What is up guys we got another
Alcohol ink video tutorial trick that I'm going to show you today
This oh hold on let me let me get my plate out of the way. I was eating some pop-tarts
Mmm, s'mores pop-tarts
Anyway, I've got this cup here. Let me get this one out of the way. That's another video
Link right here when I get it wait. Where's my finger?
there
right here and
Why are you waiting on this video?
There's other videos up there, so
It's just right here. They magically just stay right there that little eye
Symbol you just click that and watch other videos. It's cool. It's really it's like magic so anyway. I got this cup here I
Taped up the rim because it stays stainless
It's based in white and I'm going to show you how to do like a mosaic
tile alcohol ink cup and
Let's go oh by the way
I'm gonna tape it up. I'm using this automotive
What I put it
automotive green tape
get from your automotive store and
I'm gonna do a time-lapse because you don't want to see all that just
Do some triangles however you want that's basically what I'm doing
Okay, why you're enjoying this lovely time-lapse. I wanted to tell you that you can make your shapes
Triangles you can make squares you can make them as big as you want you can make them as small as you want you
Can use as much tape as you want just remember that we're gonna have to eventually take all this tape off
So I got to a point where I was satisfied
I liked how they looked and then I just rolled with it because this is your creation
You could do the lines however you want because it's art and just have fun with it so
onto the next step
Alright, so now we got a cup all taped up with the triangles you like I hit it with another little dusting of white
That way in the overlap the white spray paint would go under there and kind of seal it
From the alcohol ain't getting under there
So that's what we're gonna start with. I'm just gonna do blue
Magenta and purple is my idea for my mosaic colors
And I'll use a foam brush and I'll show you how that's done
So let's start with the blue
Take a little bit of blue. I know it's got some yellow on it, but it won't come off. I don't think
We'll see just dribble it on there. I'm just gonna kind of
Dab it around it does mix it turned green. Okay, I'm gonna pause for a minute
Well, I'm gonna find another one of these that is kind of a sick color
I think I'll put it in a few spots though since it's there. It's really cool looking. I
Kind of like it yeah, that's pretty
It's a nice color actually
It's really cool. Okay, maybe we might keep going with that
Happy little accidents. I like it
Looks good. It's neat
It's a cool color
so basically, you're just gonna do whatever colors you want around the whole thing and
Till you're satisfied. This is another one of those things. You're just free to do it. However you want to
It's not really look at that pretty blue that's nice starting to get more
Blue than the green because I had yellow on here. I'm not really sure where that come from
I may have had
One of my other many experiments still on this foam brush. There's the only foam brush I could find so
Sometimes that that's the best way to
To figure out something unexpectedly
That is beautiful. I love that color blue and green like a
Tealy colors my favorite kind of color anyway
So I'm just kind of
Just putting it wherever I feel like putting it be honest with you
Well here a little there this stuff
And I thought links are so much fun to use. I don't know where they've been my whole life
But I have found them now
Now I'll never let them go. I'm just kidding. Not really. That's fun. It's fun
You should try it if you you're watching this video and you enjoy it
And you think that would be fun then you would be right because it is
So we're gonna basically have a bunch of all this
Around the whole cup, whatever colors you want to you're happy and let's cut to the time-lapse
While you're enjoying this little time-lapse here
I wanted to take a minute to give you a pro tip and that is the dryer you brush on these alcohol inks the less
Likely it is to bleed under your tape lines and not that that's a big deal
I had some bleed under as you'll see at the end and I think it turned out great
So, all right
So now that we've got a cup almost covered if you'll notice I didn't cover all the spots
and you don't have to you could do it if you want to but
the next
Thing we're gonna do is I got a bottle with regular rubbing alcohol
Let's turn it this way angle it towards me
With the mist will you be still?
Okay, hang on
There we go with the mist on really fine, whoops
Hope that didn't get on anything over there much
With the mist set really fine and we're gonna hold it back. I'm about a
Foot and a half two feet up above it. Let me get a light here and I'm just gonna mist it
Well, hold on. Let me plug up my
Sorry plug that. Let's see. Yeah, this is a heat gun. You use a hairdryer heat gun
Or whatever so what you want to do is you're gonna mist it then you're gonna take your hairdryer
Okay, wow that heat gun is super loud
So I'm just gonna opt to do a voiceover instead of blowing you guys's eardrums out. Okay, you're welcome for that
But anyway, what you're basically doing is you're spraying with a little rubbing alcohol. You're blowing it around with a
Now I'm using a heat gun and
Preferably you probably would want to use a hairdryer or something that doesn't get so hot because the heat gun
actually
dries the alcohol inks
Instead of moving around as well is don't get me wrong. It's still moved around as you can see right here
There's some cool things happening
But I feel like with a hairdryer would have moved it around more instead of drying it so fast
But
Also what I learned the really key thing would be to do all this at one time
Because I did all of my cup first and it dried by the time I got to this step
It didn't want to move around as easily
Now if I would have done this during the painting process
like you just seen the time-lapse for it would have moved around way easier and also
another thing that would have made this move around a little easier is if you took a
Dropper and they have this thing called blending solutions blending alcohol ink solution, which I do not have
but that would have that that's the look I was going for with that, but
What you're basically doing now see here. I use magenta because that is the lightest color and it doesn't
Get too dark going over everything else you still see that magenta pop color coming through so that's why I chose magenta
so if you're doing this use like the lightest color of your choice to if you have to fill in some areas and
Then spray it before it dries and move it around with the heat gun
And let me show you real quick what I'm looking for and what you should be looking for
Let me cut to this clip. It's a really good
visual on this
Somebody's having a great time
So I'm just going around looking at my white spots getting them covered up
All right, I like that pretty good. Let's make sure I got everything
There's one spot I didn't get
The bottom wow that made this cup hot. Let's move you up a little bit so you can see that
See how my setup back there
So let's go ahead and
Put a little bit more
Pink there magenta, which is actually it's mixed with the blue. That's why I said I would like to have more than
One two brushes however many colors I'm going to use so many brushes. I would like to use I couldn't find them
so
Let's see. Let's mess it around for
Well, mr. Quits keeps quitting working
And I like to dot it and leave it so I'm gonna sit it up
so
Don't soak it so that it runs. Just do it so it can leave some dots
But you'll see the effect we're going for here. You might have seen those little
Tiles people like to use they use them as coasters or something
There's one this kind of like the look we're going for for a cup
our tumbler I
Think that will do the trick. We're gonna let that dry and we're gonna come back and see how our mosaic came out
All right, we are back. I just went to dinner
Got my belly full
Gave this plenty enough time to dry
We're gonna remove our triangle tape lines
But if we take our tape off and it bled a little bit, I don't think that's gonna be a problem
It might actually look pretty cool
So far, it's looking pretty crazy. I like it pretty good
So I'm just gonna continue taking all my tape off and then we'll take a look at it and see how it looks
Man, so I really like this. I like how the
Bleeding under doesn't bother me
Especially like look at that where that come through where the overlap it makes it look like this white line is going over
This line and that's really cool. It does that all over the place. It gives it depth and dimension and when I put the
Resin over it. I think it's gonna make it look even deeper. So and those colors are really crazy. They're super bright
And I think I'm happy with that. So we're gonna resin that
Sticking on the Turner and I'll let you see what that looks like when we come back
This is our finished product and I'm really happy with the way this come out
There's so much interest in things and colors to look at and to be honest. I was going for a clean white
Kind of grout line
Mosaic tile look but I really don't mind the little bleed throughs that we have
That's why I didn't worry about cleaning it up
Because one thing it looks like where the tape overlaps and goes over and under that's kind of cool in my opinion and
I'm okay with that. And by the way, this is art
You're gonna be able to use it and drink is fully functional and it's a really cool
conversational piece somebody come up to you and be like man, where'd you get that cup? I made that so
It's really cool to be able to say that look at that. That's like an ocean or something
I really love those love those colors in there. Can you see that? It's not picking up on the camera
I don't know, but yeah, these little dots of color
Coming through on the bleed under I I mean, like I said, I don't mind it
it took me a while to get to the place where I didn't mind stuff like that because I had a problem with being a
perfectionist and
It got me nowhere. I was not productive
I couldn't get anything done because I never finished anything because I was always
Picking at it and picking at it and
now I've just learned to
love the process and appreciate things for their flaws and
Just like us as people. So there's your life lesson for the day
Go ahead and subscribe to this channel get more cool stuff like this. I got some more stuff
There's actually something right off camera spinning right there
You can't see that and I'm not gonna show you because you have to wait for the next video after this one
So what's my finger doing? I don't know
But anyway, click the like button hit the subscribe and be sure to wait for my next coming videos and watch my previous ones
You know, look at that. That's really that's pretty sick. It's kind of like bubbles. It's flat. It's not bubbles
It's just the way that alcohol ain't when we sprayed it. I really like that too. So
Goodbye
