#painting #fluidart #art
hi everyone! welcome back! I'm doing a commission today I am doing a commission for a lovely lady
named Kenzie and I hope you like it! she is actually going to get her choice of a
painting because she only wanted a 12 by 12. but I love trying out different base color
palettes so it's going to be a swipe. I have a Periwinkle color I've mixed all of these colors
I have a Periwinkle a mint green a light peach and then a kind of a baby blue color.
so I'm going to use each of those as the base and then I'll show you the swipe colors in just
a second let's paint okay so the colors that she requested on the inside were a purple so
most of these are hand mixed except for the phthalo blue I made a phthalo green out of a
um a regular green and mixed in a little bit of phthalo blue to it I have regular phthalo blue
and then her accent she requested was gold and so I am going to take each of these colors and
swipe them pretty much the same way but each on a different base so I think it's going to
be pretty cool I'm going to go ahead and pour these base colors out so this is a beautiful I
don't know if you would call it Mint or seafoam GRE green it's kind of in between then I have
my peach color I was this color is so pretty so pretty then I have my Periwinkle color that she
requested and all of these I self miixed so none of these came out of a tube. and then my light
it's almost like a grayish blue color they're all so pretty all right so I'm going to torch
these and then I feel like maybe I want to spread them out just a little
bit before I start I hope I get these back Centered for you that's watching.
okay got that
one spread this one out this green color is actually really pretty
too I did not think I was going to like that color but it is so
pretty I hope she likes one of
them she has four to pick from so and the rest of them I will put up for sale okay so
now I want to decide how I want want to layer my colors on this one I am going to swipe with
white as I stretched it out just a couple more bubbles came to the
[Music] surface okay all right so what do I want to start
with h and I am going to do I think one swipe here and then a tiny swipe up top so I'm going to
start maybe I'll start e maybe I'll do them all the
same the green is going to be pretty predominant I'm going to go with my blue next
on this set and then I'm going to change up the colors the order of
the colors on the next swipe up top okay I've got
that then I think my
purple and then the gold I think I'll swirl in between them how about that how about that
Kenzie I don't know which one of these I'm going to like the best I feel like I love this color I
love these two colors but and I know that the colors will go well with this one but this
one I'm interested to see how the colors play and interact okay and then my gold I'm going
going to just trying to reuse the same little stick here I think my gold I will swirl in between
them like that I hope this is enough color to go through
here and I think I'll do it the opposite way now for the second swipe up there
let's see these are so small it is so much harder to work on a small canvas
with swipes than it is to work on a big canvas all right so up here going to do my
purple oh that one's going to end up being the bigger one up
there okay all right all right going good so far I feel like those are like last famous
words oh no all right I'm going to keep my blue in the center of each of
them okay
now I'm trying to decide do I want to swipe them both this way swipe one up
I might play around with the composition a little bit what's my last color green
this phthalo green is so pretty and I'm so glad that I added that little bit of
phthalo blue to it I really think it made it fit in better than that kind
of really bright green that I had before I don't know y'all this color is so pretty
okay here's my last
one little bit of
gold little bit of gold I hope that gold doesn't take over whoops I got a little bit of all right
so I have my medium siiz palette knife this is artist L brand from Michaels so I am going
to swipe I think both of them this way I just mixed up a new batch of my swipe catalyst so I
hope that it works well which one do I want to start with I don't know I feel like maybe this
one oh that is pretty oh I lifted up too
early right there but I can tilt that off so that is no problem
my gosh that is so pretty wow do I do another yeah I think
so well my swipe Catalyst recipe holds strong okay all right this one the purple
one don't want them quite to meet and I'm going to go all
the way to the edge on that one and then I can swirly cue them together
all right so pretty great colors I that one's the one I'm interested to
see I also have an experiment I'm going to do soon that is with um a special ingredient and the
Australian flow trol so I'm excited to try that one out I never know if they'll actually work or
not but I do have Concepts that I like to try out and if they work they work if they don't no hard
feelings all well maybe just a little bit of
hard feelings my feelings do get hurt I do have feelings
all right let's see here this one I kind of want to swirl
up and then back down okay that is really really
pretty okay all right almost there
oo I I'm thinking that this green one the green base is actually one of my favorites now I love
this one this is the one that she wanted that's really pretty too we'll see what happens with this
orange okay here we go
I didn't like my swipe pattern as much CU there's going to be a lot
of negative space right there in that one but I'll try to swirl it
together this is going
well famous last words oh no last one
oh that is pretty too that purple on there I love every single one of these bases okay I've
got to get a new paper towel I love every single one of these that is does not always happen last
one okay all right time to stretch these out let me get my gloves on I'm very excited for Arty gr
coming up so I hope that some of you can come out and see me I'll let you know what booth number I
am it's I always have like in between 30 and 50 people that are there that have either follow
me or you know have seen my work in some way or another online and it's so much fun to talk with
everybody I met a lady Tracy um last year she came a bunch of times there were just so many
people and it's so nice to like put faces to the actual people that I talk to online that I have
these like social relationships with okay here we go I'm going to try not to drip them on one
another either because that has happened okay I don't want all of that to go off the side going
to stretch that on down here I am going to twist and turn these so that I can tilt them
appropriately I do feel like I'll go down this way first have that catch and then come on over
and hard tilt it down that way to stretch it out okay this one is very pretty this is the
one that she wanted I do just want to come off that edge just the tiniest bit stretch
that out and then bring it back okay this one is very pretty now I'm moving on to this one and I
feel like it needs to go to this corner first and get that section off then I'll bring it
back oo I like this one too I know I'm a little bit out of
frame I do feel like I probably could have had one more
extra swipe in there but let's see what I can do with stretching
let's see what I can do with
stretching okay now I'm going to bring that back and down this
way I know I'm probably completely off camera for you it's so hard to do four of these at
one time I don't know why I torture myself with that but okay and I know what I'm going
to do in this negative space on this one I'm going to do some squigglies cuz this one the
swipes definitely I had less base paint on this one just a tiny bit and um the swipes
didn't uh hold and travel as far actually going to take my finger and draw into that
here and draw actually all the way through here I feel like up into that one okay onward to
the next one each of these is very very pretty I actually you know what I have a little bit more of
this paint I'm actually going to put it on these Corners why it's always good to save just a tiny
bit I don't need it on that corner really and then the rest I'll save for the sides for touchup but
it's going to help my paints flow a little bit more so I'm going to come off that side first
that way I can save a lot more of the swipe I am going to come to this corner
next and then save that swipe and bring it
back there we go off the side back up down here I dropped a
little piece of gold on there but that's that's
okay this one had a lot of negative space in it as well oh this color combination y'all I
love these okay ready for the last one oh my goodness um so I'm actually going to tilt to
this side first on this one you know what maybe I should use that a little bit of that leftover
right up here as well over here I'm not as worried because I want this to come to the
side over here I may want it a little bit too so if I am looking at my swipe
and the you know it's going to roll off the canvas first then I'm going to try to add a
little bit of paint there to help the paint get over the side and not necessarily lose
my swipe design and same thing over here so maybe just spread that out a little bit all
right let's tilt this one out this is the the one I don't quite know how much I'm going to
like okay right over the side and then tilt it
back I'm gon to I'm already at this corner so I'll just tilt it here
and this one has a different composition to it too which is pretty
cool it is so fun to do four and see how they come out okay do I want to stretch
this one anymore actually no so first I ended up with like a curly q and I didn't
even mean to like a swipe part but I love that corner of that one I am very happy with
all of these base colors you can let me know which one you like I I do think
maybe these base colors were really fun and they're self-made they're self- miixed
so definitely get out and play with your colors they don't have to come
from the tube I do want that one to be oops I swiped a little too heavy there there we go
and then I feel like I want one just very soft around this
Edge this one to kind of curl up through here okay I am happy with these I am going to show you each
individual one I love each individual one it's going to be very hard for me to pick a favorite
here but Kenzie gets to pick her favorite and I'll show you what they look like all right which one
do you like you're looking at all my stuff I like this that's my favorite I mean that one
yeah why why is that one your favorite the colors I don't know colors mixed together yeah yeah but
I mean they're all nice someone who likes purple a purple person might like that a a purple person
and then someone someone likes orang well how would you describe that color what do you mean
orange orange is it orange is it Orange Crush Orange Crush all right good like peanut butter
gold yeah you know people still talk to me about that yeah oh peanut butter gold oh yeah yeah I
have peanut butter in my mind yeah all right so that I like that color too this I would say
is like a peach or a salmon no definitely not salmon okay Peach more peach oranges okay what
about that color that base color what do you think it's a lavender lavender H all right I called that
like a bluish gray that's a lavender when yeah definitely a lavender like definitely definitely
a lavender yeah yep I don't oh on film get out of there all right okay thanks babe for your opinion
on these I just don't know because they are all beautiful this one has more negative space
but the colors Kenzie you did a great job picking those colors this is kind of the
Periwinkle one with the purple it made the base actually look a little bit more purple
as well here is the light bluish gray one oh my gosh that is so pretty I love how
the purple Fades out on that one and then this one this was the surprising one for
me I actually really like that color it's coming across really orange on camera but
it's like this beautiful peach color so there you have it I'll show you how they
dry I must say I love all of
these this one I love how the colors Fade Out to the edge and this is the one she wanted this
is the kind of periwinkle color with the greens and purples and gold and this is the one that she
chose I gave her the option of all of them so I'm so happy for her to get this one she said it was
exactly what she had envisioned this one really surprised me and so did the mint green one um and
my husband also liked that one this color this peach color is so pretty I could have even gone
be a little bit lighter on it but I love it and I love it with these colors too the lacing
that's in there it just worked really really well the um grayish blue of course I love that
one I love that color and I basically made that grayish blue instead of out of the bottle so if
you don't have any you do not have to go out and buy it I love that corner down there and
this one definitely surprised me too you know originally I was like hm looks a little bit
like toothpaste but I really really like it super happy with all of these all right well there you
have it super happy about making these bases love the outcome of all of them the motion is
so cool they actually look really cool together. thanks everybody for watching! happy painting! bye!
