Honestly, this is more of an outtakes video, as after surprisingly finding evidence of anterior impingement during a video, we did not include that footage
However, set on it's own, there is still a learning point to be had about the examination of the ankle - not least that you need to dorsiflex the ankle until the end of ROM when assessing for anterior and posterior impingement - as during our run-throughs, we had not found the pain here

now this is very important because if
there's pain in that area it supports
perhaps inflammation or tissue damage
which is then aggravated when we
dorsiflex the foot and causing pain due
to anterior impingement at this point
here
and to keep you in that position I'm
going to move your foot up just going to
have a look at that source of pain again
so move your foot down
is that causing discomfort
okay so no discomfort at all with that
okay let me go forwards any
discomfortable toward that
any discomfort here yes
yes yes yes yes
okay
that was more than I was expecting yeah
yeah I feel like we haven't tried that
many for years
okay well we have a couple of times
okay let's try that again I won't push
you so far so just going to push down
again is that hurting
a little bit okay
and if we go back yeah that's fine okay
uh if you can set up for me
so we've clearly got some discomfort on
that right leg
um I think we probably need to get a
scan or to work out what's going on with
that
um so let's also get you to see the
Physio and we'll sort out some
painkillers for you
um have you got any other questions
myself based upon that no okay well
thank you very much for your time let's
see if we can get you sorted
