What I Got my 12 Year Old Daughter for Christmas | Christmas Gifts Ideas 2024

[Music] hey everybody Welcome to the Wallock way I'm Jessica and today's video is going to be all about what we got our 12-year-old daughter for Christmas including her stocking stuffers now before we get started and I show you everything that we got her I want to tell you two things number one 90% of what we give for gifts for birthdays Christmases anything is pretty much educational in some sense she will still love everything we give her but we try to make sure that we are sticking with educational type things um number two we have reached the point where Emily is a tween and she has sensory things and so clothing is never an option like I just don't gift clothing it is so much easier for her and I to just go shopping and pick out what she likes when she needs something new it's not something she enjoys it's not something I want to gift because it's always going to end badly so we stick to like books games um educational activities and experiences now with us talking about experiences we have tried to gift an experience as a family for the past five or six years and it's gone over really well so we are doing that again this year um last year we went to North Carolina and we went skiing and snow tubing the year before that we did um annual passes to Disney the year before that we did Universal Annual Passes um we've done things like uh iFly as a family which is indoor skydiving um memberships to our locals well as local as it gets zoo or aquarium um just things like that things we can enjoy doing all year long things we can have fun as a family with um a trip something like that so this year our big gift um is going to be a cruise we are going on a Disney Caribbean cruise right after Christmas so and that is going to be kind of like her big Christmas gift actually all of our big Christmas gifts Kevin and I don't buy for each other and that's kind of what we do is we just go on a big experience as a family with that being said only gets to pick one big I want gift um I don't we don't call it anything other than like you can want one thing so the thing that she wanted this year is a large Lego so it still fell into the educational category as far as I was concerned um and it is if I can lift it up here this large dungeon and dragon Lego set I think she just liked the big red dragon if for being honest um it is 3,745 pieces and it says for ages 18 plus but I know that Kevin is going to love helping her put it together so along with that I did also pick up this um mini figure set to go with it just so she would have some Minifigures it's a surprise with six random ones and I don't want to open it I want to be as surprised as she is so it'll just be six random Minifigures that will go with that so that was her like big I really really want that gift and then everything else um Kevin or I picked out because we wanted her to have it so uh the first thing that I have is a chapter book um Emily loves cats specifically her favorite is the big cat snow leopard so I found this book Wild Oak that happens to feature a snow leopard and then I thought it would be really fun to be able to cuddle up so I also got her a fleece snow leopard print blanket I'm keeping it in this wrapping because it's going to be easier to wrap than if I open it so this will be one gift Uh Kevin picked out a game for her when we were at Barnes & Noble so we have the five minute Dragon sorry 5 minute dungeon um and he picked it because it's you know dungeon dragon type thing we also have another five minute mystery and we really enjoyed it so that's why he picked this one up um and then I got her the architecture scribble book along with this architect electronic smart housee so that will be paired together as a gift I thought she would really enjoy that and then like I said Emily loves cats only thing that she might love second to cats is dogs she loves cats and dogs so I picked up um this book because we have gotten it from the library a couple times and really liked it and I knew she would want to have it it's the Fearless felons um 30 true Tales of courageous cats and then I'm pairing that with the sticker by numbers cats and the atlas of cats so that will just kind of be um a little bit of cat education for her since she loves cats so much and then I did the same thing with dogs since I knew that that was the thing that she loved second to cats so we have the um darling daring dogs 30 true Tales of heroic hounds she's going to love this one because it has Sergeant Stubby in it and she thinks he's like the coolest thing ever that's her favorite hero dog and then I got the sticker by number dogs and the atlas of dogs so we have a cat set and a dog set and then the last thing that I grabbed um is a craft kit I always try to get her some sort of craft and it is this latch hook kit um by Wonder art I think I picked it up at either Hobby Lobby or Michaels but it was two cats so I know she will enjoy that okay and now for her stocking um her stocking really kind of follows the same things if I'm being honest the first thing we got her is exit the game this is the mysterious Museum um we've been trying to put one of these exit games in her stocking for the past couple years I would say probably since she was nine I think we started doing it when she was nine she really really loves them and so they're kind of the perfect stocking suffer they're the perfect size so that's the first thing I picked up then because we were going on the cruise I wanted her to have um a blue Bluetooth speaker this is a mini Bluetooth speaker and it is waterproof we have a larger one that we use when we're out at the pool for audiobooks and music but I really wanted something a little bit smaller and this has like a I don't think you can see it but it has like a a little rope attachment so she can hang it off up her Peach bag or her backpack or whatever and still listen to music while we are on the cruise yes she will download her playlist beforehand um she asked or she's been very interested in a Celtic ring so I did every time we go to a jewelry shop which has been a lot lately because I had to get all of my jewelry resized she keeps having her eye on them so I did find her I don't know if that's focusing but I did find her a Celtic ring for her stocking and then kind of sticking with the same she loves cats and dogs I got her uh the all about cat word teaser trivia and the all about dog word teaser trivia I also got her the cat and dog Mad Libs so we have the dog a my Mad Libs and meow Libs she loves Mad Libs and we always get her one for her stocking um so I just figured we'd pick up two we'd go with cat and dog and then I found a single player cat and a single player dog game I'm always looking to add single player games to our collection especially because homeschool and and only child and I really like to have things that I can say like here go do this um I also love smart games they're one of the companies that make the best single player games along with think fun the great thing is these are seven to adult as far as ages so we will be able to play them for years each of them has I believe 60 yeah 60 challenges from starter to Junior to expert to master to wizard uh so we have cats and boxes and then we have the smart dog agility course like I said both single player fun games she's going to love them and then um top trumps is another one I try to add to her stocking every year there's so many different uh topics I can always find one she's interested in I honestly kind of thought we own this but I couldn't find it anywhere so I did go ahead and grab her the mischievous cats one um and then we found this game at um a calendar in gam store recently and it is catastrophe um it's uh cats are big jerks here's your opportunity to be the best cat you can be break the most stuff push the books off your shelf knock that lamp off your table uh who is that plant doing what is that plant doing in your pot collect sets of catastrophes to win the game and if you lose do it with cattitude she's going to think it's hilarious because it's like a game where she gets to like do bad things so I thought we would add that to her stocking and then the last thing that I picked up for her were two Minecraft gift cards or I guess mine coin cards um each of them are $9.99 so that she could get some of the things that she has been eyeing in Minecraft lately I think there's some like mods or upgrades or something I don't know but she's been having her eye on them to build something specific so I did grab those for her and yes I still consider Minecraft educational so that still falls into my mostly educational gift I would love it if you would tell me
