🇧🇬 BUL vs. 🇨🇳 CHN - Highlights Week 1 | Men's VNL 2023

It's another good service. Oh, and a massive block! Lee opens his account. They've tried to go... Here is Dimitrov. Mavings is in a sphere. End of the season. The block, it's a good one, but well kept. Good hands by Grozdanov. And a massive swing by the captain. Bulgaria back within one point. Tanisov serving, super aggressive. But that pipe attack comes through Jean. Jean rips an ace. Dimitrov dips in to Jean. From outside the three, and then a clean winner. Found it by Jean. Oh, then a clean by Jean. And this is set point. Nikolov saves set point. Grozdanov. You receive. Peng and puts it away. 11-11. Nikolov gets it back and finds some back. Caught space. Off the bench, replacing Nikolai Kolev. Here he is, float serving onto Yu. Pipe attack from Jean. Nikolov has improved his percentage from 40 to 42. Wonk, that's a good block. Yu. Got to it. Set, done and dusted. Bulgaria level. Got the last touch off Jean. A little bit of reward for that great effort by Bulgaria, but it is short-lived for Jean Chinyik. Now Grozdanov floats that into Yu. And the quick attack is the way to go. Pechikov. The execution right on the money this time. Georgy Bratov. Pass goes into Wonk. Block goes up to stop Lee. Oh, you can't stop that though. Much better from Bulgaria. Good service. Kyu puts it on a platter. And Jean. 18-16. Liu. Completely off balance. Jean still finds a way to hit the winner. Starting to perform at their peak, see it early in the week. Atanasov into Liu. Off the hands goes Jean. Oh, Nikolov. One on one. High and handsome. Real contest. Here's Chang serving for the set. Big point coming up. Great dig by Jean. Now, Jean to win it. Cross court goes Yu. From Yu Yuntai. How does he get so high? It's brilliant at the back of the court from Jean. And then they know where it's going. There are three blockers. They all bring the hands down because they think the short hitter is going to go for hands. But no, he backs himself. He rises high. And he hits a clean winner. Top draw. Li. Oh, back to back. Played most recently in the Ukrainian league, but has played in France and Poland. Zhang is thinking about the victory already. And there goes Yu, just unleashing. Use of block. Goes back to Nikolov, another block on Nikolov. Three times. Third time lucky. Better pass. And that is how you finish it. Gets up and makes the block and the lead changes hands again. Has that dropped in? It has dropped in. Short to get Nikolov, the first man there. Great block. Three men up. It's a bit of a challenge for China. Not going to improve on that. There's no improving on that from Nikolov. It's a good pass by Borchardt. Swing down the line by Dimitrov. Not only are we level at two sets each, we are level on points in the match. Nikolov. Cross court goes Petchev. Yu Yuantai to serve first. Race to 15. Bozhilov receives. Oh, what a block from Zhang. Yu. Into Bozhilov. Oh, that is Nikolov. 18th kill of the game. Dimitrov. Into one. Just outside the three. What a serve. Absolute rocket. And this time, Zhang. 15 points for Dimitrov. Big, big moment. Now he serves for the match. Floats it into Bozhilov. Dig by Zhang. The swing can only find Saganov. And a kill block wins it. Li shuts it down. Is there a net touch to keep this game alive, to keep a little bit of hope for Bulgaria? No, it was the ball that wobbled the net, wasn't it?
