The Carcassonne Gulf is located in the heart of Occitania,
about 100 km from Toulouse.
I'm Caroline Canet, the Director of the Carcassonne Gulf.
In the 1990s, my grandfather bought this gulf.
It had nine holes at the time,
which had been designed by Jean-Pierre Bazurko.
He turned it into 18 holes.
It's a very well-drained course.
We don't have any closures
due to the rain in the fall.
No problem.
The Carcassonne Gulf Sports Association is very active.
We all work hand in hand.
The Sports Association organises
qualifying competitions every week
for people who want to improve their index.
It's open to everyone. Everyone can sign up.
We have renovated the practice.
Today, there are 12 posts covered.
Three non-covered posts,
a small synthetic grid
and many targets,
including our famous American football post.
We have two pros, Kevin Del Valle and Mathieu Bozio.
They share the teaching.
They run the gulf school.
41 students.
Group lessons and individual lessons,
of course, at the request of an individual or a couple.
It's an 18-hole gulf, 5,738 metres long.
It's a slightly wavy course.
Our signature hole,
everyone who has played Carcassonne
remembers the first hole and its famous wall.
One by four.
Once this wall is crossed, it's a left-handed dodley.
We arrive on the board.
No difficulty on the second shot.
We can't talk about golf without talking about the Grim Keepers.
The Beneditti family, Patrick and Brice,
and the Paris-Isidores.
There are only three of them. They do an incredible job.
The course is magnificent all season, all year round.
And the preparations, judged by all the participants in the competition,
are remarkable.
In terms of restoration, on the gulf, you have the Bistro d'Auriac,
which has a fabulous terrace at the start of the year.
They are open in high season, every day of the week.
There is a competition that is very, very important to us,
players as members of the office.
It's the Jaurillu competition,
which was held at the time when it was still part of us,
and which lasts every year,
and which is an essential meeting point.
So, a great formula, a great atmosphere,
over two days, given the number of participants.
The gulf is located two steps from the medieval city.
It's a must-visit if you go to Carcassonne.
It's incredible, with its doves,
its cranes, its towers.
It's like being a real knight in medieval times.
