Hey guys, welcome or welcome back. Today I'm going to be taking you through a summer week in my life.
Although every day and every week is very different, I want to show you kind of what I do
around the farm. My brother told me that our duck hatched some ducklings and I see them walking
around right now, so I'm really excited to go see them. Now I need to work on morning chores and get
So these are black sunflower seeds that I have to-
oops- that I have to feed the goats. They do love grain, but they get addicted to that and every
time they see me they will be screaming at the fence for food and they also get pretty pushy,
so I'm going to try the black sunflower seeds and see if that works. Let's go!
I only have two goats left here. One of them I know is sold and the other one I think I have
sold. I was worried I wouldn't be able to sell them all this year because the market was pretty low,
but I'm very glad that I was able to and without that I would not have been able to buy Maggie,
my new horse. So now it's time to feed these guys. I did not forget about you, don't worry.
She's got her water pretty dirty because one of her favorite things to do
is to put her feet in there and stomp around. Okay, I'm heading outside again because mom
either needs help with staking the tomatoes or harvesting garlic, so I'm gonna go help her with
Right now my dad needs help moving the bull and the steer,
so I'm gonna help him with that for a little bit. So our plan is to move our bull Rocky along with
the steers and with the girls. We were planning for this to go simply, but as you will see in
a minute that is definitely not what happened. Do we even know where they're at? Here cow,
cow, wild parsnip. Ah, I touched it. Here cow, cow, cow. Come on. Do you know where Rocky is?
Is he actually coming? I didn't think he was actually following us.
Come on boys. Come on boys. It's not there anymore. You can cross. They think there's a fence.
It's okay. One of them came through. There we go. Took you that long to figure out? Okay,
it's already time to do evening chores. I feel like today just flew by, although I got a ton
of work done, which I'm really happy about. Oh my goodness, girls! They were like sleeping next to
each other. Oh my goodness. That was so precious. I don't even know how America
figured out how to get over there. I didn't think she would.
Today is a little bit of a rainy day, but I'm gonna try and get Selena out and work on some
show patterns with her. My 4-H show is coming up in about a week, and I need to be prepared for
that, so I'm gonna practice the halter and the showmanship patterns with her.
Okay, I gotta go grab the fly spray because I left it in Maggie's area. Hi, Missy.
Well, I don't have any cones to set up the pattern with, so I'm just gonna use
invisible cones and kind of imagine it in my head. Okay, well she did pretty good. We're
definitely not gonna be the best at the show, but that's okay. There are two things she really does
not like doing, which is backing up and setting up. That's okay. We can work on it. So as you can
see, I'm grooming Magnolia with no halter on or anything so she could walk away if she wanted to.
Grooming like this is really important, not only because it is bonding time, but it teaches them
to stand well, be groomed, and be desensitized, which is something we're gonna start on as she
gets older, so I think this will really help her. We have this nest of baby birds up on the porch,
and they're getting so big. There they are. There's at least four in there.
Well, we've got a storm rolling in right now and possible tornadoes, so we need to be on the watch
to film yet today. We spent most of the morning and a little bit of the afternoon in town running
errands, and then we just ate dinner. Then I'm gonna go to my 4-H horse clinic with Selena,
and then I'm going to my neighbor's for some 4th of July fireworks.
Okay, I'm gonna give her some fly spray, and then we're gonna head to the clinic.
Hello. We're here.
They set up this barrel pattern for us to practice tonight, and oh my goodness,
I thought she would just trot around it, not know the pattern. It would be a mess,
but she actually did so good. It really felt a lot faster than it looks, but she was actually
like loping through most of it. I was really proud of how she did, and I think she really
enjoyed it too. Some days she just really wants to run and go fast, and I definitely think it
was one of those days. She actually did really good. Like my helmet hair. We had to leave early
because we have the fireworks to go to, so I did ride a little bit. I did some barrels,
and Selena did so good. Like I did not expect her to go that fast. She actually looked like
she knew what she was doing. She was not a barrel horse at all, so I was really proud of her for
that. The fireworks were so good, but it's really late, so we're gonna head home now.
Okay, today is Thursday, and it is 4th of July, so Dad has work off today, so I don't know exactly
what the plan is for today, but I know that we are going to be getting a lot of work done.
Okay, I just did some leading and grooming with Maggie. I also brought her in this round pen area.
Now I'm gonna open her up into here so that she can just kinda go where she wants to and graze.
My sister said that she heard one of the pigs squealing, so she's thinking that Lola might
have had her babies or might be having her babies, so we're gonna go and check. Okay,
she's right there. I don't see anything. Yeah, everything's good. Hi!
You like it in here? This kitten is so cute. He is Cheetah's only kitten, and I think that I'm
going to name him Cheeto, because that goes with Cheetah, but we have this one calico kitten and
a bunch of black kittens that still need names. Okay, Dad told me to come outside to help him
record something. I have no idea what it is. He won't tell me, and I'm a little scared.
Okay, here we go. It's not gonna work.
He was trying to roll the veil down the hill, but it didn't really work.
Okay, well that's basically a week of my life. Please give this video a big thumbs up. Make
