Long live Tungnath Baba!
Long live! Long live! Long live!
Long live! Long live!
Hi guys, welcome back to my YouTube channel. This is Heena Bhatia and welcome to a new vlog, a new episode from Chowkta, Uttarakhand.
So, you must have understood from the title of the video that we are going for a Tungnath trek to the highest Shiva temple in the world.
And when am I travelling? I'll tell you the date first.
Today is 30th November 2024, so you can say that I'm travelling in winter.
Temperature is somewhere around 5 degrees right now.
We came here yesterday. We started our overnight journey from Delhi the day before yesterday.
So, via Srinagar, Rishikesh, Srinagar, Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Main-Main, Okhimath, we have come here to Chowkta.
By the way, this is a group trip with my subscribers. That means some of you have joined me on this trip.
So, in this video, you'll get to see how to do this Tungnath trek.
And you'll get to know a little bit about the duration and the distance.
So, we are going up to Tungnath. After that, we'll go to Chandrashila, which is 1.5 km ahead.
The total stretch will be 6-7 km.
6-7 km is quite a lot in the mountains.
Keep watching, I mean, this video will be so interesting.
You'll get to see entertainment, beauty, nature, information, everything.
So, let's start this video.
If you like this video, just like it.
Subscribe to the channel.
If you haven't done it yet, it's free.
We are so close to 100k.
And let's begin.
See, how beautiful this is.
So, I am giving you a tour of my room and my stay.
My entire group is staying here.
This is a very beautiful property.
20 km before from the base point, where Tungnath and Chandrashila trek starts.
It's 20 km before that.
But you'll get all the basic amenities here.
Right now, the time is 7.30.
And now, we'll have breakfast.
It's a very good homestay.
And you'll get a good number of homestays in Chopta.
By the way, this is 20 km before from the base point, where our trek starts.
If you want to stay near the base point, there are mostly camps available.
Camps are available at a very affordable and reasonable rate.
Including all three meals.
In Chopta, where the base point is,
there is no network available.
Like Jio, PostPit, PrePit, Airtel, etc.
Nothing works.
This is day 2 and we are going to start our trek for Tungnath today.
And we all are excited.
So, my and my entire group's enthusiasm is very high.
Because we have to do a great trek today.
And after having a healthy breakfast, we are all ready here.
Before the auspicious work, let's have some sweets.
Sure.
Kolkata's ladoos.
And plus, there are sandwiches in it.
So, we might not get anything to eat in Chopta.
Because it is off-season right now.
And the bars are closed.
So, there are less options to eat and drink there.
So, we have packed sandwiches from where we are staying.
There are around 25 sandwiches for everyone.
We have reached the base point from where we will start our trek to Chopta.
There are a few shops here.
From where you can eat, drink tea, take a stick and eat from here.
I will tell you what is the situation up there.
We won't get anything to eat or drink.
30 rupees.
50 deposit and 20 return.
Hail Tumnath Baba!
Har Har Mahadev!
This is the main gate of Tumnath.
From where the trek will start.
One information here is that
the forest department charges a fee here.
A kind of entry fee to the trek.
Which is 200 rupees per person.
Because this area is in forest wildlife sanctuary.
Usually, when the Kapad is open,
we don't have to pay the ticket.
But since we are travelling in November,
when the Kapad is closed in the off season,
we have to pay the ticket here.
200 rupees per person.
How is the trek going?
Very good!
It hasn't started yet.
Full of energy!
So far, the trek is good.
It's been an hour since we started.
We started at 10.30 am.
It's 11.25 pm now.
I didn't cover much because
I wanted to do it in the beginning.
The views are so beautiful.
You can take photos and videos here.
Rest, the breathing issue,
since we are gaining elevation.
We had just trekked 6,000 feet
to acclimatize.
That was the height.
The base point was 8,000 feet.
We have to reach
12,000 feet above sea level.
We are gaining this much elevation
slowly and gradually.
Is it easy?
How does it look ahead?
I saw a shortcut here.
We are trying the first one.
I personally recommend
to avoid shortcuts.
Sometimes, instead of being easy,
it becomes very difficult.
But this is fine.
Guys, a small update.
We are getting signals from Jio.
I have Jio's sim.
One of our team member also has Jio's sim.
We are getting signals from time to time.
I didn't expect this.
But at some points,
we are getting signals.
Look at the view.
We took that shortcut.
We have to go very high.
This is the clean-up drive we have to do.
Perfect.
This is the fruit chaat.
I got it for Rs. 50.
It looks so beautiful.
It has mixed fruits.
It has cucumber and apple.
Very nice.
Looking good.
Is it malta or orange?
Malta.
Tumnath Temple.
I can see clearly now.
We are so close to our destination.
Half destination.
The final destination is Chandrasheela.
Also,
first toilet.
Look at this.
In a general trek,
some people ask me
to show the toilet facility.
There is a toilet facility here.
For ladies as well as
gents.
You will get this
before you reach the temple.
Below that,
we didn't see
a proper washroom.
We will go to Chandrasheela from here.
Tumnath Temple is from here.
By the way,
Kapad is closed.
I would like to mention that
we cannot visit inside the temple.
We can visit outside the temple.
This is the world's highest
Shiva temple.
Kapad was closed on 4th November.
It is off-season now.
When Kapad is open,
temple is also open.
We can visit inside.
It is completely covered.
We can see the temple from here.
I will try to show you a clear view.
I will put my hand here.
Look from here.
The temple is very beautiful.
You can see the temple clearly from here.
You can take photos and videos
from outside.
For your memory.
The view from here is even more beautiful.
I will tell you the time now.
I didn't tell you the time.
We started the trek at 10.30.
Now it is 1.52 pm.
It took us 3.5 hours
to reach here easily.
The trek is very easy.
If it snows here,
you will need crampons.
You need good hiking shoes
with crampons
if you want to trek in snow.
It will snow till mid-December.
When it snows,
snow will start accumulating here.
Then it will become a proper winter trek
where you have to trek on snow.
This trek was very easy.
It took us 3.5 hours.
We took a lot of breaks.
We are taking photos, videos,
resting.
I am not feeling tired.
Everyone is doing very fine.
I have heard that this stretch
of Chandrashila can be really difficult.
I don't know.
I will experience it and let you know.
So far so good.
We have started our trek
for Chandrashila.
The major highlight
and difference here is that
the path is very narrow.
Can you see?
Just a small path
and here is
a deep ditch.
We have to go up there.
We are starting
at 2 pm.
Let's see how far we can go.
I have reached
here.
Now it is getting difficult.
I will tell you why.
It is very steep incline.
It is nothing less than doing a summit.
Now it feels difficult.
It is very incline.
It will take 40 minutes.
To cover 1 km,
you need 1.5 hours.
That's true.
Hardly
there is Chandrashila.
5 minutes more.
Only 5 minutes now.
Some are still on the way.
Akash is here.
How is the feeling?
Amazing.
The view from the top is a little difficult
for a beginner.
But the 360 degree view from the top,
you cannot miss this.
It is worth it to come here.
It seemed easy to reach Chandrashila
but no.
It was a steep incline
and just for a 1 km,
it took us almost 2 hours.
You will feel tired during the trek
but don't give up.
The view from the top,
you cannot miss it.
The whole team has not come yet.
The whole group has come up.
I want to know their feelings.
They are almost here.
I am very happy.
Worth it.
You can go further.
This is a 360 degree view
of Chandrashila.
We made it.
We all made it.
We all have done it.
Amazing.
It was a small packet.
Exactly.
No one missed it?
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
Everyone did it.
No one missed it.
Chandrashila
So in the morning we had packed
the sandwiches, if you remember.
We are having that at 12000 feet
and the highest
This is the best. 12,500.
This will taste different.
Yummy, yummiest sandwich ever.
So guys, it was amazing.
The view from Chandrashila was ultimate.
By the way, I look so fair.
Everything is amazing about this natural beauty.
I mean nature's beauty.
Because the sun is setting, you can see the whole horizon.
The view is 360 degrees.
Ultimate.
And Tungnath, by the way, we are here.
It didn't take much time to get down.
If it took 2 hours to get up, then hardly 20 minutes to get down.
Hardly.
Now we have to go further down, of course, to the base point.
