Metal Sonic's Envy

he was created to surpass Sonic so his programming was set to imitate Sonic's data and enhance it in speed in power but perhaps also his affection for his friends but in the end that's all it is imitation he was programmed to be Sonic and surpass him after all so that affection might be just to mimic Sonic the Hedgehog's psyche there is no real emotions or feelings behind it it's all just part of his programming then why did you program that in even if Metal Sonic can copy Sonic's data and boost it Sonic won't stay the same as well he will keep soaring and improving in different ways a program will never be able to do it will only be an endless chase that would only be true if the only variable in the equation is Sonic but that's not the case is it sonic he can't imitate someone's behavior if he's perceived differently i won't let you hurt Sonic anymore in others eyes he is not Sonic if there is no data to copy he can't be Sonic when he encounters events where he won't be able to imitate Sonic what will he do when he can't have what Sonic has what he should have what will he do then envy is said to be one of the greatest bridges between mankind and their revolution but perhaps that also works on a mere program that's how he will soar and improve that's how imitation can give birth to something real
