Fixing the Power Steering And Air Conditioning on my 1988 r35 Flat Bed Chevy Dually 454ci Truck

okay day three on the truck we're gonna do this a little different we're working on the power steering put this hose on but you see it comes down here and just stops that's how the old one was that was getting me it was pinching me constantly so I had this major day because I could not buy the other hoses so you know whoever made this up was a fool the ones that the auto parts store was like sixteen seventeen dollars a piece well I could not find this hose nowhere so that's probably why they made it up to but that cost fifty six bucks for that one hose from here to there and that's a like they said it was the standard pipe fittings come on focus well maybe it's not gonna focus on this basically goes down enough but they said it was a standard pipe fitting so that's what I'm going with but I put that piece in first okay and then I'm gonna tighten that one piece up and then I'm gonna come down here and put the hose on here you know I'm gonna put this bracket and put the hose on here and then truck put that bottom piece on before I tighten everything up because I don't know exactly how the orientation of this line goes if I tighten it up a little all for that line I ain't going fit or this line ain't gonna fit so I'm gonna put tighten the rubber one of last basically they're coming down through the bracket down into the next one and tightened up there so all that's tightened up now we gotta see if this is gonna fit we measured it yesterday and this is what they told us we needed so we'll see the belt went right on them and it was extremely close but she fit that's what we put on and we did that because we took this vacuum pump out once you take the vacuum pump out the belt used to go around that vacuum pump and go down and now it's straight from the the open water pump crankshaft as all it's up to so we bypassed that pulley there now we could have probably no I don't think you can make it I don't think you can leave it in there you can leave it if you took the pulley off you can leave it but I don't think there's enough room to just bypass it and leave it in there you have to pull it off seemed like this we're done playing around on this side we're gonna try to tighten that air-conditioning just ever so slightly I'm gonna put a gauge on this air conditioner I'm pretty sure that lines leaking over them they tell me that they put freon in at once a year but it's awful funny they got four cans I mean I think they might put it in before they go to the sale or something but we'll look and see and see what we can figure out here I'm gonna try to tighten that fan belt up if you didn't know when these over the truck there's a spot all right there's that square that is designed to put a ratchet II and pull like halo and that puts tension on your belt and then you couldn't it's easier to tighten them and then you just tighten that one bolt back up and then hold it sometimes you got to break this one over here loose to get it to pivot but anyway you get it to pivot while you're pulling like hell I'm not down there and it makes it a lot easier and there's also one there on the power steering is right there is the square for it so this belt being loose I can adjust either power steering if this bill is loose tuned that belt is tight so this bill needs be adjusted by up here that belt stays adjusted by them in there so we're gonna just this real quick and see if we can get that squeal out when we hit the gas here you go watch that compressor them you can get some leverage on one of these and pull up in hell it's moving a quarter mile 1/2 inch anyway let me get it tight now see what's going on okay y'all time to do the power steering if you guys have never cycled power steering you don't know what you're missing out on and it seems like everything I've got leaks power steering fluid so I don't buy them little porch you see it to get at station 9 quarts half pints or whatever them little tiny things I buy it in two gallons so and believe it or not I've had this going for about that dodge was was leaking like crazy it was leaking one of them little bottles over two three days she screw this so I wasn't bought that gallon threw it in behind the seat then that was like six months ago and I ain't bought no more since Marquez what they normally come in and don't even feel the reservoir but we're gonna fill it up we're gonna start the truck up we want a cycle and we're gonna turn the wheels all the way to the right and then turn the wheels all the way to the left and back and forth back and forth back and forth about four or five times and then we'll come out here and check it I'm gonna probably have to fill it up again and then we'll do it again and then we'll press the brakes a few times to get the booster up and then we'll see if we've got any leaks we had a pretty substantial leak but I do not know where that leak was I assumed it was in that line it's good being one of these if it is we'll just have to fix it so or it could be the pole but we should know here shortly that's how I like to do I know it says add when it's all the way to the bottom of the steep and I know it says the cold field on the way down now but I like feeling it all the way up make sure I have plenty of extra [Music] and it says that that might be moment [Music] and I can see my hydraulic Bobo you can probably see it to this kid coming in well you might not be [Music] there you go don't like that and I all went back to those Oh way back to the other soon and it is getting quieter get out and see if we need any more fluid I've only cycled it a couple of times here if I can get you a better angle looks blurry [Music] [Music] get out reach down down then grab hold of the steering shaft and spawn it from outside I didn't see any leaks [Music] like future [Music] come on go around check all the light to your shorten see what's going on with you and see if any of them to working oh I know the interior lights working [Music] [Music] it's just about - no sound whatsoever and the more you working right to left they're different you know to get better and better but walk out here and look I'll bring you out with me see if you can see it and yes there's tightening up that here I won't give it some gas no fanbelt squeal it's just a fan now you can hear the fainting real good here we go we got a air-conditioned intestine let's hear it and see if it's any fun Oh oh we might you look the guy head though I had about something mean he'll everybody lies about something or another oh no she whooped it what the gauge is telling him one father no no it's not trying but in here [Music] [Music] back out here Porcello I would offend end of day three we've got it washed we've got the power steering working now we've got the brake assist working we have the air conditioning working we have the alternator working and we gave it a bath here the everything seems to be good only I checked all the lights all the lights work on I've got one this one right here in the front it's got a hole in it I need a new one and one of the ones on the back that one over there is not the brake light is not working regular light works here in the back to work in it old truck cleans up pretty good but anyway that's the end of day three will won't get tagging insurance on it and drive around a little bit and do some more work too
