Shadow's Crossroad

Excuse me. Can you help me cross the road? I'm sorry for the trouble. I don't mind. Be careful. Thank you. You are very gentle. I am not, really. You are not very honest. You see, you remind me of my very dear friend. I have always been a very sickly person. They didn't expect me to live this long, but he was always so protective to me. Always did his best to support me. Wise. There were some bad people breaking into our home. He sacrificed himself to save my life. He had such a bright future, and I took that future away from him. He wasted it on someone sickly like me. I sometimes wonder about that time. If it wasn't him, if I could exchange place with him... Don't. Don't say that. He saved you because you are worth it to him. He would want you to... To... He would want you to keep living and be happy. I know. That's why I am still here trying my best. Thank you. You really are gentle. Grandma! Oh, you came to pick me up. She has a grandchild. Thank you, mister. I should get going then. Bye-bye. Now that I think about it, if she was still here, she would probably have been around the same age. I also want you to be happy, Shadow. Wait, how did you know my... You're late. Where have you been? It's unusual for Shadow to be late. Shadow, you okay? Yeah. Don't worry. I am okay now.
