Hi guys, welcome to Tormund's Drum Bash, my name is Simon.
And today I'm going to show you one of the most, if not the most iconic drum
fill of all time, Phil Collins in the air tonight.
So what would an iconic drum fill series be without this legendary drum fill?
Of course, that shouldn't be missing here.
And if you know more fills that should not be missing here, subscribe to the
channel, hit the bell and leave a comment with your favorite iconic drum fill.
Before we get into detail, I just want to point out that this video is only about
the rhythm of the drum fill and how you can play it with three toms.
It's not about the sound, although we took off the resonant head of the toms.
So the fill is based in 16th notes and you can learn and practice it
with the following three steps.
Step one, play 16th notes on the snare drum only and accentuate the rhythm of
the drum fill, which goes like this.
Step two, still play snare drum only, but this time the accents only.
And step three, put the accents on the toms.
That's it.
Now you're able to practice and play the most iconic drum fill of all time.
All right, everybody, that's it for today.
I hope you enjoyed this one.
Have fun practicing.
And if you have any questions, then please leave a comment and I will see you again
next week Wednesday in a new video.
Until then, Simon out.
Bye-bye.
