hey guys it's Mike Chen in this video I'm going to show you some of my favorite places to eat in New York City without breaking the bank first going for some very cheesy pasta then an iconic Chinatown eery for some of the best pork chops and fried chicken legs in the city then I'm going to take you to a new dumpling restaurant with one of the best deals you can find on noodles anywhere and before Manhattan and this place has a pretty darn good deal on their pasta so this place specializes in fetuccini alfredo and they swirled the pasta inside a ginormous parmesan cheese wheel and you can get it for $9 usually a pasta like this especially when it involves a giant parmesan cheese wheel I say minimum $15 $16 so for $9 it's a really good deal and that's why this place is just always so packed that's awesome that's really really good Pasta Pasta texture itself very chewy authentic they cover in that nutty parmesan cheese and they sprinkle a ton of Parmesan cheese on top as well so this is an incredibly cheesy bow pasta I mean the pasta the cheese everything is about as good as you're going to get it anywhere this is actually really really delicious texture flavor everything and they definitely do not skimp on the cheese so much cheese in here you can also spin more money to add different toppings like bnes you can add truffle oil if you want but just a basic bottle of pasta $9 already ridiculously good I think this a must try it's so good for this price next up I'm going for a burger in the middle of Manhattan's Chinatown with a Dominican [Music] [Music] twist so Elsa Zone was a very popular Dominican restaurant and they have this really popular Smash Burger that I heard about all the way across the country you can get it in single or double Patty and it starts at $7 and it is a beautiful looking Burger it's buttery cheesy covered in chimy Cherry sauce couple ginormous slices of pickles the Patty looks beautiful the bun is nice and toasty that is absolutely superb I love Smash Burgers I've been eating a lot of them and a lot of Smash burger joints been popping up all around New York the bunnet first of all is so perfect buttery toasty the Patty is Juicy there's just so much flavor in this burger the rich cheesy Patty perfectly balanced out by the chimy churi sauce I think it's the first time I've had should be chewing a burger before piping hot juicy Fresh Off The Grill yeah that thing was deliciously satisfying and since we are in Chinatown let's go grab some dumplings Oh and before Hing to The Dumpling place this is a place I used to come to all the time I think it's one of the first restaurants I've ever been to when I moved to New York hame pagu t from what I remember this place makes some delicious um pork chop where chicken over rice let's go you here I think back then like 20 years ago you could get like a pork chop over rice for about $5 here now it's still not bad $750 for a pork chop over rice or if you don't want the rice you just want a pork chop 350 or if you prefer a fried chicken leg I always go for the pork chop okay check out how big this pork chop is covers the entire Bowl shy and Bowl rice this thing is about a pound of food 750 and that's including tax I believe so you can get this either with pepper sauce or not I got it with pepper sauce it's over rice and also lettuce and preserved vegetables this looks [Music] incredible it's so good the pork chop itself perfectly fried oh tender and juicy I never had this pepper sauce before my first time eating that here this sauce is delicious goes really really well with the rice also I added an egg which I highly recommend you do here marinated [Music] egg something you got to eat we eating a fried pork choc is a marinated egg oh man it's Savory a little Smokey I highly recommend getting this pepper sauce it's delicious and I got an extra pork chop as well again 350 for a pork chop if you want you don't want the rice where you want to double up the pork chop which is what I did two pork chop over rice 350 per pork chop and I couldn't help it I got a fried chicken rice look at this really crispy on the outside same preserve vegetables ooh a meat sauce underneath this place they don't even give you a knife so you just pick up the chicken and take a bite oh God I'm so glad I got the chicken too just so crispy so so crispy I mean you hear that right crispy juicy chicken sitting on Rich meaty gravy pickled vegetables is nice and sour balances out the richness of the chicken and the gravy perfect Chinatown comfort food again one of the first places I ate at when I moved to New York absolutely iconic place this is about as hearty and delicious and comforting and satisfying of a dish you can find anywhere one of my most highly recommended rice dishes in all of New York City oh yeah again get the egg so this this dumpling restaurant has some of the best value items in Chinatown let's go [Music] in so this is the new location of this Dumpling House and for $4 you get 10 dumplings or you can get jel noodle or Chinese Fred Bean noodle for $4 anyway I got a bunch of stuff [Music] got my food I got some fried dumplings some steamed dumplings look at this $4 plate of noodles good amount of noodles in here a couple different pancakes okay let's try the noodles first so jam one of my favorite Chinese noodles fried bean Noodle and the biggest difference between Chinese Jam man and Korean jaman is Chinese jaman add a ton of potatoes so there's potatoes meat this is smelling really really good oh this is delicious this is really authentic tasting Chinese Jam men yeah like you see here tons of meat tons of sauce the noodles almost tastes like hand cut noodles great amount of chew this is one of my favorite Chinese Comfort foods and if you never had it before the flavors are so rustic wow they do make their own noodles here this is really good $4 okay okay okay they're saying make sure I mentioned that this is the 21 Division Street location otherwise people keep going back to their old location this is legit the sauce is delicious people are coming to admire my noodles pretty good amount of meat and sauce in this dish I love to put potatoes in this dish it's one of my favorite things about Chinese J the potatoes it's so nice and mushy it has all that great flavor from the sauce the fried bean sauce delivers an amazing earthy wami hamade noodles too I think this might be the best noodle deal in New York City like where else you going to get hamade noodles delicious sauce nice and spicy as well $4 pretty big portion too nice sure delicious super authentic tasting amazing job 100% recommend I'm going to chase that with one of my pancakes oh here we go so this is a Chinese um Sesame pancake and they sell this as a individual pancake but I would recommend getting some meat inside so inside they have pork looks like some fatty pork too pickle carrots and it looks like some soy sauce some chilies it's yummy [Music] goes really well in my J Man the pancake they make in house as well and it's so lovely this thing is chewy I love the toasted sesame flavor the pork you can see the fat in the pork really nice and tender love the crunch from the carrots 350 for this giant pancake delicious I'll just come here get a pancake get a plate of noodles that's a pretty substantial meal all right let's get to the dumplings add in some soy sauce some vinegar I think this is a southern place so instead of hot oil they usually have Sriracha nicely fried dumplings again all this is homemade they even make their own wrappers here this is a pretty melt in your mouth dumpling pork and chive and a lot of garlic no it's yummy wrapper a little thick but tasty feeling is delicious let's try the steamed dumplings here I think I like the steam dumplings better and I typically do you can see all the juice that's in this [Music] filling the dumpling wrapper is nice and chewy as well oh that was a really juicy one here not bad one last thing to try okay so I didn't know what this was so it's the same pancake as the pork pancake but here slices of beef the same picko carrots some Chili's soy sauce There yummy inside marinated beef shank the pancake is very well done this is good I might like the pork one even better cuz I love how tender that pork is but you really can't go wrong with either one of them and they both go so well with my jaman I will come here just for this this is such a delicious value item this place is a gym again Division Street I'll put the address down below okay this is a really interesting little market inside there's Chinese barbecue a Chinese food counter if you come here right before they close all their food items is discounted so this was $8 now it's 5 850 now it's 650 850 650 get like a whole tray of B Choy for about three bucks wow as I was uh just standing here this went down price again so $5 now for this fish dish so this is pork and this is fish all right so I picked up one food box from that market and the last place I'm going to tonight there's this Japanese grocery store that's supposed to have some amazing deals on sushi and sashimi at the end of the day check this out tons of sushi Nary only Gary ventos and everything is 50% off after 8:00 and this is what basically everyone is here for right now I got a tuna a sushi combo salmon sushi and there's a ton of Bento boxes here as well grilled chicken fried rice fried calamari some KATU this looks like a good meal I got a lot of stuff from that place there's only a couple tables to sit in in there and they were both taken so let's go back home and eat a few minutes [Music] later actually one more thing I wanted to grab before hitting of the city so this pizza place has been on everybody's list as being the best pizza in New York City and just from a glance it looks pretty darn good super thin crust with some very lovely patterns on the bottom got a spicy salami it's amazing Pizza Pizza crush is incredible thin yet chewy with a nice crunch the sauce is sweet which goes really well with a slight bitterness from the Char the salami is spicy the fresh basil delicious this pizza is at least a solid nine maybe 9 and a half for me that is very much an awesome slice glad I was able to try [Music] this okay this is such a great deal everything I got at this Japanese Supermarket I got a grilled chicken friy rice so originally it was about $12 $6 about a buck 50 for the miso soup the salmon sushi about $6 the mixed Sushi platter about $6 this tuna dong about $6 onreal the deal at this place after 8:00 I'm really excited for this this is the grilled chicken fried rice the fried rice looks good comes with a bit of pickles and grilled chicken with Sesame on top fried rice looks like eggs onions some broccol some carrots oh man it's delicious M some sort of sweet Teryaki tasting sauce on top of the grilled chicken the chicken is tender the rice is delicious M oh Fried Rice is [Music] awesome the pickles are good oh this is very much worth the $5 also I picked this up from the Japanese grocery store it's some sort of uh strong carbonation Pepsi it's called a Pepsi color refresh [Music] shot maybe just really high in [Music] caffeine carbonation feels normal not bad goes well with the grilled chicken really good chicken fried rice by the [Music] way next up heating my gome and the Miso soup up it's really good miso soup delicious miso soup with a little bit of yoi and tofu inside oh yeah it's going to go really good my G Yodo looks delicious add a runny egg slices of fatty beef with onions yeah it's really good it's freaking delicious goo wow this is way better than I thought it was going to be first of all the rice is delicious all the juice from the beef has steeped into the rice the onions nice and caramelized with a little bit of sweetness the beef is very fatty so it's extremely tender there's a bit of pickle Ginger to cut down the richness this awesome the beef's little smoky phenomenal flavor perfect with the rice it goes really well with the Miso soup yeah this is phenomenal $6 Sushi combo salmon that's a lot of sushi rice like a lot of sushi rice the fish is delicious the salmon is absolutely melt in your mouth so fatty buttery and nice it's just a lot of sushi rice let try this white fish no same thing fish is awesome just a giant mouthful of rice I mean a trade this will definitely fill you up there's so much rice on the sushi still for six bucks pretty good deal this tuna though is gorgeous some radish Sea Salad e c looks like some kind of sauce sitting on top the beautiful pieces of tuna like really beautiful pieces of tuna and right below the fish some Sesame and seasoning this a pretty sweet dish I think some crispy rice puffs sitting on top of the tuna and I think some Japanese mayonnaise is on top of the fish I mean like the aura the tuna is good A little sweet but nice not bad Chase it with some of this Wasabi octopus oh this is so good I mean it's not 50% off but for $4 I just really wanted it this is amazing spicy Snappy I think this is a pretty well worth the dish so the Japanese grocery store that was such a budget friendly meal like everything 50% off is an incredible deal with the exception of too much rice in the sushi everything's phenomenal I think that gildone was one of my favorite gildon I've ever had from a grocery store that thing was so well made yeah this is probably one of the best places to go for an inexpensive Japanese meal anywhere in the city and people know too like by the time it was 8:00 there was a line throughout the store everybody had a basket full of Bento and Sushi yeah that was such a good place one last thing to try so at the Chinese market everything was being marked down including this roast pork over rice roast pork just cooked today in a bunch of it for about $5 so a huge cut of charu looking absolutely beautiful and glistening at this end piece over here with a little bit of char with rice and vegetables wow it's so good this is a deal for five bucks there's so much chashu on here way over half a pound of food here with the rice and the veggies the chashu is stunning M oh my God this is so good it's tender fatty this thing is waterline melt in your mouth with that delicious honey sweetness spread throughout the meat and as you chew the fat renders on your tongue look at how glistening this thing is all the juice from the meat is trickled down to the rice as well the rice is delicious you get some veg to kind of change the texture up a bit oh yeah this is such a good deal as well and this wasn't the only deal at the market like if you go a little before when I went there was more box lunches there when I went it was only about 3 four of them left and they keep marking it down till they sell it out so if you want to just go at the very last minute and get a super cheap box meal that could be available but yeah if you see the chashu being discounted 100% go for this I think some of the best food I had today the gildo from the Japanese Supermarket I mean the pizza was delicious too The Dumpling players was out of this world especially the jaman the $4 noodle What a fine the pork chops good the fried chicken leg is good the cheesy pasta is delicious this has been an awesome food day and as always
