Two easy Stick Tricks you must know

Hey what's up everybody, Simon here and today I want to talk about playing drums with stick tricks. All right and the first stick trick that I wanted to show you is this one. All right that's it for today, I see you in the next video, goodbye! No, all right so here we go. Stick trick number one. You take your hand, right or left, doesn't and put the drumstick in between your index finger and middle finger and see that the weight is like in balance. And then you start moving your hand in circles and give it a push with your index finger like this while you turn your hand in circles and then you start feeling the stick to twirl a little bit and then you try it again in speed and it feels a little bit uncomfortable at the beginning like when I do it with my left hand it totally sucks but you get used to it and then maybe you can do it like with my right hand. Okay and you can use it in like you saw in the introduction, you can use it in like rock beats when you only play bass drum and snare drum and then you can show off with one hand and twirl it like hell or not. One, two, one, two, three, four. So I have an excuse because it's so hot in here and my hands are really dry it doesn't like move like I want it to but maybe I just am so bad with it. Okay, next stick trick would be this one. Oops. Okay, so this one is like throwing a frisbee. You start and then you throw. Oops, sorry. Next one and then the stick should twirl around or above your hand. Let me take the other camera so you can see a little bit better. Okay, so throw it like a frisbee and then your stick will fly like this and you control it with your index finger and thumb. Thumbs up. So one more time slowly, throw it like a frisbee and then open your hand, twirl it and catch it back. So maybe you practice in slow-mo like this, open your hand and go back and then you try it a little bit faster and your movement gets much smoother and at the end it looks like this. And this stick trick I saw the first time I think John Blackwell did it and you can do it in two movements. You can do it while you reach out for a cymbal stroke upwards like this or you can do it when you are already up and you want to hit the cymbal right away. So you go down and twirl it and crash the cymbal. So it's like you're up, go down, going up, going down, going up, going down. All right and you can do it with both hands together like this. So be careful not to hit the microphones or you can do it like left and right, left and right and then you can do like some crash action or when you want to do a riser with your snare and bass drum you can reach out with both hands together and go.
