This is crazy. Look at the club head here with the driver.
Look at it.
It just stays on the ground. But then look at the result of the golf ball.
The drive is what's amazing to me. With the head flying off, how did he drive it on the green? That is amazing.
So he's holding the shaft all by itself. Now look low on the screen. See that?
The driver head just ripping down in front of the tee.
And then take a look at the Arnold Palmer finish because of the weight issue. There's no weight there.
Somehow the driver came unscrewed.
Jason Day now at 10.
Yeah, another one.
See, that's a pure reaction to what the wind is doing right there.
Wind is hurting off the left and he's trying to hit a lower shot.
Just gets a little steep on it.
Did that go in his beard?
Wow.
Take a look at this. We saw the splash out of that gentleman's cup.
Let's see if the ball actually made its way into his bud light.
Are you kidding me? No way.
Wow.
Jason Day from downtown.
Oh, yeah.
Be careful here.
Uh-oh.
This could be right at the water.
Oh, that hit a rock.
What?
That hit the rock.
It did.
He said it kicked back to the left.
It did.
It's way out there.
That might be a 430-yard tee shot.
They call it Castle Rock, Colorado.
And Sam Burns just bounced off of one of the rocks.
And how fortuitous is this?
It's down in the flat part of the rock.
We have a new leader for longest drive.
437.
Yes, that's a 437-yard tee shot.
Payton Buckley at the par 3, 16th.
And he went after that one, turning it over into that left-to-right breeze.
Way deep.
Not quite sure where that ended up, Dan.
Well, that's where it ended up, in somebody's lap.
Hot dog, cocktail, souvenir.
How about a golf ball?
Playing through.
218.
Minwoo Lee is playing downwind the 18.
We're seeing a lot of approach shots go long here.
Come on, Al.
No way.
Yes.
Yes way.
The wind helped him there.
It was downwind on that side of the cup.
Helped push it across.
J.T. Poston with a third shot from the left-hand side of the fairway.
Gives him a pretty good angle at this front right pin.
Poop.
Oh, no.
Wow.
It was in.
It was out.
It was in.
It went down.
That had to be so much spin on that golf ball that it hit the bottom of the cup
and ricocheted back out.
Incredible.
Here we go right here.
Let's take a look at this huge bounce.
I mean, it went dead center.
It came back out.
Popped up like a lottery ping pong ball.
Still had spin.
Riley found the bunker.
Back foot slipped on contact.
Whoa.
Nice agility.
All right.
Davis, Riley.
Oh, I mean.
Play it as it lies.
You land that into the fork of the chair legs.
You just move it and then you put it back where it would be.
So you mark the spot, from what I understand, move the chair
and put the ball exactly in that spot.
Correct.
Big strong left-hand grip.
Strong club face.
That's come out to the left, Coach.
Look out.
There's water down there.
Oh, off the rock.
Where's it going?
It's going in the right direction.
How about this?
What did you say about shot of the day?
That wasn't the shot of the day.
That was the break of the day.
Oh, there you go.
My goodness.
What a break.
It could go anywhere.
And it goes straight up, straight down, and look at this.
Nestles in there to about, what, 10 feet?
Orlando Pope, our rules expert, help us out here.
Well, what he's trying to figure out, he has the big drain in front of him,
so since his ball's in the penalty area, he doesn't get relief from the drain,
so now they're kind of looking.
He's asking about the boundary, and the clubhouse is still in bounds,
so he's trying to figure out which way to go there.
Of all the things I expected to see today, Dan,
I didn't expect to see a haul on top.
Of the rope.
We've seen it all for joy.
And now it's in the gutter.
It's in the gutter.
Maybe it's coming down the drain
and coming out through the hole on a mini putt-putt course.
This is just unbelievable.
But he'll get a drop.
He'll get a drop.
I'm going to go out on a limb
and say there's never been a PGA Tour player hit it in this area before.
No, I don't think you're going out on a limb.
There's the ball in the gutter.
Oh, my goodness.
What in the world?
Look at Vegas.
He's going back off driver.
Go iron.
Carries it around 260,
but this also pulled left towards the trees.
Nav's got company over there.
Look at this at 12.
What are the chances?
Jonathan Vegas's tee shot.
I've seen some tough lies before.
He's got the raw refactor Hoburg for me.
Pull the crowds.
He's so clinical.
He's fast.
He gets on with it.
It's a joy to watch.
What else has this got to be?
One in 10,000.
You won't believe where he pulls finished.
Wanting to hit it just behind the flag.
Make sure he gets it over that ridge.
This is what you get for being accurate.
I think Wally's right.
One in 10,000.
A rarity.
Zander.
One of the funkier shots you're going to see.
And I mean, they love it here at near field village.
I mean, this hits the flag with speed rich.
Add that to the highlight reel.
The reaction.
Biggest smile as you'll see from Zander softly.
Thomas to 12 under par with his share of the lead.
And living right on the fourth.
His second shot.
This ball to skip up over.
It's about an 18 inch little ledge to get up and over.
Not only that.
Coming out of the rough with that ball.
Knuckling for it to skip like that.
Very, very fortunate for JT.
Adam Chang.
His second par five.
That's from 264.
The way you're saying that.
Well, it's got me.
I see.
It's a good setup.
It's just kind of.
I mean, where did it go?
Don't know.
Not sure.
In a spectator's cup.
It is.
Yeah, there you go.
Right here.
Look at this.
Right in his drink.
Hole in two.
Here's a look at the 17th.
Yeah.
A good look at this difficult par three with Aaron battling.
No one of those players with over 500 starts on tour.
We saw yesterday.
And look at that.
Lands in the cup.
Wow.
Sometimes they stay in.
Watch this.
Right on the base.
What a terrible break.
Cody.
Gribble the lefty.
At the 18th.
Well, we've seen all day.
If you hit a good tee shot at 18.
You can make birdie.
You only have a wedge in.
Oh, my God.
How did that not go in?
That was crazy.
Chris Kirk.
Not missing the air.
Gets a little bounce off the coin there.
What?
And it goes in the hole.
That thing bounced off the coin and about two inches into the air.
That was interesting.
Spieth ready?
Uh-oh.
Four.
This one is headed right.
There's some people over there.
Oh, look out.
What did that hit, Colt?
That hit a gentleman's forearm, I believe.
Just another fairway in regulation.
Absolutely perfect now.
Good news.
Spectator is okay.
Sorry about that.
Hey, it's fine.
Spieth's the best.
Look at that.
The elbow is not great, but he's okay.
Well, remember last year at the players championship on Friday,
Jordan hit that ball way right and hit the guy in the knee.
And he took care of him.
Gave him tickets for the weekend.
So get on you, Jordan.
Oh, man.
