hey it's jackie and welcome back to my
channel for today's video i'm doing a back to school theme video and of course
it is not um an everyday look for back to school
but an inspired video from britney spears's
baby one more time when she is wearing the iconic school
outfit so if you enjoyed this video make sure you give it a thumbs up and
subscribe for more pop culture tutorials i had so
much fun picking out some 90s products so
they have the lancome juicy tubes back and i thought it would be really fun to
include that so i hope you guys get inspired by this
look whether it be for halloween or without the styling
because the makeup is quite wearable so anyways oh i have a really cute case
that totally goes with this look so if you are looking for a new case
i used to always buy one at the beginning of a school year then i will
have my case defy picks linked down below i
have some really cute ones that i think you guys might like and
anyways let's get started with this makeup look
i've got my clip and bangs and pigtails on to help match my coloring to britney
and one of my favorite foundations is the power fabric giorgio armani
foundation this is more of a honey color to match
the blonde and i wanted to bring back some iconic
90s products so i couldn't find the collection on screen that was genuinely
in the 90s anywhere online but these are early 2000s smackers and
i had them unopened so my favorite scent was the vanilla sugar cookie
and these totally go with the look for concealer i do have some darkness under
my eyes and i wanted to very subtly highlight my
chin without it looking you know highlighted and contoured because that's
not the vibe we're going for i went with this benefit concealer
that's only one shade lighter for more of a subtle highlight and this
is industrial strength for coverage and i love
how this blends into foundation and the packaging feels very back to school
the foundation and concealer are fairly matte but for longevity i'm going to
dust some translucent powder under my eyes and move on to the bronzer
this is by the brand gurla and it's their terracotta bronzer
it smells so good and this has been around i think since the mid 80s and was
a staple in the 90s this look is fresh and young and i love
the peachy warmth that this bronzer gives to the skin
contouring was not a big thing for brittany in the 90s she is a natural
beauty and i love the old shots of her just rocking like
very natural makeup for concerts and everything but since i
wanted to appear a bit more like her i'm adding a nose contour
i'm defining the bridge of my nose in pretty much a straight line
going downwards and then for the illusion of farther apart eyebrows i'm
going with the rounded shape into the eye socket
and rounding out my nose tip like i said totally optional of course and i faded a
bit of the shade nudie from too faced for all the
contouring but also above the tip for a button effect
for blush i went with the benefit dallas bronzer i love that these come in the
box and i'm sweeping this from the apples of
my cheeks upwards and then to create more of a skin-like
look because i did use all like matte products today i'm using
the charlotte tilbury hollywood flawless filter in shade three very
similar to my skin tone here and it just adds a bit of sheen
like natural skin blending this out and for brows i'm
using a new product from benefit this is the brow micro filling pen and
i'm using a deep blonde shade it has three little pegs and it's
similar to microblading your brows you can create very natural looking brow
strokes and it really stays put and i'm going very natural with this
look and filling out the sparse areas in the front of my brows
and then throughout the arch to fill it out and we're ready to move to shadows
first i'm using dallas by benefit again as my base in the socket in a rounded
shape and i'm fading this into the nose
contour as well we're going to use some taupes and
silvers but it's nice to have a warm peachy transition shade
super flattering and i really like this peach shade between the brows and into
the contour it really helps frame the face and the
palette i picked out is from too faced and it's called the
now and then palette i'm pretty sure this was limited edition
but why i chose this is because when you open it up they have their original
10 shadows from 1998 and then their 2018 collection under it so
very fun throwback palette felt very 90s using it but i'll have some shades
listed down below that are dupes and i'm taking the first shade dirt bag
which is a deeper bronze and i'm focusing this into the crease in
a rounded shape more focused on the outer portion of the eye
once i got this nice and blended i'm taking nsfw
on the outer portion of the lid and i will say this did have a lot of fallout
i tried using less of the product on my finger for the other eye and i still
got fallout so i love the texture of the shadow on the lid
it had some glitter and some satiny finish
but um the glitter portion falled all over my cheeks so i had to clean that up
and i would recommend if you are using a glittery shadow at
all to use it wet or with a setting spray on the brush
finally under the lash line for some definition there i'm taking dirt bag and
blending outwards and then from the original 10 there is a
black eyeshadow and i just added this to the outer
corner lashes and what i love about this britney look
that you can't really see in the dancing sequence but you can see it when she's
sitting at the desk is there's a reflective silver on the lid
so with this tiny brush i'm adding the silver all over and then
blending the silver into the taupe at the outer corner there just with my
finger and repeating on the other eye
adding a bit more depth now that we have the silver on there
and i did take some silver shadow and i applied this to my waterline
if you do have a silvery eyeliner this would be the time to use it or you could
use some setting spray and make an eye shadow into a liner like i did
and time for an eye color change boom check that out it makes such a
difference with my appearance and you guys ask what contacts i use and
they're from a site called tie dye i don't like to recommend
contacts i'll say this many times but it's always a risk putting anything in
your eye and i only ever wear them for like an
hour or two when i'm filming and i don't leave them in longer than
that so i often don't like to link contacts because i worry
that people might wear them for extended periods of time and i just don't think
it's that good of an idea but anyways i'm going to line the eyes
with liquid liner and my favorite eyeliner ever is the mac brushstroke a
black liquid liner so easy to use and once i have the shape
i did a little wing there i also dotted some liner under my bottom
lashes so the mascara would pop and if you want a true 90s throwback go
with great lash from maybelline they still sell it and it's such an
iconic product i had one and i opened it and i realized that mine was quite a bit
old so i decided to go with lancome for mascara and if you want to go glam
for halloween you can totally add some lashes too
time to line the lips this lip combo is so great for a 90s
look and quite inexpensive this is the wet and wild brandywine
shade and the shape i'm going for is a bit of a higher cupid's bow
and i'm extending the lip liner farther outwards and upwards for the top lip
and then underlining my bottom lip and this lip liner i'm gonna build up and
fade inwards i could have gone with more of a deeper
shade or like a little bit more purpley because some
scenes it did look more purpley but i know this brandywine color was
quite popular in the 90s and so were the lancome juicy tubes i
was born in 1995 so when i got into makeup and lip gloss
and everything it was like in the 2010s so i never had one of these until today
but i love them and i'm so glad that lancome brought them back they're super
comfortable and long wearing they smell so good so let me know in the
comments what year you're born in i want to see how many of you guys are
fellow 90s babies
and if you are a gen xer maybe you know baby one more time from the viral tick
tock dance which i did attempt to learn and it's so
bad i'm still gonna post it because whatever it took effort but i learned it
backwards does anyone else have this problem when you're trying to learn to
dance like every time it was the right arm i did
the left arm or whatever so yeah i just flipped my footage because i
couldn't figure it out but um yeah my name is jackie wires on tick
tock if you want to find my account if you're going back to school
also let me know what the deal is are you going in person do you wear a mask
are you staying home this is such a weird time getting a little sidetracked
here but if you do want to recreate this look
i will have the top the sweater the skirt socks hair accessories all linked
down below and as for the hair i am wearing fake
bangs that i cut myself i styled and temporarily colored the
roots to be a bit darker
but to get a similar britney look just put your hair into two
pigtails that are a little bit backwards on the head and then braid
and add some accessories and you're good to go overall this was such a fun look
to recreate and of course i have this mug from etsy i am such a
huge britney fan and my other favorite look from young
brittany is probably sometimes in her music video i think that was such
a pretty look and just so adorable so let me know what
