Hey guys, welcome back to my channel if you're new here.
Hello!
My name is Carly.
I like to sing apparently.
Hello!
Hi!
Today I'm going to be sharing with you all of my top secret traveling tips.
What is this hand doing?
This hand is yelling at you and this hand is just like doing magic tricks over here
like pfff.
Today I'm going to be sharing with you all of my top traveling tips on how to pack like
a pro and how to layer like a pro.
It's basically two videos in one.
I sound like I'm an infomercial right now because you're getting so much for free in
just this one video.
If all of my videos are free, that's not really a good deal.
I don't know if you guys know this, but I travel a lot.
Hashtag plane life.
Hashtag living on a plane.
As the great philosopher Kid Inc. would say, let's just be honest, let's just be real.
I pack my suitcase an hour before I leave for the airport.
Some would say that I'm waiting until the last minute.
I would say that I'm being efficient.
I don't want to check a bag because then I have to go earlier to wait in the long line
to check that bag.
And I pretty much perfected how to live out of a carry on.
Let's get into the video.
The goal here guys is to get a ton of different outfits by not bringing in a ton of different
pieces.
Hashtag goals.
I like to pack pieces that I can mix and match with, that I can wear a bunch of different
ways and wear together to create new looks.
This way you're not packing a bunch of different crazy outfits for like what if scenarios.
Like what if I get there and it's like semi-casual but I want to feel formal and a little fancy
but I'm still down, you know?
Girl, we're not doing any of that.
By packing pieces that all go together and are all interchangeable, you can get a good
five to six outfits in a small amount of space.
Some of my staples that I pack are a pair of black jeans.
I love a pair of good ripped black jeans.
I like to pack things like a straight top, a basic neutral top.
And then I pack other things that I can layer with those basic tops like a plaid shirt,
a vest and a poncho.
I like to bring different accessories to mix and match in my outfits as well because those
really change the look and feel of your outfits.
So I'll bring a hat with me.
I love a great statement necklace, maybe a scarf.
My next tip is to pack shoes that go with everything.
Usually I'll pack a great fitting pair of black boots with me for my trips because black
boots go with all of my outfits.
They look great with all the different layering pieces that I'm bringing.
This pair of boots is from Sorrel.
They're super comfortable and great for seasons like fall all the way into wintertime.
Black boots are just a feel safe way to go for packing for shoes that will match all
of your different outfits.
But my personal new favorite for this upcoming fall season is this pair of black boots I
found with black and white detailing on them.
And I love these boots because they have a graphic texture to them.
They're a little bit more interesting.
The pattern on the side of the boot matches my vest that I love so much.
When I saw them I was literally like, oh my gosh they match my vest, I have to have them.
So excited about neutrals!
So that pair of boots is also from Sorrel.
I will link them down in the info in case you are interested in that exact pair of shoes.
Things that take up the most room in your suitcase?
Wear it on the flight with you.
It's kind of turned into a running game with me because it's like I went shopping on my
trip and now I can't fit in everything in my carry-on and I'm like standing in the line
for TSA sweating.
They're looking at me like, is she going to pass out?
And I'm like, I don't know, maybe I'm wearing six sweaters.
Very cold on the flight so I like to wear things that are heavier anyway so wearing
my poncho is amazing because it's like my plane blanket basically.
It looks like I'm super chic walking through the airport but then I'll like snuggle up
into this massive tent while I'm sitting in my plane.
So the same thing with your clothing goes for your makeup.
You don't need to bring a million options for a trip girl.
This is why something like a palette is amazing and I'll pack one palette of eyeshadows because
then it's like if I want to go a little bit smokier I can.
I pack generally my basic face worth of makeup.
I like to put all of my makeup in toiletries into one bag so I'll have the makeup on one
side in a zipper compartment and then on the other compartment is where I put more
of the toiletries like a toothbrush, toothpaste, and then I'll also put in this TSA approved
pre-liquid size if I'm going to be gone for an extended period of time.
You can find these at places like Target.
Then in the top zipper compartment is just where I end up putting all of my personal
things like front lugs.
We had a deal!
We talked about this!
Are you done yet?
You are!
Yay!
Besides just the carry-on suitcase, you're also allowed one personal item and basically
that means a purse.
In my larger purse is where I put my laptop, I have my vlog camera, I have everything that's
like technology oriented in this little zipper compartment, notebook, my planner, I usually
put my bible when I'm traveling, and then I also like to put in a tiny bag inside of
that purse like a smaller crossbody that I actually wear throughout the weekend because
I don't carry that huge purse with me on everything that I do.
It's like purse-inception basically.
It's like purses within purses.
There you have it guys.
You know how to pack like a pro and also how to layer like a pro.
