Chiang Mai is a beautiful city in the north of Thailand.
It's not only known to be the capital city of Buddhism,
but it's also known for its delicious variety of different northern Thai food.
Chiang Mai should be at the top of your list if you love delicious food.
From savory curries to crispy street food snacks,
here are the top 10 must-try food places when you're in Chiang Mai.
We are going to visit a very famous restaurant.
This restaurant is called Blue Noodles and they're famous for their beef and pork noodles.
This place is open every day from 9 a.m till 8 p.m.
Blue Noodles is a very casual place that serves incredible noodles with beef and pork options.
They have a variety of noodles you can choose from.
The soup is absolutely fantastic and once seated it's served impressively quick.
The staff is super friendly and manage the line and seating very well.
We ordered the dry pork noodles with pork balls and the beef noodle soup.
They were both very delicious.
The broth is so full and rich of flavor.
The noodles are very firm and all the meat in there is just incredibly tender.
This is the perfect place if you just want to have an amazing bowl of noodle soup or dried noodles.
They have the best noodles, they have great service and the noodles are super cheap.
Okay, let's try these dried noodles with pork.
That's really good.
These noodles are so firm and it has a really strong pork flavor.
That's delicious.
And then we have the beef, the stewed beef with the fresh beef noodle soup and this is delicious.
It has so much flavor, so much strong beef flavor.
And you can choose your own noodles and we went for the rice noodles.
It's delicious.
Highly recommend this place.
Oh and as you can see, there's always a queue outside.
But because the service is so good, don't let that queue scare you away.
Because you will be served your bowl of delicious noodles before you know it.
And if you like grilled chicken, then I have the perfect place for you.
This restaurant serves the best grilled chicken here in Chiang Mai.
It is called SP Chicken.
When searching for good food in Chiang Mai,
it won't be long until you come across this restaurant.
SP Chicken in the Old Town.
This restaurant is in every Chiang Mai food guide and is everywhere on the first page of Google.
This is an old standing restaurant that has transitioned gracefully over the years.
And they have been making their juicy delicious chicken since the 70s.
These grilled chickens are stuffed with Thai herbs and aromatics.
They're skewered, turned vertical,
and cooked rotisserie style along a wall of encased glowing coals.
They also serve delicious salads and I highly recommend ordering a papaya salad
next to your juicy crispy grilled chicken.
Because it just goes perfectly together.
Also don't forget to order your sticky rice.
This place is open every day except for Wednesday from 10 a.m till 5 p.m.
But come early because we went there at 2 p.m and they were sold out around 3 p.m.
So make sure you come early to skip a queue and to get your juicy crispy chicken.
We're at the restaurant right now and it's around three o'clock.
And they're sold out of the chicken.
And they normally close at five.
So we're really lucky to get some chicken.
Let's try it.
That is some really good juicy chicken.
It has such an intense flavor.
Super garlicky.
It's stuffed with garlic and stuff too.
And it just goes perfect with the papaya salad.
Highly recommend SP Chicken.
And when you're in Chiang Mai,
you obviously can't miss out on the cowboy hat lady.
Who serves braised pork leg here at the Chiang Mai night market.
The iconic cowboy hat lady certainly deserves her reputation.
She specializes in her famous and delicious Khao Kha Moo.
Which is braised pork leg served over rice with a boiled egg and pickled greens.
The braised pork leg has been braised in its own juices for hours.
And you can really taste the strong pork flavor in the gravy and in the tender pork meat.
The pork is honestly the most delicious braised pork I've ever had.
Also the service is very efficient and the staff is really friendly.
Okay, the Khao Kha Moo just arrived.
Look at how beautiful this plate looks.
So it's braised pork with some pickled greens, some nice gravy and a boiled egg.
And rice obviously.
You always need rice.

Kanom Jeen San Pak Koi is a restaurant that was established in 1977.
They are known for their delicious, amazing curries.
This place is just incredible.
They serve the best curries in Chiang Mai for only 30 baht each.
Some are 50.
These curries taste so good.
It's recommended to have them with vermicelli noodles that are very firm and very tasty,
and go perfectly with the curries.
These curries are a bit spicy, so watch out if you can't handle your spice that much.
So we had a red beef curry.
A red pork curry.
Then I went back for another chicken green curry.
And we also had the bestseller, the Thai red pork curry.
Kanom Jeen San Pak Koi is located at the Tum Kam market.
So it's inside of a food market.
It has loads of seating places.
The service is really quick because they just have these big pots of delicious curries,
and you just choose which one you want.
You can choose to have them with rice or vermicelli noodles,
and you can choose a seat from the very big seating area.
This is definitely a restaurant you can't miss out on when you're in Chiang Mai,
because they're so cheap and so delicious,
