It's a fact that everyone likes this little guy, either because of his inexhaustible energy or his soft fur
But what not everyone knows is that the Korg has two variations, which are considered different breeds
The Karsgan Welsh Korg and the Pembroke Welsh Korg
The Karsgan Korg was brought by Celtic tribes from Central Europe to the country of Wales, where it has been for more than 3,000 years
Many believe that hundreds of years later, when the Vikings invaded Wales
Their spitz-type dogs crossed with the Karsgans, giving rise to the Pembroke Korgs
Until 1934, after a lot of confusion and mixing between the breeds, they were finally recognized as being different
Perhaps the clearest difference between them is the fact that the Karsgan has a long and curved tail
While the Pembroke, due to a hereditary trait, simply does not have a tail, or it is too short
Among these two, the most popular is certainly the Pembroke
And perhaps the British royalty has an important role in this, as Queen Elizabeth II already had more than 30 Korgs throughout her reign
They are one of her registered brands and even gained space in her memorial in London
According to FCI standards, the Karsgan Korg can measure up to 30 cm and should weigh the equivalent of its size
Its fur should have shades of blue or red and can be tigered, with or without white spots on the face, neck and paws
The Pembroke Korg should measure 25 to 30 cm and weigh 9 to 12 kg
Its colors vary between shades of red, brown and black, with or without white spots
There are Galician legends that tell how gnomes and fairies went out at night and used Korgs to be their mounts and pull their carriages in battle
But calm down, these little cows are not war dogs, in fact they are great work dogs in the field
And their importance was so great that whoever hurt or stole a Korg in galleys was rigorously punished and fined
In the past, farmers let their Korgs deal with oxen and cows, as with their low stature and great agility, they avoided being hit by things
To tame the cattle, these Korgs barked a lot and gave small bites to the calves of these animals, and this custom was passed from generation to generation
Maybe that's why your Korg loves to play biting, or bark at anything, after all, it's in its genetics
But be careful, dogs don't notice, and maybe you haven't noticed that it's biting a little harder, barking a little louder, and the situation can get out of control
That's why educating your dog since it's a puppy is highly recommended, and know that you can do it yourself
