How to Film a Cinematic Travel Video with DJI Osmo Mobile 7 (5 Easy Tips)

now it's been a while since DJI released a new mobile gimbal but the wait is over with the launch of the DJI osmo mobile [Music] 7 quite close we've been traveling for 5 days without water [Music] [Music] oh let's go let's go let's go oh now the video saw earlier was entirely shot on this Gimbal and I had a lot of fun using it during my trip to br Brazil and one big benefit of using a mobile gimbal which is why I always bring one with me is that it helps me capture smooth steady videos on top of that it also has extra features that make filming easier more fun and let me take creative shots so in this video guys I'll share five useful tips that help me make amazing travel videos using the DJI osmo mobile 7 tip number one is to travel light it might sound simple but it's easy to overpack I do it too how it is to Vlog and go up you can see I'm already out of breath he's bringing a lot of stuff in here you know don't do that I talk a lot about mobile film making but carrying a whole bag with me most of the time I don't even use half the stuff I bring and I know that carrying too much just slows me down and makes it harder to stay creative I can't talk like that I need to wait until I get up especially when filming on the go you want to be able to capture the moments as fast as possible before it passes quickly and that's what makes the DJI osmo mobile 7 a great travel companion look at this view guys it's compact lightweight and easy to set up especially when traveling with friends a quick setup is key for me because I don't want to slow everybody down the magnetic clamp lets me quickly attach my phone to the Gimbal unfolded and start shooting right away what's also great is that the osmo mobile 7 has a built-in power bank which is really great if you're out here vlogging filming can drain the battery quickly so this can be a Lifesaver in situations like these and this really cool so I don't need to bring an extra power bank with me this way I can travel even lighter and extend the shooting time and if you're in the middle of the Jungle Outlets nearby aren't really available now one thing I would recommend is just challenging yourself by just bringing your mobile gimbal with you on your trip you'll be amazed at how much more free and creative you'll feel without lugging around heavy camera setup tip number two is to include Vlogs in your travel videos vlogging is a great great way to share your travel experience and connect with your audience on a deeper level hola the DJI osmo mobile 7 makes it easier than ever to film yourself the built-in extension pole lets you be further away from the camera allowing you to capture more in the frame plus with this new multi-functional module you can see that there's a camera over here you can use the intelligent tracking feature also this means you can use your phone's back camera for a better quality with without worrying about being cut out of the frame now another thing that I really like is I can just press the trigger button and the indicator on the module will turn solid greed and this tells me that the tracking is enabled and when I press the trigger button one more time it will turn solid red which means tracking has been disabled so this gives me a good idea of when the tracking is starting and stopping pressing the trigger button again you'll see the tracking has begun so I can put V bable up I can put the gimbal down no matter where I point the camera it will always try to keep me centered in the frame and I can use any thirdparty app it doesn't have to be the default camera app I can also use the Blackmagic camera app or other third pro video apps that you prefer what also makes filming Vlog easy on the osmo mobile 7 is that you can use guest your control to start tracking and filming yourself from a distance additionally pairing it with the DJI Mike mini which I'm actually using using right now and the mic is connected through this module resulting in high quality audio now another cool way to use the DJ a mobile 7 is to place it on a flat surface you can use the built-in tripod legs on the Gimbal and record yourself and be further away from the camera and right now I don't have the AI tracker enabled but by holding up my palm the indicator on the module will turn a solid green which means it will now start tracking me and also record high quality audio as I have the DJI Mike mini connected to the module so really cool I can just walk around as you can see and it will follow me no matter where I move and once I'm done I can just hold up my palm and the tracking will stop tip number three is to capture b rolls along with your main Vlog the a roll the b roll includes extra shots to add to your talking head videos this adds variety and makes your video more interesting to what watch for example if your Vlog is about your trip to the waterfall your b-roll could show the beautiful scenery the journey to the waterfall and other activities you did along the way it helps your viewers feel like they're right there with you experiencing the journey with the DJI Al mobile 7 you can capture smooth footage of your b-roll even if you're moving around and this to me was really important because I was always on the go another helpful feature is the integrated tripod I used it with the intelligent tracking to fillm myself during summer some activities resulting in authentic moments that would have been difficult to capture otherwise the built-in tripod was also helpful in capturing steady time lapses which can always make for an excellent beel footage now if you enjoy creating vertical content you can do so by switching the orientation Pina who I met on the trip used it to take a static shot of herself swimming near the waterfall resulting in a beautiful vertical video that she can use for her social media you can see how a gimbal like the aome mobile 7 makes in B- rolls easy while still being able to enjoy the moment tip number four is to use the fill light which is also integrated into the multifunctional module all right yeah that should be good so we're actually out here shooting the Milky Way and actually got a really nice shot using the DJI Alam mobile 7 as a tripod and also right now I'm using the fill light and I have it currently on level one so when I press the button I'll set it to level two press the button again it sets it to level three and I can also change the color temperature between cold and warm which is really cool and I can also activate tracking as you can see see what they're doing Russian girl here feeling cold then you should come to Switzerland now 20° this is just 20 man in Switzerland it's zero she's wear like a poolover and a thick jacket tip number five is to get creative with your shots a gimbal doesn't just stabilize your footage it also helps you capture unique angles that are hard to get otherwise don't be afraid to experiment and try different ideas to make your videos more interesting and dynamic also if you're traveling with a group of people or friends don't be afraid to ask them if they would like to be a part of your video and if they do maybe you can act out a small scene like I did with Paulina I created camera movements such as a pushin low and slideshot to make the scene more Dynamic and having a subject in your video can also make your travel video videos more relatable and engaging for the viewers now to me the DJI Oso mobile 7 is definitely a huge upgrade from the osmo mobile 6 and way more convenient to use it only takes one step to unfold it now has the built-in tripod and with the multifunctional module it adds a lot of advanced features such as being able to capture great audio using the DJI mic using the intelligent tracking to record myself on any video app and even control the camera with guestures no need to rely on someone else helping me film and this really makes filming on the- go super easy
