ready what song's
that I can feel it could be a purple
monkey on the bubblegum tree are you
ready or not yes filming all right guys
basically there's been some turmoil in
the bass fishing world and I feel like I
have a unique perspective on this exact
topic because I have fished tournaments
against this guy
I have fished not that many against him
in the past year cuz I didn't fish that
Tournament Trail and he went on an
absolute tear smashing them so allegedly
allegedly oh he was smashing them he was
catching them somewhere not during the
tournament on West Point but he was C
catching them somewhere but anyways
dude's name is Curtis Sanders and you
know I don't really want to talk bad
about somebody but he did it to himself
like that's just it is what it is like
the dude deserves everything that he's
getting you know that's one thing I fish
a lot of tournaments a lot of small
tournaments big tournaments you know the
Elite Series I've been in the bass
master classic I fish and I love fishing
bass tournaments I just love fishing
them I mean I fish them on this Lake
behind me all the time once or twice a
week in the summer you know I fish two a
week here in the winter I fish one a
week or I go somewhere else I fish a lot
of bass tournaments and the worst thing
you could hear is that somebody is
cheating in bass tournaments like it's
fun people get off work they work Monday
through Friday they got a tournament
coming up this Saturday I mean I got
buddies dude that will be calling me and
we'll be talking fishing the
tournament's two weeks out man they're
gearing up for it and getting Rod ready
it's supposed to be a source of
relaxation and you know a sport or an
activity whatever you want to call it a
tournament and a way to get away from
your wife and kids it could be that for
some people it's not for me but it could
be that for some people but anyways the
the deal
is it's not supposed to be like this you
know bass fishing recently has so much
negativity on the Ford face and sonar
you know all the payouts everything the
rules this league versus that League
everything seems to be really negative
lately in the bass fishing world and
that's just not the way that I visualize
bass fishing like I don't visualize bass
fishing as there's something wrong with
everything that happens you know and to
me it's a beautiful thing and it's a
very enjoyable thing and I'm absolutely
obsessed with bass fishing and
tournament bass fishing so for me the
negative is tournament cheaters is the
negative and I'm going to say this I
think there's three times where I knew
somebody was cheating or one time I was
like 95% sure two times I knew they was
cheating this past time on West Point
like 8 years ago in a small pot
tournament on on week on a weekday
tournament we we uh got notified that
there was a basket under somebody's dock
that we knew and we went before the
tournament and some buddies of mine
actually got on the dock and found the
basket I was right there saw the basket
saw the fish in it and the dude didn't
even win the tournament we let him weigh
in I think he came in like third didn't
even get paid we let him weigh in and
then confronted him and he agreed never
to come back there was another time
where we'll fish a tournament on this
Lake and it was really sketchy dude
weighed in like two six Pounders and a
12-in spot and you know just it he
already had some stuff going around
about him there's been some sketchy
people that have popped up but as far as
proven 100% has only been twice you know
and one time was recently in a Bass
Trail that I've actually fished a lot
you know the dude
one you got keep in mind some of these
tournaments have 80 90 100 boats in them
especially the ones early in the spring
will have 100 boats in them for these
tournaments so you talk about people who
are really really good and fish these
tournament Trails every single year and
over their lifetime win six or eight you
know because there's a hundred boats in
it and you only get to Fish 10 of them a
year if you're exactly average you
should win one every 10 years if there's
100 boats in them and there's 10
tournaments like it's not good odds that
you're going to win them it's like
winning an elite basically yeah you're
like you're not supposed to win them
that often now when you get closer to
Summer and in the fall the boat the
participation will dwindle it'll get
down to 40 50 boats maybe if they travel
to far away Lakes there maybe be 30
boats but steel is hard to win like
steel is very very difficult to win this
dude won six of them this year three in
this one Trail that's the biggest three
of them in another Trail and then he won
some big benefit tournaments also they
got the six before somebody did
something they couldn't catch him that
was the deal so I'm going to tell you
the back story on this guy basically
years ago he started fishing the
Wednesday night tournaments which I mean
some of them will have 40 or 50 boats in
them in the spring they used to the past
couple years it's been capping out in
the mid-30s probably 30 35 boats but 5
years ago me and hunterwood fish some
had what 45 50 boats in them some big
big fields for you know a 4H hour
tournament and he went on a tear where
he won like eight or nine in a row you
know some people told me it was 10 in a
row that's absurd but he won a bunch he
got into some kind of a disagreement
with the guy who host the tournament
who's a good dude like I've never had
any any disagreements with him ever you
know he's a good dude that host a
tournament and he got into a
disagreement and basically was told just
don't come back so he wasn't proed
cheating then but there was speculation
around him then fast forward he won a
few times uh you know for a couple
another year too he did really really
well and basically what happened was he
people were accusing him of being shady
something weird was going on nobody knew
anything about this guy he fished around
for a long time fished by a ton and then
he started fishing with a guy who had a
really good reputation and they fished
together for like two years and from
what I was told they didn't do very well
they they got like one check and I'm not
trying to talk bad about the guy he was
fishing with you know but they didn't
have a great performance well they had a
fallen out and for the past two years
this dude's been on an absolute tear
he's been smashing them
so you know and I'm always hesitant to
say somebody's cheating because I had
people accuse me of that you know and I
know for sure I didn't you know but that
was a long time ago before anybody
really you know knew that I was pretty
good at Bass Fishing that I don't want
that to sound sound bad but that that
was back then and uh you know basically
I always give PE try to give people the
benefit of the doubt until it gets to a
point of absurdity and this year it got
to a point of absurdity I know that I'm
good friends with the tourament director
of The Bass Trail and you know I'm
friends with the owner of the Bass Trail
and the owner of the marina that it runs
through we got a blue jay he was
beautiful it was pretty just pop right
down there to make a cameo did you get
any film of him I don't know probably
not he was gone quick when he turned
over that way but he was pretty anyways
I'm good friends with a lot of guys that
fish those tmit like I talked to the
tmit director you know on a weekly basis
a lot of times whenever I'm home so you
know I know what they were trying to do
and they were trying to to prove that
this guy was cheating or alleviate the
doubt so they they did a series of
polygraph tests I think he got
polygraphed three times for sure maybe
four times this year and he passed them
all which is unfortunate for the
polygraph test and actually the same
polygrapher that polygraphed him
polygraphed the Anglers for the
Bassmaster Elite events on on in Alabama
so I think so he got polygraphed and
still was like people think I'm cheating
but I'm still about to do it yes he got
polygraphed so this is the story I was
told I just know a Walmart self checkout
hate to see that
man right so yeah I can't imagine he
goes in there and scans everything after
after cheating in a bass tournament he
goes back and he's like excuse me the
barcode on this one wouldn't scan want
to make sure I pay for all my groceries
yeah well what do you think he's
scanning Kool-Aid packets for
TVs for sure got to be especially now
yeah so they don't got his money back
you spoiling it you spoiling the whole
the whole story but anyways so the guy
got polygraph and the story I was told
was the first polygraph he telling this
story like a 60-year-old mom I'm trying
to preface it the the first polygraph he
got he was super scared is what I was
told like you could see it in his face
he was super scared he was about to get
caught then he passed it but then for
the second two he was really cocky for
the polygraphs so anyways they knew
something weird was happening he went to
Lake Martin in Alabama what weighed in
like 16 lbs second place was 112 which
is respectable on Lake Martin 16's kind
of absurd but he's been weighing in
these big big bags when second place
will be 12 or 13 lbs and another thing
is everybody said when he got back to
weighin every single time he would have
seven fish in his Live Well for whatever
reason he would have seven and then he
would call at the ramp which is illegal
but they're pot tournaments people don't
really police it that well and basically
I think what that was was he was trying
to pick out exactly the right weight he
needed to win the tournaments and throw
back the other two so anyways going fast
forward to this fall whenever it all
kind of came to a head he had been
polygraphed three times this year in the
last the championship of the
tournament they they have a meeting they
have a cal cuta he stood up in front of
the meeting and they were trying to
enforce a rule where you can't fish
together you can't fish alone but so
many times in a year because these are
team tournaments these are Club
tournaments a lot of people fish with
other people throughout the year they'll
Sub in for somebody and just you know a
lot of people are just buddies fishing
getting together fishing well he's
fishing alone and catching big bags and
it's sketchy so they're trying to
implement a rule where you can't fish
alone in every single tournament which
is a team tournament you can't do that
in a lot of big team tournaments so he
gets up in front of the meeting and
tells everybody I'm just better than
y'all if y'all didn't suck so bad and
y'all could catch them as good as I did
y'all wouldn't be trying to make rules
y'all would be just catching them and
beat me but because no way this man
because I'm the best around here this is
this is the craziest part of the whole
story because I'm the best around
here y'all are trying to make up rules
against me and he stood up in front of
everybody and was talking and saying
this stuff super arrogant he's not had a
week to collect his fish psychopath
better better have a bigger bag yeah
that's it's that's unbelievable that
somebody could get up in a meeting and
say that so for the tournament somebody
followed him he ran up to it his son
came down and fished the tournament with
him they ran up and a boat followed him
and watched them and they caught like
132 lb while somebody was watching him
so it kind of people were like well dang
that's a pretty good bag on West Point
in the fall so people were kind of like
dang maybe he is catching them because
that's a respectable bag and they it
kind of removed a little bit of Doubt
for a little bit day two I think he had
somebody following him on day two also
caught 14 lbs so everybody's like he
came in third in the tournament it was
legit this time everybody's like wow so
fast forward 2 weeks later there's a
benefit tournament on West Point some
people that work for the state I believe
was out checking the buoys because the
lake has a draw down and they came up to
a buoy saw a rope tied to the buoy
pulled the Rope up had seven bass on it
estimated 192 lb tied up to a buoy well
in the benefit tournament oh say that it
was posted on Facebook and then taken
down like a minute later and say that I
was I seen it while it was up I was
there yeah so it was posted on Facebook
that there somebody had tied up fish
some of my buddies
sent me the stuff you know cuz they know
I'm not associated with the guy sent me
the stuff and then instantly got the guy
who posted on Facebook to take it down
off Facebook so that the guy wouldn't be
able to see it so the guy who you know
kind of heads up the stuff and is in
charge of a lot of the marinas a lot of
the stores around there and kind of is
the owner of the Bass Trail he basically
took his John Boat and went to the bank
and got on the bank and was waiting
there before daylight for the tournament
blast off and he's sitting there trying
to film so did they remove the fish or
leave took the fish off the guy comes
running down there in his boat after
blast off he runs straight there pulls
up to that buoy he has a rod in his boat
a metal pole with a hook on it and he's
digging in the water trying to find the
Rope he can't find the Rope so he bends
over the side of the boat and he's
digging his arms in the water trying to
pull it up and the whole time the guy
who's you know in charge of the bass
Trails over there which this is a
benefit tournament but still it's the
same group of fishermen that fish it
he's on the bank filming and he's
watching him do it and he sees them do
it and he's got him dead to rights
caught the dude can't find his fish he
stays there for like five or 10 minutes
gets up and goes fishing well he comes
back to the ramp that evening and they
confront him and tell him what what they
they know for sure now that he's
cheating all this stuff and the dude has
the audacity to ask if he's still
allowed to weigh in in the tournament
because he actually caught them fish the
ones he's gotten his live well he
actually called him am I allowed to
weigh in in the tournament it's
unbelievable like 13 or 14 lbs he
actually caught him and he said am I
allowed to weigh these fish in it's
crazy that's unbelievable to even asked
that so after that tournament you know
they tried to they were going to you
know try to get the guy to give the
money back so they had told people do
not try to fight him here somebody
should have punched they didn't want to
because they wanted to have a lawsuit
where they could actually get some of
the money back so they came and they
negotiated and they got stuff to where
the dude actually paid back back the
money that he won this year he he
brought it and he paid back the money
that he had won for this year and he
agreed to never come back and fish any
more bass tournaments forever so I mean
I'll give him credit that he paid the
money back from this year that's the
only credit you can give this this
scumbag but he paid the money back for
this year and the Bass Trail and the
bass clubs have been diving up the money
and paying it to the people who it was
supposed to be paid to so that's good
I'm glad that he did that and you know
but it shouldn't have ever came to that
but anyways one of my really good
friends who I talked to a lot he
actually won the tournament he had 17
PBS in the benefit tournament on Lake on
uh West Point and he would have lost if
the dude would have got his 19 and half
pounds he had tied up so that was
$33,000 right there that my buddy won in
a tournament which you know he wouldn't
have won if the dude would have been
allowed to do what he's been doing so
terrible story but I feel like it's I
fish them tournaments all the time like
I fished That Bass Trail a bunch and you
know it's it's crazy to think that that
happened this close to home but I knew
it was coming cuz I knew this guy and i'
heard the story so much and a lot of
people man we all fish with each other
like I fish with three or four of those
guys that are in that in that club I
fish with them over the years you know
in tournaments here and there everybody
it's kind of a close-knit community most
people that win everybody knows them
everybody's fished with them seen how
they fish they understand why they won
it's very rare that somebody comes along
and cheats like this like I really do
believe it's an anomaly to cheat I don't
think it's running rampant I don't think
a lot of people are cheating these
tournaments I fish them all the time I
genuinely do not believe that cheating
is rampant in these bass tournaments
like I would be surprised if it was
happening a ton so but it was definitely
happening this this time and they called
him and I knew they were going to catch
him eventually I didn't know how long it
was going to take so unfortunately what
do you think he would do like go get the
fish and then like go to the bank scroll
on Tik Tok or eat some Buffalo a wings I
think what he would do was he would get
the fish and then he would go get the
get some for the next week I think go
catch them for next week well what in my
opinion what he would do is he would get
the fish and then he would go to the hot
area of the lake cuz you know which area
is typically going down it may be down
the lake it may be in this Creek it may
be up the river whatever it is he would
kind of just go up there and be seen
around some of the best locals so
whenever the other locals come in and
they've got 15 lbs 16 PBS and he's got
19 like well he was around me all day he
was in the best area so it seems like he
was kind of getting the fish and then
going to the best areas of the lake and
kind of just being seen and fishing
around and occasionally he probably was
culling you know occasionally but you
know it's unfortunate I hate it but I'm
glad it ended the way he did and he he
gave the money back to the people who
should have had the money and glad he's
out of here you know so hopefully he'll
never be another bass tournament for
ever I just can't believe he stood up in
the meeting and said he was better than
everybody that's unbelievable anyways
guys we are sitting right here in my new
bass boat the next video will be a
complete walk through of this brand new
unknown bass boat so we'll see y'all be
a cheater don't be a
cheater this man stood up in the
main they say he talked for like 20
minutes
