update is gonna be crazy for y'all because I feel like that's when the rooms will really start taking shape When it's all just like framing and wood. Yeah, it doesn't necessarily feel like a home yet, but it's about to get really real It's been so good for us to come here almost every day The second you see something for what it is, like when it's framed out, you're like, oh wow I do want like a hanging light there or I do want the the wall-to-wall shelf or something like that But it's it's hard to visualize it unless you're in the house And so being able to come in and look at it has just helped so much Yeah, like we didn't know we wanted that thing until we got in here and we were like, holy wall. That is a large wall Yeah, everything about this wall Luke, our project manager, has crushed because he had to deal with us changing our mind every 13 seconds and We're trying to find the most affordable option to do a unique wall like that Luke really came through and he even got us our exact fireplace we wanted. It's very like minimal. Yeah, super minimal Yeah. All right. Let's go upstairs Hey, it's like a dead salmon swimming upstream We love this window and we love this window, which is why we added that window When the framing went up in this room We realized that the sunset goes down right there And that there was no windows really on this whole side of the house And so we were like, why did we make that decision? So we had them cut this out and frame it which put us back probably a week or two, but worth it No, I don't think it put us back at all because I'm telling you Luke is a saint. He's gonna have a mansion in heaven He did this thing where he was able to cover up the hole Especially where the front door is too and where they were able to move forward with certain framing and certain like electrical and stuff like that To give us time to finish those things until the windows in and then they do the inspection So and they're putting this roof on I think on Monday. Yep This video might already be edited by there's so many things that you just don't know about in terms of how they paint The second floor before they do the first floor roof because otherwise there'd be paint everywhere And so there's there's an entire system to it all that we're learning. Is that free grass for us? doubtful Nobody will know. Oh my god. Oh, wow. I haven't seen it from over here There's so many things that you guys can't see that are being added into the house as well Which I'm sure we'll share and later updates, but we're adding like entire house water filtration And also an air purifier and two or two ACs there's one above us if you see all those air ducts and there's one over there or you can see And so we're adding things like that that you don't really see in a house But it's gonna make it a very clean house and energy-efficient And clean So we have a question for you, but we just got an email with the quote for the couches so We're nervous to check it. Oh No, seriously, we're like Tori won't even be on camera right now So I have a question for you after we check this thing, but if we don't start filming, you know, it was a bad quote False alarm JK. No quote yet. They didn't include the numbers We were trying to do these really cool kind of built-in Come with like a booth seating for our dining where it would go all up in here and we measured it wrong And so I'm sorry, baby. There you go And so we're trying to do that, you know, whenever you get a custom piece of furniture, there's no refunds and so we're like How's it go measure measure twice cut once? Yeah, we're trying to do that Okay, my question. All right, check this out. We're putting an arch door right here right there We have one right there and we have another one right there I like these things called tutor arches, which is we're building a modern tutor home So for me, it's kind of important to have that However, we think it may be a stretch because they're so unique looking and it may break up the whole arch thing happening in our house But I want to put one right here where you don't know what room that'll be yet But I want to put an arch there to the arch So we'll put a picture up so you can see it and let us know what you think. What do you think? I think I'm just curious because there's three arches already and I'm like, I wonder if that should just be Square you know, I mean, so there's like some other symmetry. I'm nervous if we do just one. I don't think there's a door I checked the floor plans. I Don't know Y'all let us know what y'all think. Okay, and then the other cool thing I want to talk to you guys about we decided to get invisible speakers I don't know if you ever heard of those before in your life But actually we'll update you more on that in the drywall because that way we can actually talk about them Yeah, we can actually show you but they're gonna be invisible so we can't show you whenever I was messaging Mike the subcontractor He's from a works and I was like, hey, do you have like some examples I can go see and he's like, well Yeah, but you can't see them and I'm like, I see what you did there pretty much The reason we're doing it is because we don't want this like big old speakers I Guess that'll have to do We just won't have we just won't eat for a month Now I'm trying to be healthy. Y'all are following me on Instagram giving y'all healthy Tori updates Tori's tips All right. I don't know what else we got if this vlog ends here it ends here if it doesn't then enjoy Whatever next thing He's doing our new thing
