Building a Brick Foundation underneath the Mobile Home!

maybe they're moving for the euro [Laughter] i have no clue no comprende what's that mean yeah scary yes okay now this is this is for you doing the foundation the the movie for youtube about the foundation all right so we are starting the foundation we're going to put down some concrete and then some brick we're going to break it up make it look really nice and we're thinking now that we may make our front steps out of brick instead of building another wood one we never like how the wood ones look so we'll see how that comes so what they're doing first is they're laying out a line of where the concrete needs to be and then we're going to pour a little pad for the brick so uh we got a big trench to dig here they're getting on it all right so we're thinking it took about an hour and these guys have dug a ditch all the way down the front of this thing we're about 70 feet long now by the way we're not saying this is the way to do it we're saying this is the way that we did it okay oh pretty good and they've got it fairly level just kind of measuring it a little bit as they go and they did it all with a trench shovel and a flathead shovel i mean a square shovel whatever it's called so pretty cool so now they're gonna make up mix up some concrete i'll show you how these guys do this how many do you think they're gonna do them all at once you gonna do you gonna do toto total at once [Music] yeah this is concrete that we had at our at our other building we were using on something else and it's been sitting around for six months um so basically it was about ruined you know because it gets moisture in it and then you can't use it so we're using like the high strength stuff you don't really need to use that i don't believe but it's just a little bit more and we had it uh the uh somebody was just texting me something so we uh we have to use this stuff before it all goes bad so we're gonna pop it underneath this mobile home why not right boy you're strong man mucho yeah come narrate donny tell us your thoughts on this that we're donnie this concrete yeah basically we thought that this money that we spent on the concrete which wasn't all that much we're only how many bags is it 10 it's only 10 bags of concrete but we figured that was money gone but check this out we're gonna fix it they're mixing it up right there on the sand there's clumps in it but they'll bust up all those clothes look at that one what do you think amy bueno no bueno that's boring got a little sledgehammer there right on the sand hobby you think the sand it's okay maybe maybe yeah mix a little sand in maybe a little rock it's all good it's a nice sunny day too not a cloud in the sky so we're going to have to get our own water of course we didn't bring the water hose no agua uh-oh no agua no mongeria oh no that's one garage oh well that might be pipe but [Laughter] we'll google that one later you got a hundred people or hundred thousand people it won't be that many maybe eventually probably gonna be like five well i'll watch it more than that you think about it though sand in it yeah i think this is the most i think they've ever done 10 at one time [Music] five gallon buckets it's going to take to fix this i've got buckets of water yeah we're going to do it five gallons at a time 10 bags concrete quanto how many buckets you think how many six yeah how much concrete's gonna be on the front of your pickup when we're done hey don't get it on the truck no no concreta on the trucker the way i speak spanish is i just add an a to everything yeah that's no bueno that stopped me and tried to make me work on the concrete and i don't know how to do it man i'd have to call you [Laughter] hey should i move it you want me to move you spinel maybe what maybe noise okay no it's okay okay we now have a new element of surprise coming later into the video does the truck get concrete all over it or not and no hoes to wash it off all right we gotta wait on water literally so we'll see they're getting their sludge just right sure so [Music] welcome this is chesterfield county and uh south carolina and they this at you know millennia ago or whatever was the bottom of a lake bed so the entire county and this entire part of south carolina is covered in sand but for whatever reason there's some decent looking dirt that we dug up here so i don't know if they brought it in or it's just a particularly decent patch it looks looks like you could grow something boy they're getting that looking pretty decent over there it's looking good [Music] hey am i speak spanish they won't be able to tell all of the comments that they get down below that they're not doing it right we're gonna all right so that's how they do it we're going to work through it a little bit and see how far down the home we can get okay so they made their own little float and they have figured out the uh of course they put a line where they wanted it that's level and now they have marked on the float a line to help them with depth they're trying to get it close to level what do you think bueno no bueno poquito okay so they're gonna work it down like that okay here we go we're gonna start underpinning it starting to lay the brick in there on top of concrete i got one guy over here doing it and i've got one guy down there doing it now i've got another guy running mortar back and forth making it running we got a brick set up and we're laying it to it now this one here is good real good and fast starting to climb right on up there they're on the fourth row now let's see if i can get you a shot down the side of this thing i don't know if you're going to be able to tell there but there you go how straight it is but it's pretty well close you got here look pretty good pretty good these boys are pretty fast with it they're um bricks is their thing but we're getting i got another boy here cutting and making mixing [Music] i'm gonna run right over put water on the bricks to slow down the mortar keep it from running we got a little bit of wind blowing here that's drying it out pretty quick so they're trying to slow it up a little bit foreign um um oh so [Music] we're still getting on it here trying to finish up this front and we got about maybe half of it on this front something like that but it's looking pretty good we'll get back with you just establishing level at that point we want to know what level is across there because we're not trusting the trailer because the ground is goes up and down up and down up and down so then we dig out a footer all the way around it there you go they got a footer all the way around we did break out the maestro three but anyway inside joke once we dug all the way around it we go and put concrete we'll walk down here and see that so we've got this done and it goes around to here and obviously goes back into the bricks over here and last week we got this footing done and we got this much of the bricks laid so we are continuing on getting the foundation in but i only have one guy this week so we're going a little slow to whom it may concern this little concrete mixer here a little two bag mixer this thing is pretty good realistically i mean we've mixed probably [Applause] 15 pilots with it and we ain't really had that much problem it [Music] we have one little problem there's a bolt in there that holds it to the motor here and we didn't check make sure it fingers tighten it come loose and fell out and the drum fell off but we just put it back on there and uh put a new bolt in it was good to go and we ain't having problems but it's a good little machine i'm sure it's [Music] thank you [Music] so [Music] uh me yeah gonna need new hey maybe the bb gun i can't believe this sawzall's cutting the tongue [Music] [Music] join me [Music] okay [Music] little short pieces little steel plate is what we're having a problem with if you see that the string line get less than less than a half a brick my guys are cutting all the bricks this is some bricks we got left over well not left over we're gonna end up using them right there we've got i don't know if we got yeah three runs on the back of this thing three runs up no two rooms the third run stops right there so we'll have plenty but we're going to cut some of these pines down over and put another one over there one more a lot of people think this is easy but when you're working around stuff like this sticking up there and you already got flashing over there and you're trying to get all this stuff up and obviously we're working on a used trailer here so all this stuff is laying down i don't know if it's still laying down on new ones or not but there's another one in beams there perfect here there's another one of beams there we got to work around and it's just all these little clips here it's a little clip you gotta cut each brick around it so you can get it to slide in and slide out it's just flat painted in the butt this is how we've got the light bricks i've got to get the brick from the inside and he puts the the concrete up there get my light up he puts the concrete up there up there i get the brick and i've got to push it from this side up in there because it's so tight it won't go in any other way well we're starting to uh get the brick all the way up there i've got my second best guy i've got working my first best took the day off but the second best is getting it done we're knocking it out here we went around that pipe there we still got to clean it up a little bit but it's getting there wait for the camera wait for the camera okay he said he's no good for the camera [Music] over here where they run it wire it through we've got it spliced in right there put another layer in we got to come back and uh in between a few of these bricks here we need more on the corner but that's how you do it you kind of hang them out there and never never land and then you put every other one in going back that way and then you got your board here so you can't you can't get your mortar in there so they'll come back put the mortar back in got about a hundred more bricks here to go we're gonna try to knock it out today and be done with except for right up there where he's at where that hole is we're gonna have to leave that hole till they get the air conditioner done and then we can fill that hole in if not i'm gonna be paying them people to go through this hole all the way down the mobile home then across the middle back there to do their work and it's going to cost me double to go from there to here when i can just leave that hole open and they can run back and forth in there be a lot easier on all parties and it's no more trouble really for me because we're going to be here next week anyway doing the steps out front in brick and then we'll be back over here doing this back patio so it's going to be the same thing we're fixing to put in the last brick actually last two but [Music] we filled the hole in did that this morning got two bricks left and he don't like neither one of them we'll come back [Music] [Music] the last two there's one not yet got to cut some more basically what he's cutting around this thing come from the coast and it's got strapping out here on the edge right behind that vinyl and that very top row about every seven or eight feet you've got a you've got a strap there to hold the trailer that they put they screwed it into the ground basically hurricane strap so the uh we didn't need them here we didn't need them here because the uh we're not in hurricanes so one left that's probably gonna be the worst one of all the last one he's got to try to slide in there here we go and that's a wrap put a little polish on it follows the little third and we're ready to go there it is get a little bit of concrete around it the last one is in look how he does this watch this i'll watch it i'll let you watch him sling a little packs it right up in there all right see that well here we go we got done with this foundation here underneath this thing right here is the last little spot we just got through feeling in there you can still see where the bricks are a little bit get this way and you can see all the way around it looks good we got to backfill a little bit here and pick up a little trash here he's painting a door there we made a door up we'll paint that in and uh that's going to be the end of it there's the door over here where that penetration went through come out pretty good these sides where they mesh to come out good there we've filled this this in got this going we've got all this here done we're or should be good
