[Music] [Music] trink crush them a bit for you Einstein that's okay crush them no one tells me to crush them a bit so I'm crushing them [Music] yeah good morning guys welcome back to my alotment going to take a week off for Christmas obviously but then I will be back raring to go for spring so all the drama of spring is coming very soon so do subscribe if you're new so you don't miss out can you hear the sirens probably let's wait they're not very relaxing are they can you see Einstein there in the background my little Robin friend having his breakfast I always come down here now and try and feeding breakfast every day I haven't managed to get here for about 4 days in a row because the weather has just been so bad but I woke up this morning to Blue Sky sunshine it's very very cold but who cares who cares there's no what is it that the Scandinavians say there's no bad weather just bad clothing something like that I totally agree with that that is literally my motto for life but I'm out here in most weathers but recently it's just been so rainy um that I wouldn't be to film anything or do very much to be honest so oh was gone he's gone he's had enough right so the allotment plot in December I'm getting so many messages from you guys saying that you've just got your hands on a new allotment plot which is such a great Christmas present I mean congratulations if you've just got your first plot now um December can be a little bit of a tricky month to navigate with a brand new allotment plot personally I think it's quite a good time to get one um you've got lots of time before the spring you can clear your space you can start putting in all the structure and sort of sorting things out ready for spring in January and February it tends to freeze over a bit well particularly where I am in South London um it freezes over and then it becomes very difficult to kind of do anything much on your plot and you have to kind of wait for it to unfreeze again so this might be a really good time to start if you just got your first plot this is a great time to clear it sort it all out that's sort of what I'm doing over in my corner um which was kind of really overgrown this year I've decided on a green house guys I've decided on one it's just whether I feel brave enough to order it yet or should I wait for it to be I need to remeasure it as well actually that's the first thing that we're going to do is to remeasure um for the greenhouse so we'll do that this is the one that I'm thinking guys I found it on debony I'm going to show you it oh look at the price of that it's reduced from 748 to 2990 that's a 71% saving that's insane it's polycarb I don't want no I I don't want to sign up it's a polycarbonate one so it's not got like glass what do you think of that that's the one I'm thinking getting but I need to like double measure it and everything and make sure that it's sort of going to fit on the plot and everything but I'm very excited right let's get the tape measure what is this someone's left me a Christmas present in my shed somebody's left me a little Christmas present in my shed I think I know who it is the K and D again oh my goodness thank you so so so much what is it what is it I can't believe I actually have got friends on the alotment there's somebody on the lotman that doesn't hate me it's amazing how's this happened I'm sure if you've been around for a long time you know some of the drama that I've had around here but um no more oh my goodness homemade Christmas Chutney how utterly adorable is that thank you so so so much that is absolutely brilliant oh that is that is absolutely incredible that is I have to get them something even the card look at the card little bird bath they know me so well with the little Robins ice skating well that's lovely thank you let's go measure for the greenhouse before I get emotional right so with regards to um with God what is going on right with regards to where it should go so I sort of asked you should it go at the end of the archway or over a bit I asked on Tik Tok and Instagram as well and most people said it should go off the archway just because I want to have like water water things around it also that's a really good growing bed there and um it's just best to have it on the side and also give me a bit privacy so there are lots of good reasons to have it off the archway I need to remeasure cuz this is um a slightly bigger one 307 CM what is it 37 by 185 okay so if it was to go there 307 by oh my gosh is at the fox again I did sort of encourage him last time but I really can't have him coming around and eating Einstein so unfortunately I feel really bad doing that oh God please do not sit there thinking that I okay we're doing that like that I feel happy about doing that I don't want to chase him away but a lot of you did warn me you know he's going to dig he's going to poo he's going to chase Einstein he's just going to be around I just can't have it guys it's just not it's just not right it's un fortunately I've just got to get rid of him now oh feel awful oh my God it's massive 307 do that please don't do that that's the one then that's the one that's the one and it discounted so heavily how could I say no am I going to do this all right oh God I ordered it I've done it I've done it oh God I can't believe I've done that I've just ordered a greenhouse I've just ordered a green it's coming now it's freaking coming now I've got to like sort that area out now oh my gosh right let's get going with it I don't even know if I've got the money in my account to pay for that I don't even know how that payment went through do I actually have the money for that I don't know I didn't even I didn't even open my bank account oh my goodness was that was the most can I just say that was the most outch character thing that I've ever done I never just buy something like that but the deal was so good right 748 to 219 massive Greenhouse how am I going to get it to the allotment plot so many questions just didn't think just just ordered [Music] [Music] oh my God sound like that woman in um America oh my God go she know I mean uh what's the face oh my God I can't believe it who is she who's that woman who talks like that in America she's American she's in the White Lotus Jen Jennifer Jessica Jennifer and she's like oh my God oh God I'm a bit Delirious now I'm bit Delirious there's more of a sense of urgency as well now so I'm fre freaking out a little bit freaking out just random ordered a greenhouse I have no idea if I can even afford a greenhouse but I did it I just did it and I don't really regret it come on yes [Music] that's what an hour's work looks like at the alotment plot no bleeding different but I know that I've made progress I have taken loads of those horrible what are they called Blackberry canes out the ground there's so many more to go though some of them I'm a little bit worried about like this one here this is so big he's been growing for years and years that's going to be a nightmare to get out there's also a tree stump here which you didn't know so the greenhouse is going to have to start in front of the tree stump at least hi Einstein I'm going to remeasure and make sure that fits now got5 yeah all right it'll work it'll work this is quite a big job and um the greenhouse was coming in the next week so I'm not going to be able to put it up then so it's going to be a clearing job for a few weeks I [Music] [Music] think right I just thought I'd come and check on my cauliflowers these are my cauliflowers they're all different colors um I brought like the purple ones and the bright orange ones just cuz they're so fun I've tied them I've tied all their leaves together so they're kind of protected from slugs and snails let's have a look how they're doing oh yeah he's doing all right he's doing okay he's not very purple though you think he's supposed to be purpler than that there's a few little snail poos on here but you know what there's no snail or slug damage which is really good so they're obviously sitting on top of the leaves unable to get to it so it's working that's good I'm going to I'm going to cover him back up cover you back up mate and retie you and we'll check the others check this one this one's not got very big is a bit concerning it's supposed to get bigger it appears not to have got bigger oh no oh no you know what there's a slug in there he's had the time of his life this little slug he's had the time time of his life he's loved it in there like I said before that's equivalent to trapping me and Ikea I just eat all the food sleep in all the beds oh so that one's not worked that's a shame I have a feeling this has gone the same way I can see lots of slug damage lots of slime oh again he's been eaten by the Slugs oh unbelievable oh it's just not worked it's just not worked on these ones this one and that one definitely have just not worked oh what a shame you know what though you can't win them all and I still stand by that working I think when you tie the leaves over and there's no slugs inside that you've trapped um it is actually quite effective it kind of hides it from the birds as well and everything it just works for me it's always worked it's the only way I've ever got a good cauliflower and I know that is not a very good result from the experiment it's not very good evidence is it for you but just I'm still stand by it works I think I think whatever you do sometimes it's not going to work it doesn't matter how good the idea is and how good the plan is um sometimes it just doesn't work they just get through I mean Wildlife always finds a way nature finds a way that's just what it is what's that from is that Jurassic Park that quote nature life always finds a way it's one of my favorite quotes I think and I think it's from Jurassic Park oh well you can't pick and choose where you get your life quotes from you know if it's Jurassic Park it's Jurassic Park have to deal with it oh well [Music] [Music] oh wow oh wow oh wow this is really germinated this is absolutely fantastic so these these here these are all my salad crops that I sewed um probably just a few weeks ago really I think it's a mixture of like misuna rocket and then a few mustard salads mustard leaves whatever they are very like spicy salads they are all germinating absolutely fantastically it just goes to show you can still sew stuff directly at the time of year and it will do well as long as it's the right stuff this row here in particular let me move you along look at that that just makes me feel so happy particularly at this time of year when things are really looking sad and dying I mean these are beautiful colors oh it's just lovely to see some new seeds and then right next to it got all my little broad beans that I'm overwintering so this should give me an earlier crop of broad beans which would be nice I've uncovered them now cuz they are a bit bigger and they are withstanding the frost a bit more so yeah it's so nice to see stuff [Music] growing right guys I'm going to leave it there today I feel bit overwhelmed at the moment if I'm totally honest with you about the sheer amount of work that I've got to do I know I can do it I know I can do it I tackled this plot and that plot I did it it's fine um but it's just now the greenhouse is on the way it feels a little bit more urgent yeah there's lots of things to be getting on with um so I'm going to leave it there I'm going to be back like so many times now because I've got an actual project to do and I feel really good about it I'm definitely someone who needs like a project and something to focus on and then I just sort of do better in all areas of my life if I have that thing to focus on um and I already feel better I feel uplifted I feel excited I feel hopeful that's all I need I just need a project to get stuck into and I'm just away I'm happy so it's going to be really exciting seeing the greenhouse coming once again thank you so much for my Christmas present um you guys it's amazing um I'm overwhelmed with it and I'm honestly I can't wait to try it over Christmas it's going to be amazing and I will see you all again on Wednesday so have a lovely um rest of your gardening week I'll see you on Wednesday getting busy with those projects on the plot see you then guys thanks for watching bye
