married 7 years and we've never done this together

Tonight's an exciting night. We are going to do... This is really cool actually. We made a couple little changes in our room. Three, two, one. Hi friends. I feel like it's been a while since I have vlogged. Maybe it hasn't, but I'm happy to be back. And tonight's an exciting night. I'm just kind of doing the dishes right now. But Gabe has been gone. Today's Tuesday. He left Sunday morning. So he's been gone for three days. He goes twice a year on this little men's trip. It's not little, it's quite big. And so they've been spending a couple days in Austin, Texas. And he gets back tonight and I'm excited. The house is just not the same when he's not here. But I always get such great quality time with Micaiah too. So it's been good. I have a little surprise planned for Gabe. And he doesn't know what, he just knows he has to be free tomorrow night. So I'm excited. I will set all of that up tomorrow and then you can see what it is. But it's something that we've never done together. This year, we're celebrating eight years together. Actually, oh my gosh, literally, wait. Oh, wait, that's actually really sweet. So not only is it Valentine's Day in a couple of days, but tomorrow, I thought it was today, but it's tomorrow, is our eight years since we met. Eight years. Oh my gosh, that is so crazy. So we met on Superbowl Sunday, 2016. And Superbowl is coming up this weekend when I'm filming this. And Valentine's Day is coming up. And I'm just excited. So this is kind of a little, it was meant to be like an early Valentine's Day because we probably won't do anything on actual Valentine's Day. So just a little date that I have planned, which will be cute. But how precious that it so unintentionally falls on the day that we met, our like anniversary before we met. Okay, I'm going to do the dishes. I usually, I'll listen to an audio book or watch a YouTube video. I actually need to get another audio book. So maybe let's do that. I will go to my Goodreads and see what books I have. Usually on like with audio books, I will listen to like a scary, like a mystery or something because the main chunk of my reading is done before bed. I've probably already talked about this before. And so I tend not to read a lot of mystery books, but right before bed on my Kindle. So then really the only other time that I have to read something like a physical book is on the weekend, like on Saturday or Sunday. But audio books help because I can put it on when I'm driving, when I'm doing the dishes, when I'm doing my makeup. So that helps me get through books a little bit, but I'm always torn because I always want to read the physical book in case it's like really good. So sometimes I'll double up and I'll buy the physical book and then I'll like go back and forth. What should I listen to? Okay, let me see what this one is. Let's try this one. It's called The Perfect Couple. I think it is kind of a mix of like a romance and also a murder mystery because it's based around wedding season in Nantucket. I don't know, there's people getting married and then let me see. A body is discovered in Nantucket Harbor just hours before the ceremony and everyone in the wedding party is suddenly a suspect. Yeah, that's all I need to read. That sounds like a book I would like. Okay, it's called The Perfect Couple. All right, I'm gonna listen to this. Gabe has probably landed. Let me check his tracking. He's arrived. He landed like 10 minutes ago. Yay, so he'll be home soon. I will heat up some dinner. I'm preheating the oven. I'm gonna make some cookies. I get so giddy. Like this year, we're celebrating eight years and I still get so giddy when he comes home and it's only been a couple of days. I don't know if I'll ever get over that. I mean, you guys tell me if you've been married like 15, 20 years, do you ever lose that feeling? I know that my mom hasn't and they've been married for 30 years. So I like it, it's special. I'm so excited to show you what it is tomorrow night because Gabe's gonna be so good at it. What we do have to do tomorrow before date night is we both need to go to the DMV which is that's where you go like get your license in America. It's called DMV. I don't even know what driving and motive calls. I'm guessing is that what it stands for? We both need to go because we just need to change some stuff on our licenses. So did you ever see those TikToks? I think it was like a passport trend of like doing your makeup really nice to go get your passport done. I'm gonna try to do my makeup really nice to go get my license. I only got my new license. Sorry, that was the oven. I only got my new like Tennessee license last year and so the picture is super recent and it's not terrible. So I would really like to not redo it but I think when I go in, they'll probably make me redo it. So I'm just gonna get ready just in case, you know, just be like prepared. I'm gonna start my book. Good morning. I think we're about to head to the DMV but I just curled my hair. I did my makeup. I need to go get all the different documents that I need to take with me. I don't wanna forget anything. We met eight years ago today. Tonight should be really fun. He still has no idea. I just told him that I need him to film with me later. Which is like the perfect excuse for anything. Anyway, fingers crossed. It doesn't take like three hours at the DMV but we'll see. I'll keep you updated. It is six o'clock and we got home from the DMV probably 30 minutes ago. It took a really long time but it's one of those things that once it's done, you're like, thank goodness it's done. Gabe is bathing Micaiah right now. About to put her to bed. We got this at the door and I'm so curious. I know who it's from. It's a perfect cozy game to play at the end of the night. The story is basically that you are taking over your mother's burnt down cafe. And so your aim is to like rebuild it and build a thriving business. So this is what mine looks like. I've done quite a lot. I have played it a lot. See everything like these, this section still all needs to be renovated. You can see the parts that I have renovated. Something I love is that it's customizable. So if you love like designing your own like cafe and games like that, you would really like this game. So you can see what I have redesigned. Like I got to pick all of this out but the way that you get money to renovate, so you can see I'm waiting on more money is by completing orders. So these are my orders up here. I already have one that I can complete. And the way that you complete orders is by pairing the same item and then it like upgrades the item. So I'll show you these two. I can combine, then I can combine that, combine these, then combine that. And so you keep combining until you have like fulfilled all the orders and then you get more coins. There's a lot of different stuff. They have a really cute Valentine's day event, which I'm guessing that's what this is because it's nearly Valentine's day and it's a really cute pink envelope. So I'll open this in a second. But basically the Valentine's event is this sweet little grammar. So you are helping Betty gather love letters to send to her friends. Gabe has just gone to our bedroom for a second. I'm going to set up our date. I'm so excited. So I'm gonna set this up now. I wanted to pick something for a date that we just haven't done before. And I don't know, like this is our eighth year together. I think it's really easy to just start to do the same stuff together. Like watch the same TV show at night, go to the same restaurant together, go see a movie. Like it's very easy to fall into that. One of my goals this year is for us to just obviously keep dating each other, but do new things. So this is new. Okay, so I need my computer. I'm gonna get it out. So I ordered this kit online. We are going to do a virtual painting class tonight. So it was this website where you can order kits. So I already picked the painting that we're both going to paint. And then it comes with a canvas or two canvases, two little easels. It comes with the paint brushes, the paints, like it comes with everything, which is amazing. Like what a good idea. And then we watch like the virtual lesson on the computer, which is great because you can pause it or rewind it. He has no idea. And we've never done like a painting class together. He's so artsy. And I was looking at different virtual date ideas, like stuff that you can do at home. And there was like a dance class, a cooking class, but this was something that you could do. Like you didn't need to like schedule class, like schedule a time. You could just do it like your own time. Because I picked the painting that we're going to do. They already included like all the like specific paints that we need. Okay, I have everything set up. I just think I want to go get like some plastic plates for the paint. I feel like that would be safer than putting it on a bit of cardboard. Then we've got all the brushes and these are little aprons. And then I have the video ready to go. So I'll put this like there. I'm really excited to see what he thinks because he just has no idea. Okay, I wanted us to do like something that we've never done before. Like a different type of date. Also, it just happens to fall on our anniversary of meeting each other. Okay, now you can open your eyes. We are going to take, we're taking a painting class. A class? Yeah. Are we going to put on Bob Ross? No, it's, I have a video. Like it's ready to go. We've got all the paints. It was like, I picked the painting that we're doing. What? This is so cool. And they sent us the paints. What? I think it'll be fun. This is really cool actually. Okay, we just ate some yummy dinner. So cheers to that. I've got my Ollie pot. Got my ginger ale. Cheers. Because Jess surprised me being like, we're going to have ice cream too. And then she told me, we technically don't have ice cream here right now. No, what I said was how good is it? Apple pie with ice cream. But then I was like, we don't have any. No, I promise. Is there really anything better than apple pie and a bit of ice cream on top? Also, it's funny. We can like only see like our heads. I can see Jess from here up. This would be a great blind date where you like only see this up. And then when the date's over, you're like, hi. It's an hour long. An hour long? Yeah. Holy smokes. Yeah. But once I get into it, I'm going to be like into it. So the hour is going to go by real quick. Okay, you ready? Oh, I was born ready for this babe. It's called Hello Stranger and the main girl in it is an artist. And I just feel, I feel like an artist, like with my messy hair, with this lovely plastic apron. Anyway, apple pie's ready. Okay, thank you, love and pies. Oh, this looks so good. Babe, this looks so good. Also, you're going like this and both of us are like, whoa, our arms are getting sore. Crazy. It smells so good. We have a little bit of time. So we're going to try to finish our paintings because we literally got halfway. We were so tired. We went to bed. We really want to finish them. They're all still set up in the same place, but I thought I would show you. I got my like algorithm, like explore page and reels on Instagram is so much F1, which I enjoy, but there was a video that had this H&M drop that was just women's F1 clothes. Okay. It's a little hard to see, but I got this shirt, which is so cool. I really wish this was in a jumper. I really like that. And then I got this jumper that just says Formula One on it. It's nice and subtle. I also have some blue white glasses on. Sometimes I feel like an imposter when I put these on. I'm like, people can tell I don't wear glasses. I also thought I would show you, we made a couple little changes in our room. It's definitely not done. And you'll see this kind of like stuff everywhere. We got these lamps. We got them from Kirkland's. Where are they there? And immediately it made the room more cozy. And then this art piece was also from Kirkland's. We were going to put it out in our living room, but I was like, we should just try it in the bedroom. It fits the wall really well. So we really like it. I want to get, I want to like change up the bedding a little bit. It's slowly coming together. Okay. We are back for round two. Are you ready? Yeah. Let's finish these masterpieces.
