Being his father Jos Verstappen, former Formula 1 driver, at the time that his mother, Sophie Kompen, stood out in karting.
Even his uncle, Anthony Kompen, became champion in the NASCAR World Aero Series in 2014 and 2016.
Max took his first steps in karting at the age of just 4 years, and at 7 he began to compete in several local championships, quickly achieving his first triumphs and dazzling everyone with his incredible skill.
By 2010 he entered the international circuit, disputing several world championships and winning victories in the most important categories.
In 2014 he made his first contact with the world of professional motoring, entering first in the European Formula 3 and then passing to Formula 1, performing as a test driver.
The following year he was signed by the Toro Rosso Scuderia, with which he became the youngest driver to debut in a grand prize at just 17 years old.
With the start of the 2016 season, Max Verstappen continued to show his talent by qualifying 5th in Australia and adding important points for Toro Rosso in Bahrain.
These performances, along with his promising performance since 2015, led Red Bull to promote him to their main team in the middle of the season.
Along with the Red Bull team, Max became one of the most successful drivers of all time, winning four times the world championship, only surpassed by the legends Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton.
Max Verstappen's contracts with Red Bull grew significantly as he showed his talent.
Initially he signed an agreement for three years, 2016 to 2018, with a total value of $13.65 million.
Later, in 2019, he renewed for two additional years, 2019 and 2020, for a total of $26 million, raising his annual salary to $13 million.
In 2020, Red Bull took another step, extending its contract for three years with a value of $137 million, which ensured him an annual salary of $46 million.
However, the most shocking thing came in 2022, when the Scuderia signed with Verstappen a record contract for five years for $275 million, equivalent to $55 million annually, consolidating him as the best paid driver in Formula 1.
In addition to this, Max is today a magnet for important sponsoring brands, such as Tag Heuer, Puma, Honda, Heineken or EA Sport, which generate additional earnings of $5 million annually.
Since 2015, he has lived in an imposing 180-square-meter penthouse in the heart of Monte Carlo, located in one of the most exclusive buildings in the area. The apartment stands out for its minimalist decoration, mostly dominated by white and wood.
This property, currently valued at $16 million, has a 4-bedroom and 3-bathroom interior, a fully equipped kitchen and, most importantly, a huge balcony from where it is possible to enjoy the most impressive views of the Mediterranean Sea.
It also has all the necessary amenities to relax after a long race, including a gym, spa and pool. In addition to all the above, the building also has a very spacious garage, specially designed to house all kinds of luxury vehicles.
Starting with the sober and elegant Mercedes-AMG C 63, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 in just 3.4 seconds, reaching a maximum speed of 280 km per hour. Its current price is about $89,000.
Another fast car it has is the Renault RS1. With a body made of carbon fiber, it reaches 320 km per hour, and its price is $300,000.
While it is true that Max Verstappen fully enjoys the adventure of being behind the wheel, both inside and off the tracks, sometimes other means are required that allow him to mobilize quickly, in order to fulfill his many commitments.
All this matted with high-end finishes, also having the ability to accommodate up to a maximum of 14 passengers. The price of this aircraft is $15 million.
In 2022 he managed to raise more than $250,000 after auctioning the helmet he used during the Austrian Grand Prix in order to donate said funds to the Wings for Life Foundation, dedicated to finding cures for spinal cord injuries.
Subsequently, in 2023, he sold several of his pilot suits to, in the same way, raise funds and allocate them to that same institution. With acts like these, there is no doubt that sports success and solidarity can go hand in hand.
