TinyPlex Update: A Duplex Tiny Home Like No Other! 🏡✨

what's up everyone happy New Year I'm Stephen here with Town listings I'm gab jle and last week we gave you a quick video rundown of the tiny Plex we've officially decided to call it a tiny Plex we had a bunch of names we had some ideas kind of like a pun kind of like a playoff of a duplex obviously um but we've made a lot of progress in the last week as you can see behind us and uh we want to kind of give you a quick rundown how everything looks before we get completely done with it um so we'll take you on the inside I guess on each side and show you what it looks like and uh go from there so now that we're uh we actually in the right side of the trailer you could see well you really can't see cuz there's nothing in here yet but I'm standing in the kitchen where the cabinets will go and Steve's kind of standing where the I believe the pantry is going to go there and then on this side is going to be the living room so when you come in you got a big open space for you could probably fit a c uh full Couch full siiz couch you can get a nice coffee table you might even be able to scoot a little uh chair in here like a not a recliner but like a nice lounger um but if you look to the right of me you can actually see we have a TV mount and then the breaker box for your panel is in here so that's one thing to highlight also like these units they have the same power source so they have one source coming in Water and Electric but they're split up between the two so if this person over here decides they want to leave for a month or they're not going to be back for a couple of weeks and they want to shut their water and their power off they'll have the ability to do that without affecting the tenant next door um so that's just one thing to talk about also but the kind of the lineup we have going for these kitchen cabinets is we're going to have a fridge over here to the left of me there's going to be the stove with the countertop the countertop will flow all the way over to a pantry here and then the pantry next to the pantry is going to be the washer and dryer so you know you kind of get everything you need right on this one wall and then when we designed this house we also thought about maintenance and servicing cuz you know we're trying to make it a rental so if anything does happen uh which it shouldn't for you know years unless obviously you got a bad tenant um everything is on this one wall so most of your plumbing is on this outside wall your bathroom Plumbing your kitchen Plumbing the only Plumbing that is on this interior wall is the shut off to the house so you really shouldn't have any problems over there but if there ever is a problem you can get to it here and hide it behind the cabinets if you do have to fix it and the one thing that's pretty amazing I think from this bathroom wall all the way down to here it's like a full 12 ft right pretty much give or take yeah it's about 12 ft so it's a huge space 2T over here and 2T over here for the fridge in the uh Pantry leaves you with 8 ft of countertops so for you know a 20x 10 unit it's laid out very effective and you got plenty of space to do anything you need to and yeah this is a completely open this is basically a studio so it's completely open and so even though it's only 10 x 20 per side it feels a lot bigger than that cuz it's one huge open room all right so now we're in the bedroom area this is a built-in platform that we do unless if you don't want that this comes standard uh but you can put a queen-sized bed here and we haven't quite figured it out yet but we're thinking about doing some overhead storage speaking of a head storage there is a huge Loft above the bathroom so you can put all your knick-knacks in there all your things that you don't really get all the time and uh and I think it's in frame but you can see there's a double window in the front for both sides and there's also a window for the kitchen and so there's four Windows five Windows all together plenty of natural light uh especially for such a small space five windows in a 200t space well I mean you talk about storage you can talk about how you know it is a platform bed so you do have full storage all the way back the bathroom over there next door is a little bit further along so we'll take you over there and just show you how this side is mirrored on the other side so you'll get a better idea of the overall layout so as you can see we'll pan around to show you kind of the different layout or how it's mirrored on this side but looking into this bathroom it's a pretty spacious bathroom it's 48 wide and I believe it's like 7 six something uh deep this way but you can see in the back we got a beautiful tiled shower uh with our famous PVC tiles they're waterproof uh rot proof uh grout proof so you don't have to worry about any of that kind of Maintenance um but it is a 48x 32 shower so you get a plenty big shower in such a small space and then right where Steve standing uh you can actually I don't know if you can see it but the toilet will go there and then we got a nice 18in vanity that'll go tucked up right against the wall um you can also see that this is a pocket door so we we use those a lot in all of our builds just to save space um so you'll have a 2T pocket door that'll close right in this door so you get your privacy when you're in the bathroom or you can leave it open to let the air flow so just as worth mentioning that behind us there is this is a a firewall so Gabe you want to talk about the specs for that yeah so uh there two walls they're actually not touching so there's no sound transfer in between them and then on the one side we have a fire rated sheetrock uh on both walls there is rock wall in between so you get sound dampening um we've had guys over there yelling and screaming you really can't hear them unless the windows are open um and there's fire foam all through it so it's completely a separate unit but yeah it's on the same trailer so you do have that uh I believe it's like a 2 and 1 half three hour burn rating between all the the insulation the fire rock and the plywood yeah and so we're not sure if someone's going to buy this if you're interested or if if we may just take this to our new community in Mississippi which we'll call in Havenwood tiny house Community uh it's outside of Meridian so this would make it excellent excellent uh use for a landlord if you want to have two units or for two airbnbs um if you're maybe a multigenerational family a mother could live on the side and a daughter could live on that side or son or whatever that looks like like um College uh housing for students there's a lot of use cases for this and we were really starting to see the writing on the Buu uh we really don't have any information yet about this model on there but you can go there and see all the other stuff we're up to all of our homes are fully certified so if you're interested in that there may potentially be the option for financing in the future but we really really are excited about this unit we think it's it's awesome it's actually two units and just real quick before closing you know when you ever you have a tiny house shipped and set up it's normally a cost per tiny house so if you have two units that could be anywhere between $5 to $15,000 that you're saving by not having to have two hauled um so that's a really really big cost saving so anyways thanks for watching you got anything else G no I think that's it see you in the next video [Music]
